I don't know what has he talked with Otto to came to this conclusion, but when he was at the deepest of despair, he decided to bet everything to a last bullet instead of giving up. Subaru never ceases to impress me, I think his shonen superpower is his undefeatable will to not give up no matter how hard things look, rather than Return by Death
@@yeivist8685 thing is that Subaru gave up in the past, and almost did this time. He doesn't have shonen superpower of friendship, he is very human and has great friends and allies he can count on. And for me it is the best part, its that Subaru is a normal human (aside return by death) but his internal trials, suffering and all makes him a much complexe and lovable character, he is no uber chad launching fireballs

Un des meilleurs protagonistes des animes modernes. Il remplit parfaitement son rôle (identification au public, héros de isekai etc) tout en ayant sa personnalité propre, ses énormes défauts mais surtout une très bonne évolution très inspirante, surtout dans des moments comme ça où il reprend confiance en lui et est prêt à tout pour aller de l'avant.
c'est pas un des meilleurs pour ça, c'est surtout car c'est un raté , il a un pouvoir incroyable mais il est quand même nul, avec quelques fulgurances.
Il a pas une trajectoire classique , toujours en monté , lui c'est instable.
Et ca resume bien notre monde actuel, on est tous des gens instables ( époque ou la volonté et la concentration sont faible)

En y repensant cette discussion et la révélation de Subaru que "recommencer" et "sauver" sont deux choses différentes vont nous permettre de bien souffrir avec lui dans les prochains arcs... Tant qu'on ignore si ses morts annulent réellement les événements d'une boucle, il ne peut pas se permettre d'en sacrifier une simplement pour gagner des informations ou mettre en place la prochaine. Chacune des morts de n'importe quel autre personnage compte potentiellement pour de vrai et chacune de ses propres morts vont potentiellement affecter les gens qui tiennent à lui.
C'est un bon moyen de nous garder investit mais je sens que ça laisse présager beaucoup de drames et de pleurs, je suis pas sûr de m'en réjouir... ^^'

Just so you guys know, this bet which is done in the worst possible way, as childish and lame as it can get, is actually super cool... because Roswaal, knowing Subaru could just die and escape to another world would he lose the bet, signs it into his very soul as a _contract_ .The contract will bind him trough all his future lives, following him post death... and if Subaru does not win this one timeline, he will have to completely abandon his humanity forever and become like Roswaal, losing Rem. The stakes have never been higher in this anime, but ofc, this episode just makes it a childish bet between two people with no stakes or consequences, telling at the end only that there would be some, and not even that bad. Butchered writing beyond butchery. Lucky I got so pissed seeing this I read the web novel.
This is why it's incredible, it looks so much like a childish bet and that's why roswaal was so chocked, he casually gambled his whole life and dreams on pure hope and nothing else, he didnt know if anything would or could even work and he still did it, that's what make this insanely good

I still don’t get how subaru got roswaal to agree to the bet
Roswal does not believe Subaru has anyway to succeed. So by accepting his bet he is presumably just speeding up the process of getting Subaru to follow his plans.
As Ivan said, Roswaal says in the next episode that it's "lying the ground for the next him", meaning that after Subaru loses his bet (and confidence), he'll naturally choose the path Roswaal wants to led him onto in the next loop.
@@gnoki2817 Not only that, in the WN is said that Rosswal and Subaru made something similar to a contract, that's why Rosswal was confident that if Subaru failed in that loop he can't do anything else but follow his path.
It's the worst bet possible, his chance of succeeding were negative, he only had otto at this point with him and if he would have saved everyone without making the bet, roswaal would have joined him anyway since he need him to find echidna. Roswaal had all the chances to win.

Alors oui c'est vrai que s'il forme un contrat avec Beatrice, ça le rendra plus puissant d'une certaine manière car il pourra utiliser sous contrat des sorts mais uniquement en sa présence car Subaru n'a aucun talent pour la magie. Après dans tout les cas ça ne le rendra pas overpowered car le "but" de l'animé est qu'il meure quant même quelque fois, même si ce n'est pas à cela que je pensais quand je voulais dire ça.

Roswaal wants Subaru to be like him. Like, he doesn't care about sacrifice, he isn't afraid of death. Elsa said Roswaal looks like Subaru (they both aren't afraid of death). That's why Subaru thought he could rely on RBD at will but he realises that his death doesn't really change the timeline but send him in an another timeline where he can restart. The timeline where he died doesn't change at all (we saw that in an episode of the part 1 of re zero s2) and his death looks like a betrayal towards his "friends". So Subaru wants to prove that he doesn't need RBD to save everyone. Roswaal doesn't know how Subaru's authority works, so he thinks he can travel in time at will without dying.
