    Great video. I think you did a great job representing many people's feelings about the game. In my experience, videos like this are rarely "TH-cam suicide" as you put it. People love to know someone is looking out for them.
    I think Marvel Snap's biggest problem is that it's most fun when you don't play a ton, but the economy demands you play a ton to keep up. If you want to spend money to help keep up while playing less, too bad, they make spending feel terrible.
    So that model just excludes a lot of people from the optimal experience with the game.
    They need new ways to play that make it feel better to play more, or they need to make spending feel better.

      The least fun i ever had was hitting Infinite super early this season (day 2 I think). Normally I had something to chase all season. This season was completely demotivating, and I think Conquest is a TRASH TIER mode, so what was the point in playing.
      Fortunately, this is a good season for homebrew to be competitive. But when you get oppressive lockdown meta's or other overturned periods it feels pointless to paly as you are just (no offense to creators) playing people who just copy and paste creator decks with no creativity of their own, '"because they win".

      The biggest problem is that they constantly change cards to make point slamming the best way to play. But that’s the most boring version. It’s like hearthstone making always going face the best way to play.

    Agree with you on the monetization aspect; their quest to build out tons of S5 cards for the eventual series drops keeps cars acquisition slow for a majority of the base; they must have data to tell them that’s how they maximize the LTV for a user.
    The cards they release that are mid-level effects should not cost 6K tokens out of the gate.
    I love playing Silky Smooth with it back in the Meta but I definitely have noticed I’m playing less between more irl plans popping up and the weekly cards not being excited at all. Will probably have an uptick in play with White Widow release.

  • @agent_andersen
    @agent_andersen 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'm still having a lot of fun with the game every day, so I can't really relate. But that's probably because I'm not series 3 complete yet, so I consistently unlock new cards, and every spotlight week includes 2-3 cards I don't have yet, so I rarely get dupes. I'm actually worried about getting bored once I'm series 3 complete, though.

    • @agent_andersen
      @agent_andersen 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      And also regarding the new player experience, I'm a new player and I think the experience has been great so far since there is always new cards to play with. I think it's the old player experience that's lacking, because the card acquisition slows to a halt when you play enough.

  • @Decade_of_the_Dawg
    @Decade_of_the_Dawg 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I feel like they need to drop some cards to series 3 and they need to change the spotlight caches. The random card is always 1 I already own. Then you get variants of cards you dont use anyway. 4 hard earned keys later you get the 1 new card you actually wanted.

    I personally think the monetisation side of things isn't that difficult to fix if I'm honest. In my opinion what is most frustrating is not that they're releasing super expensive bundles, it's that they're ONLY releasing super expensive bundles. Aside from the recent Dazzler one and the Doctor Octopus one currently in the store, basically every bundle has been like £30+ for quite a while. I only buy the season pass, but if they were releasing more affordable bundles then I would be willing to pick them up every so often. And in my mind at least it makes sense for them to release cheaper ones because that way they're hitting all demographics from whales down. Ultimately they have to make money, and I think that's something pretty much the whole community accepts and appreciates - it's the fact that they're so obviously trying to tempt the richest players that I think is frustrating a lot of people. That's my take, at least.

    i mostly play the game to collect cool variants , more interested in the art and the nostalgia that the marvel ip brings me than in the game itself , i have fun occasionally , but to me any game with constant balance patches and ever shifting (artificially IMO) meta is by design bad . Anyway i love my peach momoko and some other artists . I think the game would be better if they released new cards but left the old cards alone , or at least used the “buff more than nerf philosophy "

    CL 14,007. I got in before they changed the money system. The old system gave you a card every 400 or so CL. I was pretty much finished with collecting all the cards until they changed everything. Now Second Dinner is feeding off of the gambling of the cubes and the FOMO. Everyone is checking out because the highs of winning a 8 cube game and getting a new card is overshadowed by losing the draw and getting a crappy card or 1K tokens. With all the bugs and the stinginess of the devs with the FOMO still prevalent, the game has had its day but it’s falling apart. After this season, I’m out. The only thing having me come back is the literal addiction to its driving force and the art. Man do I love the art.

    Just wanted to say that F2P player or only season buyers can get 1 key or 2 keys per week, and not being available to choose the card they want, also the game needs a constant series drop at the moment there are more cards in pool 5 than in pool 4, Jeff was launched 1 year ago and he still in pool 5, and now days all content creators upload decks that only a few can really play, the rest of the mortals have to make them "worse" in order to not play the same pool 3 decks

    The monetization has made playing the game a lot less fun because there's no sense of progress. Any rewards I earn don't actually build to anything due to the wildly inflated prices. I still enjoy the core game, but trying to get new cards or even variants of any kind feels like a chore.

      @williammclean6594 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm still enjoying it because I love card games but with how expensive even the most basic offer is it makes it really hard to keep up since they don't give you any new cards. All the new cards are super expensive and if you screw up on a spot like cash because the card didn't turn out to be good, you're screwed for at least a couple months

    • @Kogelvis
      @Kogelvis 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You’re shocked that playing the same game every day for 18 months got boring?

    • @tom2point0
      @tom2point0 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The unfamiliar characters will continue because they release new cards WAY TOO OFTEN now. A new character every week is 52 characters/cards a year. That’s not counting those times when we get two new cards a week too. Just wait till we get Ms. Lion from Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends as a card! Exciting? Or even better, how about Paul?
      At some point, it just becomes less feasible to keep releasing cards at that rate (and all at series 5 likely the way they’re going). You have to come up with unique abilities and you have to play test those abilities against the whole deck to be sure interactions work correctly and aren’t busted. It’s going to get harder and harder to do that.
      A new card every two weeks is a better rate and would make it easier to collect, and help sustainability and still allow for meta changes just not as often. The weekly changes are way too quick IMO.

Even grinding out to get new cards feels like a chore because the systems they have currently are a GRIND and even when you do grind its still never enough. Id love to see some more game modes and id love to see more ways to get various currency keys, gold, credit and boosters. Like alot of people are paying them 10 dollars a month we should see some trickle down in the economy. The 100 dollar cosmetics are dumb but im sure some people buy em. I would of loved to see more free emotes too like maybe they have a freebie emote you get to pick once a month between 3 random emotes. • @An.Unsought.Thought
      @An.Unsought.Thought 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Yup. 12k CL, played since day 1 launch. I feel about the same. It took me 5 and half months to become series 3 complete and that was when I spent all my gold on credits and missions to level my CL as fast as possible. Back when we got LOADS of gold every week just from playing. Now I'm lucky if I get enough gold for a variant every 1.5 weeks. Personal choice since gold bundles are too expensive to grind for and they dont tell us in advance enough which bundles are coming out. I prefer the instant gratification of getting variants. But anyway, yeah I can't imagine how it is being a new player.. its must take longer to becomes series 3 complete now! Dure they get series 4 and 5 cards faster... but the bulk of most decks are series 3 cards. At this point they may as well just give everyone series 3 complete the moment they finish the "tutorial" section of the pool 1 and 2 cards.
      And you are not tripping. I remember them saying they wanted at least 1 series 4 per month of spotlights.

    Its good to voice these opinions, I think we see them a lot from players but less so from creators so it's nice to see my own feelings around the game be represented here in what you had to say. Snap has a great game concept but it has gotten a bit stale with time, and as such my time with the game, spending habits, and content creation have all decreased pretty significantly.
    Their monetization push would def be a lot more palatable if we saw other meaningful things being added to the game, but it feels like outside of some customization stuff the game hasn't grown much. I hope they find a way to bring some life back into the community, because due to the structure of this games progression once creators start leaving (and a few already have) it seems harder for people to fill that void compared to other games. Kept it up Drew, your content is great and im sure that will be true even if you venture into non snap stuff.

I think if they introduced some kind of new boss card for destroy that changed up the play style, it would be incredibly beneficial. I’m imaging a dynamic similar to discard where you have a few different boss monsters (hela and apocalypse in the case of discard) that allow you to build multiple unique decks with a very similar core

    With you 100%. I'm mostly F2P, buy the occasional season pass, but no other cash on the game. Definitely tired of the direction of monetization. SD just seems to get greedier with each change. I understand they need to make $ and agree with your thought process of whales supporting the game with these crazy priced bundles, but it's just insanity. Also agree with being bored after reaching infinite. First few days of the season are the best, then it just tails off once I hit infinite, waiting for the next season to start and do it all over. Conquest doesn't excite me. I play enough to earn the variant and get the better resources in there, but that's about it. Don't care about the infinite avatar borders. I have two, but I only use the default faceless avatar, so no need to bother with it. Playtime has definitely tailed off the last few seasons, as it's becoming less fun. Sad to see where it's headed.

    And btw, this game is very p2w with how exclusive 6000 tokens are. Collector Reserves trickle so few tokens, it´s like trying to carry water with a fork.
    Spotlight keys are also rare enough that I will not spend them unless there´s at least 2 cards that I want, and when I pull one of them, I will not risk pulling for the other.

    Balancing games like this is very difficult another game similar was Dragon Quest Rivals in Japan. They had to go to a playset of 2 instead of 1 to help that game live another 4 years.
    So we've seen things like that happen before, if second dinner isn't willing to up playsets only true way to balance this game is to add choice restrictions. For players who don't know what this is, if you put card A into a deck you can't have card B and viscera. Example can be if you have sunspot in a deck you can't have nebula, this feels like it'd be an easy answer to the dry meta. Also releasing cards in series 5 constantly is hurting this game alot their 52 series 5 cards from now to July as series 4 is at 24.

There are still numerous bugs/glitches every patch. It was fine when it just launched, but now its laughable. I hope the actual devs are getting proper compensation at the least. I've played since global launch. This is the 1st game I've stuck with for this long, and its now beginning to be draining and it is 100% in Second Dinners lane to assess and fix. Every patch is riddled with bugs, the spotlights are a potential punishing dice roll every week, resources are too hard to come by, and series drops are almost non existent ( 1 or 2 per year is nowhere near enough).
    The removal of the future spotlights and bundles from the data mines is another thing that doesn't sit right with me either. • @thek838
    @thek838 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    On your point of nothing really shifting that's just how all card games work.
    Typically things always revert to just what is the best after an expansion release just now there is maybe a few cards that help a already Meta archetype. People whine about that lot in other card games saying oh this Meta is stale or demon hunter damn is been busted again. And many cards in a new expansion are trash and make zero impact.
    So Snap will of course cards that don't change much.
    I don't think this a issue that can be solved. It's just something you personally need to try overcome either play weirder decks or just play a deck you like or play less honestly. Burnout exists.
    And with Expansions there is a lot of down time without any new cards leading to also stale parts of the season waiting for the next just the same feeling really. And if your good hitting whatever the top rank is in those card games it's no different been stuck at that top rank without much to do.
    As for Monetization I have hope it will revert, I highly doubt they are making as much money. I spent a lot been a dolphin to now only buys SP, I imagine a lot more dolphins did the same thing and just anybody who would spend don't no more.
    Meanwhile Whales would of bought everything anyway so what they lost dolphins and smaller buyers to sell to people who bought everything anyway?
    And they were selling expensive bundles before that hasn't really changed so I fail to see how they making money this way when before they did both.

  • @lifechangingvideogames
    @lifechangingvideogames 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    My biggest complaint is the Spotlight Cache system. I have purchased the battle pass for about 8 seasons. I have used so many keys getting variants that I don't want, instead of featured cards that I really need. Why not let players trade in 1 key for 1 card, simple as that? I get that Snap wants to make money, but some of the hoops they make you jump through is wild. Example: Instead of that Red Hulk you wanted, you get 100 tokens... Great just another 2900 tokens to go. They need to give more power to the players.

  • @Brosephv
    @Brosephv 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Personally don't really care about the monetization, I only ever buy the battlepasses and I've been keeping up with the meta just fine. That being said I do log in every day and do my quests, which I get some people don't want to/can't do.
    The meta right now is a bit stale and they do make some questionable balance choices. I don't like that cards are just gigabusted for so long, we all knew blob was broken cause it was too much power for little effort, they nerf him hard, and then a couple months later they release red hulk lol. Didn't we learn anything? There's so many people running this card right now, it can be fit into almost any deck, unlike blob which was mostly thanos.
    Another thing I REEALLY don't like is that they keep rehashing the same cards in the spotlight caches, how many times have we seen phoenix force, or spider ham, or blob or knull, ect. And getting a series 5 card you already own and they give u 1k tokens is just a slap in the face. Maybe if they made it like 3k it'd be more acceptable, instead of 6 fuck you's it only costs 2 to get a "free" card.
    I think it's tough because the cards theyve been releasing haven't really shaken up the meta enough to make the game feel fresh, this whole month was just full of mid-ass cards, which gives me a chance to save up keys, but it still feels bad not getting the new shiny card and playing around with it.
    Next month has some better cards coming out, I think sage is gunna be really strong, the new battlepass card seems busted, namora has her place in ms marvel decks, sasquatch seems pretty busted (but Im getting sick of discounted stat sticks - Cull, Skarr, mockingbird).
    BUT what I really am excited for is June, the new battlepass card seems to really synergize well with the new cards. Thena seems busted, but you have to play around it which is good, sersi seems like a lot of fun, phastos seems busted, arishem seems like a lot of fun. So yeah I think we're in a bit of a lull but I have hope for the future. /rant

    Card acquisition sucks and it feels like SD only cares about making money with how ridiculous the pricing is on literally everything. $30 for an emote is fucking stupid and pure greed. For the price of some of these shit bundles you could get a copy of Game of the Year winner Baldur's Gate 3 and get hundreds and hundreds of hours of enjoyment out of it and still have $40 leftover for other, better games instead of Marvel Snap. They don't seem interested in making a fun player experience. Rewards are so stingy that it feels like this is supposed to be a job rather than a game that is supposed to be enjoyed. Every new feature introduces more monetization and you can bet your ass they'll monetize the hell out of the upcoming clan feature.
    Their balance team is also really bad at their job and don't seem to know anything about their own game. Just look at Adam Warlock who was "buffed" twice and is worse than ever, and there have been plenty of other tone-deaf and out-of-touch balance changes in recent months.
    SD is running the game into the ground and the game's inevitable death is entirely on them.

    Something they could easily do to freshen up the game would be to completely change the locations. Throw out all the old ones and create new ones from scratch.
    Everyone in the whole ecosystem would get a whole new game experience without any changes to cards or feeling unable to keep ahead.
    I kind of think folks like Glen are trapped by not having enough time too, but anyway, I do agree with you. The game is stale and they aren’t really doing much to change things up.

  • @deliro8758
    @deliro8758 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    This whole monetization critique is pretty overblown imo. Like you said: Whales will buy it and that's amazing. Every F2P lives from the whales not from the occasional low spender. Make these bundles $1,000 for all I care.
    There are only 2 things that need to happen. Increase gold earn rate (the gold pass is a very solid change imo) and make it a currency purely for cosmetics. I don't think $7 for a premium emote that you can spam every game is that crazy for a game that you don't need to spend a single cent on. Especially because you also get that currency for free (sitting on 13k gold as a F2P) Second thing is to tweak the card acquisition rate a bit while improving the cache value. I'm completely F2P and I still own 1 or 2 in every single week, with the unowned card usually being poop. I'm drowning in resources, because the value is so bad.

  • @carlosguevara424

    The delay for series drops and the frequency they said the drops will happen seems really greedy. Cost of bundles went up. The best example of a great bundle was the Peach Mystique one. It's still in my head that the Bast bundle they originally had at $5 and then bumped it up to $15 seemed extreme. They could've left it at $10 and let more people get their hands on it but $15 seemed drastic. The pricing and weight of tokens is ridiculous. Token Tuesdays you want me to spend what $15 Dollars worth for 1400 tokens? Not even a 1/4 of a series 5 card. I think they need to incorporate another tier in the weekly track, 30 instead of 25, maybe offer tokens in the 25/25 weekly reward? Offer more tokens in boxes and give us more than 1000 if we pull a card we already have out of the caches. 1000 is a slap in the face. 2500 feels more fair. There's so much more to talk about but yeah I still play but it's annoying

    Drew, that's because you live in a place where from my perspective the prices are a little cheaper. I've already commented on other channels, but here in Brazil, all these bundles cost 5x more. Which from our economic perspective is very, very expensive. Any bundle that costs, for example, $100 here is R$500. And with that I think, should I really spend it on this when I can buy a triple A game for PS5 and still have R$200 left over? The values practiced in Marvel Snap need to be reviewed and good economic, fun and rewarding practices inserted into the game. As a colleague said here in the chat. Marvel Snap is almost becoming a job rather than a game to entertain us.

    I agree with everything. I'm a fairly new player (CL 3.9K, started playing october-november last year) and even with S3 incomplete I'm already feeling like the game is a bit stale. Once you get all the cards you need to make several viable decks, the grind to get S5 is a slog, in 6 month-ish of playing I only managed to get tokens to buy TWO S5 cards. I think such a currency for a vital part of the game, which are the cards, needs to be less expensive and/or more abundant. And this certainly impacts the fun overall, because I cannot get all the cards that I want, even as a player buying the BP every month and buying some small bundles here and there, so I won't have new stuff to play with always. I have all these mixed feelings and I still have some S3 to get (like 25-ish or something) and a bunch of S4. Once I get all of those, I'm a bit concerned on how I'll feel about the game, they're releasing mainly S5 now and I won't be able to get them all, especially if I decide to stop playing and just come back once a new card that I like releases. The FOMO really makes you feel a bit trapped.

    I have not opened Snap in a couple months now. I like the game, but the economic system is so infuriatingly frustrating, even as someone willing to give them money. All the secondary currencies are just rage inducing (boosters, credits, gold, tokens, keys) and then all the little tasks that give those things (daily quests, weekly quests, weekend only quests, the few items in the conquest shop that give progression currencies and thus are effectively quests of their own). Its all overly complicated and it ends up meaning that way too much time is spent with the app open doing economic homework instead of in a match.
    Games are supposed to be a relaxation, using up time to put aside the normal worries of the day. The Snap economic model is flat out disrespectful of the time of the people that engage with it. To have any reasonable expectation of being able to play with any amount of new cards other than the one season pass card, you have to carefully plan out how you will use and balance currencies, only for SD to then change how useful they are.
    At this point, even something like a $30/month subscription that just gives the new cards and cuts out all the busywork seems preferable to what we have. And that feels kind of insane, as that is like the cost of multiple streaming services that could be used by multiple people in your household. AND IT FEELS PREFERABLE TO WHAT WE HAVE!
    I love the game of Marvel Snap and honestly am not bored of it, but every day I spend not playing it makes me feel like I was insane to ever put up with that level of busy work. I still watch an occasional piece of content on it, and hope I will someday hear that its been fixed, but at some point, I am probably just going to stop caring entirely.

    Not sure how they justify 150 bucks for pixels. Triple A games are 120...."free to play" seems like an oxymoron. If you cater to whales then the game becomes a stockpile instead of a game. New players should run away. Thanks Drew.

    My issue currently is that many new card releases don't fit in series 5. If you look at a card like Pixie, that card fits absolutely in series 5 because the effect is so incredibly unique. That's what should go in there.
    But then we have cards like Cull Obsidian and Red Hulk. These are literally just "I have stats". I even think Cull Obsidian is great for the game because it helps decks like zoo to be better. But why series 5? Can't they just put it into series 3 or at least series 4?
    Then we also have the issue of numbers being too big. Red Guardian and Black Swan are a 3/5 without potential downside - something that never existed previously. Red Hulk is almost guaranteed at least a 6/15 and even if it's 6/11, that's not the worst thing in the world. My guess is they want to make these cards more exciting. But again I rather would like to see them in series 4 at a normal stat line.
    Put cards that are exciting in series 5, not just every new card. You could get more cards as a free to play player even if they're less exciting by themself. I say let players at least get that Cull Obsidian if they can't have their pixie. And if they save spotlight keys, they still can get series 5 cards once in a while.

    I’ve been saying for a while now that the game had grown stale.
    There’s only been one new game mode added since launch, and that was just a reskin of friendly battles so wasn’t even really new to begin with. Plus it hasn’t been updated at all since it was added. Same Infinite reward every month with no variety. Similar shop rewards every month with no connection to the season theme.
    We’ve got more cards being added nowadays but the acquisition process leaves a lot to be desired. So many people using 2-3 keys and not getting the new card leaves them feeling frustrated, disappointed, and not wanting to even play the game.
    New cosmetics and ways to earn them have been added, sure, but the pricing of them and the way to get them only favours whales instead of the average player which leaves a bad impression for many.
    SD provided a road map in January. We're over halfway through April and there are still several things from the "Coming Soon" section that have yet to be added to the game.
    I've been playing a lot less Snap lately due to the frustration of having no rank protection pre-Infinite so I've been bouncing between 88-93 for over a week now. It makes me feel like that my time in game isn't being respected. Why would I want to play a game that doesn't respect my time? I don't, and so I've been playing a lot more of games like Magic, Hearthstone, and Marvel Duel that all have rank protection thus making me feel like my time is respected!

    Yeah I kinda feel the same way tbh. I know infinite isn't everything, far from it - but I've gotten close (94 once, and usually end up around mid 80s) and so decided to try and grind to see if I could hit it and MAN it just killed my enjoyment of the game. Now I feel like I'm done with the game but ALSO I want to try and reach 100 just so I can say 'there I reached it', I don't know why I'm doing it to myself haha

    People wouldn't complain about cards getting buffed/nerfed if they didn't cost your kidney to get. Also, Releasing bundles for whales would be okey if they also released cheap good value ones for the non-whales, but alas we're stuck with This "Whale out or sink" simulator

    As a follow up, I upgraded some cards and I just opened 3 gold tickets back to back to back in the caches. This is lunacy. What’s my incentive to play this game at this point if we’re being given gold tickets. This is a card collection game not a gold ticket collection game. I hope they fix this. Give us some gold. I’d take even 25 measly gold instead of a gold ticket. This feels horrible to open up these caches that are supposed to be a reward for playing this game. Sorry for the rant. It’s just so aggravating that we went from the old system to this. All this was supposed to help newer players and by all accounts the new player experience is probably even worse than before.

    Hey Drew, I agree with literally everything you’ve said in this video and it’s for that reason I finally decided this was the month I was putting my foot down and taking a break (not buying the season pass or grinding dailies). The monetization only seems to be getting worse, it’s harder every day to keep up with getting the new cards, the daily grinds make the game feel like a chore, and finally like you said at the end, even with balance changes it’s the same game over over and with like 8-10 decks with 1-3 cards switched out. I appreciate you talking about these topics and I hope your video can make a difference. Thanks again

    I generally don't have any problem with absurdly priced cosmetic bundles in games. I'm not going to buy them - and if they're strictly cosmetic then I don't feel like the whales have a meaningful advantage because of them, so whatever, if you've got the money to blow on something like that and it makes you happy, have at it. I know I've blown money on a lot of things people would roll their eyes at so I'm not about to judge anyone for it.
    My issue with Snap though is that there's not really anything to work toward for people who aren't going to spend that kind of money. Chasing variants is nice and all but the resources (gold, tokens, whatever) required to acquire them are given out in such small quantities and at such a slow rate. Couple that with the fact that you can't just choose which variant you want - you have to wait for it to show up in the shop - and actually acquiring them and finishing albums just doesn't really feel achievable in a reasonable amount of time/effort. That's what really sucks.

    If I were a developer for this game, I would be EMBARRASSED with how little content has been released since Snap came out of Beta. They make hundreds of millions of dollars and they barely trickled out a PC port, a single game mode, and an unfinished custom card thing that really only lets you change the border of your cards 😂
    All other content is new cards and QoL stuff that should have been in the game on release. It is bare bones content with all the focus being on marketing. It is depressing because the game itself is so much fun, yet the actual game gets the least amount of development

    I am so glad someone is saying the way I am feeling with Snap. To be honest, I quit a couple of months ago but occasionally check in. There’s a lack of updates, the updates we do get are lackluster and financially motivated.
    There was a point for about 3 months where I was playing Snap simply to finish the quests and that’s it. I wasn’t enjoying the game but felt like I had to keep playing. Eventually, I realised I was only playing it because I felt like I had to and ever since I’ve stopped playing, it feels great 😂

    Milking whales (my CL > 20k) makes big cash, but it will ultimately destroy the game. Whales love to flex on the dolphins and the free 2 play. When all that is left are whales OR the matchmaking only pits Whales vs. Whales, the game will crash. Fast. Once the crash starts, it is almost impossible to right the ship. I've always felt like this game has been developed and monetized with the mentality of maximizing profit before the inevitable crash. I wish it was built for the long term, because it is a good game and there is SO much more they could do with it, but it seems like are going to be content with a couple years of big cash while they have the Marvel license and then move on to the next mobile scam, I mean game.

    I honestly felt like the game changed a lot when they switched to the Spotlight system. Something had to change, but at least in the old system, every credit spent, every CL level gained you were working towards opening a random free card. You were guaranteed one every set of 40 caches which is very little, but at least every credit spent felt like you were getting a LITTLE closer to a new card. Now its just budget your resources, spend when you wanna spend, and then.... i dunno wait till next Tuesday for another new card maybe?
    Like there used to be a carrot that we could chase. Now there's just 10 new ways to give them money every day and that is not as exciting long term

    I totally agree, i stopped playing December/January. I was a day one player, i always hitted Infinity and grinded Conquest and one day outta Nowhere it felt like i hit a wall i couldnt hit Infinity no more. It frustated me that there i could not compete against all meta cards because it's hard to get them for myself, that's why i stopped. Now i am back playing and already regretting it because i have missed every important card out there... It's very frustating so yeah fomo is real.😢

    They need card restrictions that rotate constantly. Like imagine hela, alioth and Ironman are banned for like 3 days, the meta would feel so fresh without any patches or OTA or anything major and it would encourage different “unusual” decks thrive for some times and you’d have to change your tactic regularly

    Amazing video!!! Really love the content that drewberry puts out, really informative content and genuine opinions. As a semi-whale myself, I have to say the content of snap is way way too expensive, and I mostly buy bundles because I really enjoy the game and love the cosmetic art. The money to in game currency ratio is just way too high and beyond what I would guess most peoples value threshold is. Also as someone who plays a wide variety of decks, I have also found myself increasingly bored with ebb and flow of the meta as well!

    More focus on revenue is okay, but players need to get something else in return. Obviously Second Dinner isn’t interested in being more generous with resources for players, so that return must then come in new modes, features, and quality of life. In the last year or so, we’ve gotten neither. For a live service game that made so much money in 2023, the lack of any notable new features or modes in such a long time is frankly embarrassing.

    I have gotten bored with it a few times and just quit playing until the desire to play shows up again. There's nothing that requires people to play. With the exception for people like you who need to create content on a regular basis for your channel, then you're kinda screwed. But otherwise, just take a break. It's fine to not want to play everyday.

    Im in the club that isnt bothered by monetization because i only buy the pass and dont even look at the other offers. You make good content you are likable and great at presenting information. If you move to another game I'd check it out. I would enjoy this game a lot more if it didn't constantly crash. I play another game that I do spend some money on but with this game being barely functional I'm feeling like the 15$ I spend on the pass is starting to not be worth it.
