While I have never skated a day in my life, I have always admired all of the hard work, trust, determination, and dedication the sport of figure skating requires from its participants, and all of you are inspirational! I have always enjoyed ice dance the most because of its theatrical storytelling that never seems to be emulated in pairs skating and singles. While I will always appreciate all forms of skating, the theatrics of ice dance will always be my favorite!

Not only skaters watch this - I've watched it four times, and I can't even stand up in a pair of skates. This interview carries a special sweetness that is a bit of an antidote to the trauma of being affronted with Trump horrors all day long, every day, for so many years. Love their skating, love the way you all speak about your work.

I remember the beginning of my being drawn to ice dance was when Tanith sought U.S. citizenship in order to compete in the Olympics. I began to really give that discipline a closer look, and started rooting for her and Ben ... who opened the doors for Meryl and Charlie ... and it has been a beautiful ride. Loving these conversations with Scott and Friends!.

Really enjoyed this interview. Scott, Meryl, Charlie and Tanith are all wonderful, down-to-earth and humble human beings. I loved watching them all and continue to watch especially Meryl and Charlie's videos. They all achieved such high level of success and rightfully so. A big thank you to them all for elevating figure skating in the US.

Scott Hamilton is such a great down to earth guy who is always so upbeat and a real pleasure to see and hear. He won the Gold in 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, the same time Torvill and Dean won the Gold Medal for Bolero. I loved this interview with our Gold Medal Ice Dancers and also those he did with Brian Boitano and Christopher Dean. Torvill and Dean, as well as Scott Hamilton, came in 5th at the Olympics in 1980 in Lake Placid. T&D were working full time jobs and could not devote the time needed to win a medal at the Olympics. The fact they came in 5th under those circumstances speaks to their talent and skill. After they got a grant from Nottingham, they devoted full time to their Ice Dancing and won the Gold in 1984.

16:45 Starting to talk about Ben. 17:40 Loved how Charlie and Tanith said Ben was their barometer... if Ben doesn’t like someone, you better stay clear of them. Labrador retriever... haha

I wish Meryl had been given more air time. It would have been nice to have two interviews. One with Charlie and Tanith and one with Meryl and Charlie.

I agree. I wonder why Scott never brought up Meryl's marriage in 2019. She married a Russian ? skater in a beautiful wedding in France. Brian Boitano, Kristi Yamaguchi and other skating celebs were there. She then had a second wedding party in the US so her grandmother could attend.

Loved this so much, just missed Ben being there with them. So many great memories; and yes, that particular Worlds remains a source of dismay and anger for many of us!! :) Thanks, Scott!

Tanith and Charlie are so similar, they look like siblings, they really belong together! I wish you a beautiful and relaxed married and parental life. I send many greetings and thanks for wonderful artistic experiences from the Czech Republic, the city of Ostrava.

All very interesting, but a very patriotic slant; I have a hunch that the talents and abilities of Scott and Tessa provided more inspiration than anyone else. Hard to miss or not be inspired by what Virtue and Moir were able to deliver even as juniors, really bringing dance back to ice dance. Interestingly, only Tanith seems to want to bring them up. .. Speaking of which, does anybody else hate all the rhythm dances this year? They all seem like a mess to me. All I can think of watching them is of the Prince short dance and how all of this year's rhythm dances fall so short of the sharpness of that Prince-inspired dance and the use of Prince's music. Still missed ...

The rhythm dances this year are mostly a mess. I think the music options psyched some teams out. They thought they had to go outside their comfort zones or something. It shouldn’t be hard to make a beautiful bluesy dance, and yet…

@@jodij6280 I agree. Could be confused with another ice dance medal winner.
Meryl has always looked beautiful, like a Disney Princess!
