I think you are right about the Salmonaids invading after being hunted down by Inklings and Octolings ever since Splatoon 2. And that the prophecy came true after Mr.Grizz's defeat, making Grizzco weaker, allowing the Salmonaids to invade the city to get revenge on the Inklings and Octolings.
They only had beef with inklings but they beef with any octolings that like inklings

What's scarier is that Wahoo World is the stage placed closest to Inkopolis Square as you can see the Ferris Wheel in the background of the Square

It was only said that Splatoon 3's hero mode will be a finale to the story of the first 2 games
In the picture of a salmonid house you can see a day circled in the calendar. Maybe thats the day the salmoinids were planing to invade, or maybe they always knew that the seven rings would open due to the migration and all the time they were just training themselfs to the invasion
As a deep splatoon lore theorist, I would like to state how wonderfuly indepth Nin10doland goes, bringing us the lore only people with keen eyes would notice. Great content once again, and thanks for bringing us the lore!

I would like to point out in one of the salmon run locations in Splatoon 2 you can actually see salmonoid huts built above the water. I don't remember the exact name though.

I know I’m a bit late to the party, but with the introduction of the King Salmonids, the seven rings could very well represent seven different types of King Salmonid. We’ve already seen two so far, Cohozuna and Horrorboros.
Maybe when all seven of these things are revealed, that’s when this prophecy comes true.
Maybe the Big Runs are the Salmonids way of waking the King Salmonids from their dormant slumbers by invading the Splatlands en masse. It’s a way to rally their forces.
I suspect that during the final Splatfest, Salmonids will be heavily involved. Not sure how, but considering how much focus is being put on Grizzco and the Salmonids in general in Splatoon 3, I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case. Maybe they do one final push *during* the Splatfest. A “Biggest Run”, if you will.
Just imagine: the seven rings opening in the sky, and a cutscene plays, with all seven of the King Salmonids dropping from the rings, letting out a battle cry as an army of Salmonids rises from the rapids.
Wishful thinking, maybe. But an epic, yet terrifying thought nonetheless.
The prophecy is cleverly describing the act of cooking salmon on a grill. It's one of my favorite scrolls because I just love the creativity they put into this game. Japanese style BBQs are called 七輪 (Sichirin) which means "7 Wheels."
7 wheels = 7 rings
Smoke rising from the 7 Rings = when the smoke comes off the grill during the cooking process
Considering Salmonids find being cooked and eaten to be a great honor.. I find the whole thing to be so very clever. XD
Some people might recognize this grill name from Ariana Grande's "7 rings" tattoo fail a few years ago. XD
Maybe if that island remains the constant source of the rings and is truly their home turf... perhaps it's located over an old active volcano? The volcano has been dormant but it's coming back to life and heating up the ground around it and releasing smoke into the air via vents? Perhaps that's driving the salmons out and making them crazy.
Also i think the scroll with the salmonid in his house looking at his weapons..I think that takes place in some of the wooden huts you'd see on some salmon maps! B
Maybe thats it! Honestly it would make the most sense! Also since this cant be the first big run since our little salmonid buddy from the story mode also got lost in a big run hence why we have him at the start of the game
@Vanguardmastervideos Since there's a sea scroll with a Biblical Era vibe to it explaining Big Run events that definitely implies, Big Runs have been happening since ancient-er times!
Lore wise with there being no Salmon stuff in Splatoon 1 and normal Salmon Run content in Splatoon 2 perhaps that meant that the years leading up to S2 were when the volcano ended it's most recent dormant period and began to wake up. Maybe the Runs in S2 weren't just invasions by the Salmons to attack and kill Ink/Octolings but were actually just scouting missions and camps by Salmons to find a safer homeland since their's was starting to become unbearably hot?
So perhaps they weren't truly our enemies but refugees from their own homeland and it's just Mr Grizz who managed to manipulate everyone into being okay with the slaughtering of innocent Salmon and the abduction of their Salmon children in exchange for minimum wage. Now the Salmon are angry with us because we are attacking them unprovoked and Ink/Octos don't even see the weight of their actions because they're so brainwashed by mass consumerism and only care about their paycheck after a shift.
So maybe Big Runs of the past were less of a war driven invasion and just the Salmons running up onto land for safety and crowding out the Inklings who fled for cover until the Run was over and they could return home.
I think of Big Run as a Blood Moon Lunar eclipse type of event, since the moon controls the tides of the earth, having a certain positioning every 70 years where it turns into a blood moon (blood sun?) , turning the sky red, and bringing in extra high tides that floods mainland. The rings in the distance i don't personally think is linked to any land (and i think it will be revealed later with how deep the lore is the devs wouldnt leave us in the dark) considering the canon map that's been revealed saying that salmon areas are in specific water locations. Salmonoids do have some intellect, but their invasions, or at a better word for it; migrating, is in their instincts. Am i the only one thinking of this?
I've always imagined the Salmonids invading Inkopolis Square since Splatoon 2.

I think also the salmonoids in this game. Accept death but via bring eaten by other wildlife or inklings or octolings (they know they’re still in a food chain) and since we are hunting them for sport or just eggs and no eating their inkplosive bodies after getting killed or splatted they also see that as unforgiving or wasteful (or they see it as something worse than death) (did I misinterpreted the the lore of them or almost on point?

I remember in a previous video about there being results and I just want to point out what if its salmonoids versus inklings/octolings and if the salmonoids win that map is off limits until the next big run where you can try to take it back.
I interpretation of the 7 lights is some sort of signal or omen of the salmonid's belief or religion, their long waited judgment finally realized. They waited for so long for this meanwhile there species were hunted since time immemorial and now with their heighten intelligence they can fight back against their hunters. whether it be bears, humans, inklings, or octarians, they will all be consumed, and the salmonid's will arrive at their promised land

I just noticed that on the island in the distance with the seven rings, that if you look on the way right of this island, you can see a bridge and I think this is Hammerhead Bridge connecting Greater Inkopolis to Splatsville and I think that this island is Inkopolis but I’m not really sure what is going to happen to Inkopolis Square and Inkopolis Plaza.

i hope the large scale dlc is octo expansion for salmonids but when you beat it you get the ability to play on that island in the background which has its own shops and turf war and stuff like inkopolis. salmon run on the island would be replaced with a mode where you play as one of the chums or chum-based bosses in the inkopolis salmon run

I'm all for the Island in the distance being the home of the Salmonids since It's in the lore that the Octarians and Salmonids have traded in the past,... Now that I think about it does DJ Octavio have any connections to the Salmonids?
I just thought, Nintendo while showing some of the story mode said “end of the splatastic saga” which means end of fighting octarians, end of the arc. And because of this, I think in splatoon 4 or splatoon 3 dlc, what we will face won’t be octarians, but salmonoid. Might not make sense because of small fry, but he would just be on your side

The once every 70 years is Big Run, as Splat 3 and Splat 2 have some time between each other, if the 70th year was Splat 2, then it wouldn't have come back in 3.
In the manual its said glowflies have caused salmonids to attack cities from before inklings attacked them and collected their eggs
I theorize that at the very end of the games life there will be a big run that we “lose” which will completely destroy Splatsville

I wonder if it's just inkopolis being invaded. Most of the salmon run maps are closer to inkopolis. You have to get to the salmon run maps via helicopter from splatlands HQ
I think Big Run will randomly play after PvP matches and all 8 players will have to fend off multiple waves at the same time.
At least that is what i hope for.

salmonids have done big run before, I can't remember where but I saw something say that they migrate over land for spawning, its not there fault its just instinct
I guess TarTar is the exception as he a rouge AI who thinks the current civilizations that exist do not deserve to exist and wants to just reset everything, so unless blame is diverted, I don't think there's a case for it.

The only things i think you got wrong are : that s2 is the 70 year mark, I’m pretty sure somewhere it says that Mr.grizz was sleeping. The other thing is that i think they live in the places where we hunt them because you can see things in the background that kinda resemble apartments.

Remember around the start of Splatoon 3 there was a glitch that turned player's screens pink?
That might've had to do with big run as the pink color seems to be part of it
I think this will tie in to the dlc
The first thing I think of while looking at this is that the migration is caused by the cloud, but not because it is a signal. Because they are running from it. My theory is that the cloud is more dangerous to the salmonids than the whole of splatsville. so they are choosing to run away, through splatsville because it is faster and safer, even though still quitw dangerous.
Ooh 8 player salmon run now that would be spicy to do hopefully Master mega will make us go Ay.

A small error that you said : I dont think the salmonids build the mechs themselves,as they are prob in a deal with the octzrians where salmonids get robots and octos get their power eggs and orange eggs

Okay these guys arming all nice and friendly during glow flies they are still ravenous either way I would assume of course Splatoon 3 wouldn't be when their invasion would start maybe in a couple more games but this would have happened either way. But the weird thing is griz already lost you would have no purpose to keep grisco up and running we know that he's still around so maybe he's remotely controlling it or he has orca Manning the station. I know people think that little Jude is apparently controlling griscoe. But it seems more likely the other way around either way he has no purpose to help us so why is he still helping us why is he still collecting golden eggs what's with the boss meter is it a scent that we slowly pick up and the king salmon come in and attack.
