I run a darkglass vintage ultra preamp into a B3k and then into a DOD Carcosa fuzz. Love how they stack together, it allows me to have 3 levels of gain without much noise or feedback when they're all turned on
Totally depends on the pedals and tones you wanna get. I had a lot of different gain staging on my board. Like muff first, then OD and then a dirty boost. It worked alright, but not all combinations were all that useful. I also had a muff, then a light OD and then a medium OD. Different pedals, different needs. I now have different pedals again, and my gain staging is light OD/dirty boost into a medium OD into a high gain drive/distortion. This gives me the most versatility out of any other gain staging I had before as I can combine them in any way and get excellent results.
Thank you! Very informative! I was using just a Bif Muff by itself which is fine but I think I need an overdrive before it, just like your setup!
I am glad you found the vid informative. I hope you find a drive pedal you like!

The Carcosa is a fantastic fuzz…it happens to be one of my other favourites. I can see how it would stack nicely with the Darkglass.
Great set-up bro and a very informative video ~ ROCK!!
Thanks Dude! 🤘
I learned a lot from this. Thank you, sir.
I am happy it answered some questions for ya. Let me know if you have any questions, or if you want me to dive into any other pedals.
I used to do the same but now I run high gain to low gain as it bumps up the previous stage. Sounds way better. Each to their own man.
I find it all depends on the pedals used….but yes, always experiment with the order of your signal chain and go with what sounds best to you.

Nice job being detailed without prattling on
Thanks, that is exactly what I was going for!
