Absolutely. Chris and Bo narrated every Saturday afternoon through my youth. Along with Gifford and McKay cutting in and WWoS of course. Both institutions.
I remember this like it was yesterday. I'd just turned 16 and had gotten my driver's license about a month prior. We were out visiting family in Placentia and I drove myself down there. I think Joe Berardi got justice for every single bad break in his whole career on this day!! Thanks for posting a great memory!
Brooklyn strike after brooklyn strike by Berardi. l saw him in the qualifying at the Showboat in Las Vegas, l remember he carried six brooklyns and two shots right through the nose in that game, hit the pocket twice (once for a ringing ten) and shot 279
The 1988 AC Delco Classic wasn't even carried live on our ABC station (WYTV), they showed it on same day videotape that evening at 11:30 PM, WYTV had the Pre-Olympic Hockey Warmup (USA vs. Canada) in syndication on January 16, 1988
You can see even here, Roth looks like he's getting old/worn out from that bowling style. STOMPSTOMPSTOMPSTOMP....TORQUE!!!!!. RIP to one of best ever, if not THE very best. Spent many a Saturday afternoon as a kid watching him kick ass.
Mark Roth: 207 Jim Pencak: 170 Joe Berardi: 212 Mark Roth: 182 Joe Berardi: 258 Pete Weber: 199 Joe Berardi: 248 Walter Ray Williams Jr: 227 Berardi Wins!

I love Pencak's acceleration thru the shot. Really good.
And Chris Forry is still the greatest ball driller to every grace the planet.

1988 was a Banner year for me.. I won $150,000 in ATLANTIC CITY!! ON MY BIRTHDAY!!! LOVE IT!!! 🎲🎲 🎰🎰🎰
Lucky Berardi. Taking strikes anyway he can. Great telecast of Joe surviving Roth, Weber, and Walter Ray.
I wish that this video hadn't ended before I could see Joe Berardi get his trophy 🏆and see him being interviewed and talk about his coming up twins.

Agree. I like his game but he on TV he seemed to be the luckiest bowler I history.

If you watched bowling for the first time in March 1990, you would’ve thought Jim Pencak invented the sport.
What a TV field!

Mark Roth and Joe Berardi have bowled some excellent matches
by far the most brooklyn or fortunate strikes I've ever seen a pro bowler get in 1 telecast...............
Steve Cook had way more than that in one show a few years prior.
@@enigmazero8624 yeah i remember Steve cook in long island open against earl and in semi-final. cook was playing 4th arrow........
Yeah as a couple said, Steve Cook was throwing wild af crossing over one show....it was ridiculous.
I knew Joe and his father in Pearl River. What happened to Joe after his touring days ended? I heard he moved to Florida
In October '88 was the birth of an Autistic Basketball player in Jason McElwain aka JMAC.
Congrats!!! Good bowler Joe Berardi!!
Good bowling? Lol
The title match was exciting and very close
How exciting and close was it?

Why is Chris Shenkel always so obsessed with a bowler's size?
Joe berardi got some fortunate strikes and carried a few Brooklyn strikes to win the ac delco classic

Berardi carrying all kinda trash.
Chris Shenkel:
"Pete has $750,000 in prize winnings"
Trust me, he has $6.43 in his bank account at the time of this tourney.
Well, im sure he was talking about what he'd made. Not what he had at that moment.
