The old (like 90s old) Brine Superlight OS (Off-Set) was the king of the plunger heads. It would wrap that ball up like it was a baby in swaddling clothes. If you were up against someone with faster hands and a stiff head you're gonna lose on the clamp every time, though. Still a fun head that wasn't a bad shooting stick with a traditional string job on it.

Great drill, my old problem with the true plunger was whenever I pulled the ball out I wouldn’t pull it to the side. I would try and pull it straight through my opponent, and then my opponents stick would get caught on mine when I had the ball. Thanks for the drill 👌

Rolling the wrist seems easier for newbies to do as it's safer to clamp the ball fully before popping it out. What move would you teach first to new faceoff guys who's hand speed isn't fast enough to win with the plunger consistently?

Teaching them to clamp correctly. By extending the elbow and turning their wrist like opening a door knob. And keeping their left hand low. Not the unnatural wrist roll that will lead to early onset wrist tendinitis.

Is a true plunger with a CEO2 viable?

Sure is just be sure to get that ball to the throat and lift your left hand straight up!
