- Once upon a time in Forza Horizon 4's Ranked Adventure, it is a common sight to see Divebombs, Ramming & Wall-Riding. A year later, the anti-ramming and anti wall-ride patch hits. So here is a comparison of a Ranked Adventure races before and after the patch. Has the fun loving Horizon community become more Fun & Loving?

Still, Horizon 4 could really use the Safety Rating, so that clean players get matched against clean players, and rammers against rammers...
It could also use a feature where custom events are integrated into normal adventure hoppers, but let’s hope something happens in fh5
not when you get stupid bouncy dirt tracks. it is deliberately made to be a clusterfuck. safety rating wouldnt work there.
They would have to figure out a way to determine who os the rammer or the rammed.
Case in point. I get smoked from behind, hit someone else then a 10 second cool down as I kiss the wall avoiding another collision.
I've been suggesting this for years. Grand Turismo has such a system. Its not full-proof but at least they have something.

I love how people would ram their OWN TEAM MATES. Like, do they not understand the term team?
Yeah like yesterday I hoped on forza for the first time in a year and my team mate just kept pushing me to the side and then I just wacked him to the side(not of the track tho, he also called me a noob and I should let others pass referring to himself) and for the next 2 races he just kept hitting me when ever he can
Had that happen the other day, I was second and teammate was first and he rammed me so I missed checkpoint ended up finishing near last because of it. Next event I made sure to ram him as hard as I could every corner lol.

Trolls will always find a way. I think a penalty system that deducts points from your championship standing would tone it down since it's ranked. Also smaller grids tend to have cleaner racing as well.

I think they should just make ghosting more sensitive. Putting in a penalty system in an arcade racer is really excessive and a waste of effort for little result.
Because in horizon, car diversity is so high that each car has vastly different braking points and handing capabilities, so accidental bumps are pretty much inevitable. Sims don’t have this because cars in a class are balanced to perform really similarly.

I don't like the wall riding thing , sometimes someone side slams me into a wall and it slows me down. But I do like the anti ramming , I can just phase through people in corners now , which helps me a lot since I like to use really light really grippy cars that tend to be slow. But I do miss the huge collisions in corners that was really fun
I think ramming should be enabled for casual races it was fun indeed
@ my favourites were when my Huayra got spun on a bridge and they rammed me sideways across it and fh3 , this one guy in I'm guessing was the mercury coupe kept ramming everyone but I was using my noble m600 which had fully open diffs so it could spin really fast, just kept bating him into ramming me and spinning as he hit me so he'd just slam himself into a wall

Somehow they made it more annoying. When someone pushes you into a wall you get penalty which makes it more unfair than before.
KartoffelWilli Peter “fix”, forza is real good at covering up a problem with another problem. This game might as well be made by EA.
They should just do live time trials already, cuz that's where this is heading.

Thats is the problem: in ranked we run by points (and its so anoying when we no have nothing after a good race or good position), but in general we running for fun, that is the idea!..., and we still having that problem in ranked becuse we not have a ban system..., so, we only have patience and good luck in our racing games...
And also you have a better chance finding really skilled drivers too

The before the patch has the "Tryhards racing each other at the WMMT arcade machines" vibe I'm not even mad.
The sad thing is this isn't a ANTI raining patch, this is just mandatory ghost mode.
Only if you are trying to ram people. For normal drivers you won’t ever be ghosted
@@zachb1706 I literally get ghosted and just go straight through people in corners because I have better braking, there's no overtaking in corners anymore, just get good brakes and you just phase right through.

You know how in motorsport games there's that Monza turn 1 clusterheck? In horizon 4 we have things like that Road Circuit in that little southern village, where turn 1 is an almost 90 degree left. I think that turn really benefits the anti ramming patch

Plot twist: uses alternate/bot accounts to remove rammers by mass reporting.
Man chose his battles right. And great instincts on choosing the breaking points and race line.
Things that will never get fixed but REALLY need to be:
1 - Either turn ghost Mode on or off. Or fix it. It doesn’t really work inbetween as the AI doesn’t detect certain things like when someone uses you as a cushion slams you into the barrier but you get slowed for 3 seconds. And they fly away happy as Larry.
2 - Let us choose race type. At least between road racing and off road. Who really wants to do free roam Rush? Or cross country in general. Free roam Rush gives me high blood pressure and grey hairs 😂
3 - Fix team ranked where when you win the race finishing first place against all their team, but some of them rage quit the game right at the end so you get all points deducted despite beating the whole team you may end up with 100/200 points for beating the two dudes who didn’t quit.

Imagine playing a racing game where you can literally go through the other cars instead of trying to overtake
you cant really do that, if you are trying to corner at a proper speed, then the game wont ghost you out, if you are fast enough to get ghosted, you wont turn the corner. there are really 2 options, either you are going stupidly fast, or theyre going extra slow for some reason
@@ozguridisstudent5519 some cars (like apollo) can just ignore braking points though. with around 100-200 cars per class it becomes really unbalanced. half my overtakes in races is because of me taking better corners.
I've honestly had great experiences racing in unranked. Even had people messaging thanking me for a good race. As long as there is no driver ratings it'll never be perfect, but right now it's still pretty decent.
Same, I also have been messaging some good and fair drivers in the past and have been messaged too. :) Unfortunately it seems this is not possible anymore in the Xbox Console Companion, at least not without sending a friend request.
There are still some rammers which can make races frustrating, but it seems the majority now at least doesn't ram on purpose.

@Tristen Wu Yup, unless you tap brake or brake early and steer into corneer its impossible to properly do it. Its fine in Motorpsport since, its slower paced, but Horizon is more agressive on cornering so, no way.
Not all kb players need abs. I play with no assists whatsoever (even w/o driving line). Just set your brakes to about 45-50% pressure. You can still brake normally at your regular braking points (if not slightly before) and you don't need to worry about locking up. Easy peasy :P

Anti-ram patches only work for mostly front to back high-speed collisions but not side to side. That's why nothing really changed about griefers because they can still ram you from the side in a turn.

The best way to prevent ramming is to make physics and damage more realistic. If you ram a car, you're going to fuck up your own car and probably going to break down. In the old Forzas that's how it was. Damage was more than cosmetic.

I've seen low speed ramming. They hit you, since they're slow, you miss the checkpoint, your race is ruined.

IMO, FH4 should include some game modes like :
- purist (no anti-ramming, no ghosting, no anti-wall-run, only pure arcade racing)
- something like "skillist" (anti-ramming, no wall-run, no contact possible, only pure skill)
- sportsmanship (no wall-run, but contact allowed, only pure sportsmanship)

Love the shoutout to Unranked! Seriously folks: leave Ranked racing to the griefers, play Unranked Team Racing and enjoy your life. Of course sometimes there will be amateur rammers, but most of the time you'll be racing clean against good competition.
I love the anti - rammer wall, also I love the high speed collision to make the ghost effect to avoid rammers, but I hate when I crash with my car and make it slow :)
