kapkan only works because the people who die to kap traps clearly don't have the varsitygaming charm. having the charm instantly lets you know where every trap on the map and kapkan himself are at all times.

one trick i learned for fenrir is to place 2 gadgets on the same spot. one slightly seen but disabled, one hidden that is enabled. that way when someone pushes they would think that the one slightly seen is the one enabled.
I think the 1.5 being on thorn is a mixed bag, on one hand it makes her gun insanely good, and on the other I’ve only seen it really make a difference in low skill lobbies where they use the whole mag the moment they see someone. I wish they’d make her gadget better by making it ricochet or pop faster instead of the scope but it’s ubi.
Crutch in gaming is something that rewards you for being bad. Kapkan can and will be counter if people take 0.5 seconds to check the door (every by looking for droning it)

I think your proposed change for Fenrir is really interesting. My idea (less interesting but probably easier for Ubisoft to implement) to nerf him would be when you enter the radius of the trap, instead of the gas timer starting at max and then slowly running out when leaving the radius, the timer should instead start at the minimum and while in the radius the timer builds up. That way if you just get in and out of the trap, it lasts a very short amount of time, but if you stay in it for awhile, it lasts longer (because the duration builds up, then has to go back down again) Because how it works now, is if you step into it for just a second, your vision is impaired for awhile. But with this change the longer you’re in it, the longer it lasts. This change I think would also make fenrir players put it in better spots, where attackers are forced to be in the radius for awhile, or even combine it more often with other gadgets.
that is a hard nerf and like the reply above, can just be ran through by a blitz. i agree it would make you need to combine it with other gadgets often but that doesnt work if your teammates dont want to work with you
Honestly, in regards to your Fenrir idea, i think they should just make an operator with decoy grenades of some sort for their gadget. Maybe a Capitão sort of deal, where they have two grenades that make gunshots, and two that make footsteps. Or hell, maybe even make decoy grenades a secondary gadget that only certain operators have in conjunction with their gadget? Just an idea.
They gave her a 1.5 so more people would play her and then buy the elite that was soon to come. It would make more sense just to give her the Kapkan treatment where they don’t do as much damage, and maybe they detonate a bit faster.
So ubi needs to make thorns gadget work in a way that her gadgets timing should only be as long as it takes to get from one end of the radius to the other. So if you hesitate and then try to run, it kills you. So you have two options. Run through it, or turn and try to shoot it

Thorn 1.5 gives her an advantage because the high fire rate guns like f2 and the roni are super strong on console because of the insane time to kill. But yeah at the end of the day ubi should buffed thorns ability.
Thorn legit just feels right now, idk why people are complaining. Her gun wasn't great so now it competes with the other good guns such as the MP5's and similar guns. There are still enough good 1.5 defenders to the point where you should not shit yourself over thorn getting one. Doc literally has 3 100% heals and has had a 1.5 for the longest time and nobody even complained until very recently, but still barely anyone is complaining.
It just continues the trend of Ubi not understanding how balancing works in general. Why would they give her a 1.5 when the issue is no one is using her gadget. People will use her more but not for her gadget which was 1/3rd the reason they wanted to buff her, the other 2/3rds reason was to sell her elite which obviously was the first and only thought on their minds first off.

So i dont like being disrespectful by bringing up other games on a channel that focuses on a specific game like siege but overwatch has a great thing where content creators can make changes to game mechanics and stuff like hero abilities and other things why doesnt siege do the same then the players can help themselves to balance the game and submit cuatom game modes for people to play
a single frame reaction time is normal in my games, no worries. if even one full frame, it's usually half a frame even while moving slow. peeker's advantage seems dead, first shot accuracy seems dead, game's weird.
Hello Varsity, big fan. Unrelated to the video, I am a console player and am getting hit with what seems to be a glitch. I was waiting in queue for tanked and it was taking long. So I canceled the search and once that was done it said I needed to reconnect to a ranked game. But there was no game to join because I never left one. Is there a known fix or workaround? I haven’t been able to find online

I like emerald plains as well, especially over the new rework of consulate, they ruined that map and night haven is bad also. Those are my most hated. That fenrir change would be cool actually. I wouldn't mind him then. But he's an auto ban. I don't want him in the game and I refuse to try for real on consulate now used to be my favorite map.

i thought the same until i realized azami's ability allows her to create crazy pixel peeks almost instantly at any given moment. and a 1.5 scope would seriously increase your ability to shoot them without them being able to shoot back safely. id agree a whole lot of the ops wouldnt benefit from a 1.5 but azami definitely would and it could break the balance of the game, she's already banned highly enough in pro gameplay for the pixelpeek reason.

If I want to just run around and kill people and not use gadgets than there are TONS of other fps games that I can do that in.

As somebody that played Thorn before the buff, I can say that I like it. But I'd rather her gadget have been buffed. Her gun is solid as it is

higher magnified scope makes enemies head larger on screen, try to hit moving headshots with a 1x vs a 2x
