10:04 This "quote" from the Bhagavad Gita is heavily misquoted and mistranslated, unfortunately. What he is referring to is more aligning and translated as such " I am mighty Time, the source of destruction that comes forth to annihilate the worlds. Even without your participation, the warriors arrayed in the opposing army shall cease to exist."

Existential threats are not rooted in destructive weapons but in traits such as greed, fear, competitiveness, selfishness, hubris etc. and in how species process information and enact their emotions/ compulsions. The level of destruction is aided by the sophiscation of the invented weapons, hence the level of risk grows with the evolution of each species, or put simply, the risk will always escalate over time.

Not exactly. Accidents are a thing. A well meaning being could mistakenly destroy their civilizations progress with sufficiently powerful technologies or creation of diseases in research even. And existential threats are not only created by beings, but natural causes like the meteor that devestated the earth or solar flares, colliding black holes, super nova ejections, etc.

Nuclear war involves weapons of "mass destruction". Fat Man killed 40,000 to 80,000 people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That is the most notable nuclear bombing throughout history. Since then, every developed nation or world super powers dedicated and sacrificed time, money, materials and lives to build the biggest and baddest bombs on the planet and gloat about their capabilities. With one claiming they are badder than the next, the question is why? Every country has innocent people who don't want to die, at least this way, even North Korea, China and Russia, the world's most supercharged antagonists. No one in The US wants to die like this. No one in the world wants to die like this. When it is over, no one can throw the V because of all the lives that will be lost. That is the reason why of this threat. The world has become very populated. Governments even suggest that the world has become over populated. Some places in the world has over 5 million people in a 15 mile radius and growing. WW3 is just population control. They can dress it up with their reasoning and motivations all they want, but innocent people will die and are meant to die in the arch of this nuclear threat. But with well over a hundred thousands of nuclear equip ICBMS and other long range missiles and bombs combined, survivors will not be blown back to the stone age. They will die a slow death. Not even the rich will survive the outcome of nuclear war. There are still islands that are radio active from tests done in the 50s. What do you think will happen after the smoke clears from a nuclear war? There are many things where it was declared that science went to far. If this type of war commence, science will have crossed the line, ending humanity. Just imagine an ending of a good action movie where the Earth is rotating around the sun with decomposing corpses on every continent, so peaceful and quiet without anyone alive to ask what the hell happened here. Oh well. So much for a space war.
