Marietta is probably the closest to this song specifically (and is my personal favorite), but all of the bands listed are really good. definitely check out Marietta's album "summer death", mom jeans' "best buds" and mobos "you're gonna miss it all". those guys have inspired me so much, and i hope i can be as good as them one day :>

It's the dark sound. The upbeat poppy sound makes it feel like you're pandering. The dissonance here is less radio friendly and sounds more genuine.
