I loved this, made me reminisce as I haven’t been to a flea market in many many years. They don’t seem to have them anymore around where I am. This was certainly the biggest one I’ve seen. Those pops at the end, we called throw downs. Loved them when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing, I really miss this. ❤️Jodie🇦🇺
If there is a bigger one than this then it would certainly have to be outside of the United States. Ive always loved flea markers.. we down to this one about 3 weeks ago. Thank you for watching Jodie!
@@RhettyforHistory after 106 days of lock down everything except travel opened back here, so can’t wait to get out a bit. Really feel like going to a flea market now though.
Thanks for showing Traders Village, it's been several years since I was down there and I had forgotten about the flea market there. I will also add that obiecue is great seasoning, I used the seasoning for several years and now that I have the link, I will start ordering from them again.
We usually make the trip down there once a year or so. I like going to it and it always seems like I see something I've never seen before. If you find any good ways of using Obie Cue let me know. I like hearing about new recipes with it.
Nice video. What type of camera are you using? Wow it's very nice. Are you using a filter on camera? Because it's amazing on such a sunny day. Good work. I love the snow cones looks tasty
You'll enjoy it! My advice would be to not show up until about 10am. You'll do a lot of walking. It takes a long time to see it all. Lots of fun though!
RhettyforFun as far as the eye can see! And the nose can smell!! FYI- just found your channel last night, I think the world would be a lot nicer place with more people like you in it! Also all the videos I’ve seen so far are very familiar to me. Spent a few years in Arkoma, Sallasaw, Gans, Vian, and a whole lot of years in FTW. Currently living in Louisiana at the west end of the basin bridge (18 miles log) over the Atchafalaya basin (The swamp)
I'm glad you found the channel. Nice to have you along for the adventures! I appreciate the kind words! I need to make my way down to that swamp area. I know there are a lot of interesting things to document in LA. One thing that's different about TX is that overall they don't like beans in their chili. It's strange. I have family in TX and they do but they are definitely in the minority. I'd definitely like to check out that chili cook off though.
I've never been to Trader's Village. I might have to take a trip down there myself next weekend. I set up at smaller markets in Weatherford and Bowie, and I have asked other vendors if Traders Village is worth the trouble. There seem to be two completely different camps. One says I should try it and the other says don't bother. I guess the best way to figure it out is check it out for myself. And no, you are never too old for pops caps. lol
I've never been to anything in Weatherford or Bowie as far as a flea market. I know getting an outdoor spot at Traders used to be cheaper than getting a garage sale spot and you have way more people. It really just depends on what you're selling and the market. If you have something different and reasonably priced I would think you would do well there. What do you sell?
dear Rhetty... my ex husband and I used to sell sunglasses and luggage out there over 20 years ago as a side hustle...if u used to live in DFW and frequent Traders Village... u would also be familiar with the pow wows they have out there too discovering ur channel just keeps getting better
Yes they had all sorts of things out there. Pow Wows, mexican music, country. All sorts of entertainment has been out there. I really love this place. Who knows me, my dad or my brother could have purchased sunglasses from you. We bought a lot out there. Thanks for watching and sharing your experience out there.
Interesting trivia about the Lady Gouldian Finch you showed at 1:20 is that they don't raise their own babies. My Mother used to bred them and she used a Society Finch as foster parents to raise the Gouldians. Nature is so weird at times. Thanks for sharing... Thumbs UP for support. :D
That is very strange! I've never heard of that before! Good on the other Society Finch that Gouldian Finch sounds lazy! Thanks for sharing that interesting fact!
I love Trader’s Village where you are. There’s no way you can see everything. Or at least for me and my fake knees. Serious fun for a small amount of money! Ty. You went right by my house. Great video!
It is some cheap entertainment. I love going there. I remember when there wasn't anything else around there. I'm sure I've been by your house tons of times!
I went and ordered in a big pack of spices and some GatorsBreath as well! I told them you recommended them and I wanted to give them a try as a result! Thanks, Rhetty!
That Canton one is a good one! The only downside is it's not every weekend. Both of them are very difficult to get a feel of the size unless you experience it in person. Thanks for watching Fonda.
That video was different, you sure would get your exercise while you shopped. I would be leery of buying any animals there though, especially the birds might be smuggled and also wary of puppy mills.....but everything else would be very interesting. Thanks for sharing....we could almost taste your sticky shaved ice~ LOL Smiling and Waving from Michigan~
There are two things I would never do out there and it's buy animals or have my car worked on. There's sure a lot of people doing both. Other than that you just never know what you'll see. Or eat! Lol. Thanks for watching!

@@RhettyforHistory ok then thats what i am looking for but all the videos on line show only new stuff and cheap dollar store stuff, I want to go junking and hot wheels picking
This is different every weekend. Your best bet for for the junk picking and hot wheels is the open areas and the large open pavilions. But don't over look the rest. If you look thru it all and really pick thru things like that you may be out there for 5 to 8 hours. Some of those buildings that have doors have junk piled to the ceiling you can dig thru. Some weekends there are different festivals. Other times you may see used cars, boats, plains, mobile homes etc for sale. I mostly hit shops I've always hit and only skim over some of the other areas The lantern I got was in the open pavilion area in a pile of junk though.
Yes we have. I do a lot of grilling and the girls like to use them in vegetables they eat or even just on fries. There's a bunch of different ones so it's really hard to get tired of them.

That's something I'm very proud of and I have a lot respect for those that are serving now.
RhettyforFun that's so awesome. Thank you again! Maybe you can do some cooking videos with those spices somehow. That'll be cool and yummy to watch. Haha I love good food cooking.
We spent about 3 hours there one afternoon and barely scratched the surface. The food booths were incredible...I almost forgot, what I found funny was all the grown men pushing baby strollers with igloo coolers full of beer.
Pushing coolers of beer in strollers, wagons or a dolly is super popular. You can buy beer out there but that gives away who is seriously ready to drink!
