One purpose of the Law is to protect us from obeying and serving pagan gods. That is why we were garrisoned in it. We were collectively subjected to its instruction so that we would not live like pagans. Many in Israel failed to stay in that protected position. They erected Asherah poles and served Baalim. Now that Messiah has come, we have Him as our guide. What did He do? He obeyed the Law. Obeying the Law is how we show our love for the Father. It's easy. 1 John 5:3 The one we choose to obey is the one we serve. We can serve the Father and walk righteously. We can serve another and walk unrighteously. Both paths have a destination. Your face while listening to him talk.🤣 Thank you for addressing this! I’d love to talk to you about forgiveness. My Father-in-law doesn’t believe Jesus died for our future sins, is this biblical(scripture?). He told me if we sin & don’t ask for forgiveness before passing, we will bust hell wide open because not one sin will enter the kingdom of heaven. I’d love to hear your input! God bless you!✝️🙏♥️🙂
Kia ora Rhonda. Where was your father in law when Yeshua died? Is your father in law over 2000 years old? No... He obviously is not. Therefore... when Yeshua paid for his sins (and yours) on the cross, both your father in law, and yourself, were yet future... This being the case, then he paid for your sins before you had even commited them, future sins paid for... Do you Rhonda completely and fully identify with Romans 10:9? If so, you're saved Sis... Sounds to me like your father in law believes that our salvation is dependent on what "we" do, this is salvation by works which is a false gospel. Our salvation, is based on what He (Yeshua) "has" (past tense) already done. Thus covering our sins... Future... We are saved by grace, through faith, lest any man (or woman) should boast... Rhonda... If you trust in the finished work of Yeshua HaMashiach on the cross for your salvation, you'll be just fine Sister, don't worry...

Paul said that all scripture is good for teaching, reproach, and righteous living. (2 Timothy 3:16). People seem to forget that when Paul was teaching the only scriptures in existence were the Torah and the Greek Translation of it (the Greek Septuagent). That is why he was writing letters to the churches to explain how to keep the only scriptures in existence at the time. He thought he was just writing letters, not what would one day become scripture. Coming to that realization led me to understand that it is grace that saves us because the law couldn’t, but keeping the law leads to righteous living. God the Father told Israel the law was to make them a set-apart people. The New Testament calls for us to be set-apart and walk in the way of our Savior. Even the Savior says, keep my Fathers commandments. I am not a liar or deceiver. I am just a sinful human trying to walk with my Savior and Creator in the way I have understood from study and prayer. Also, I wish you would have finished quoting the Messiah fully. He did say He came to fulfill the law (bringing salvation), but He went on to say that not one jot or tittle of law would pass away until all things had been fulfilled.
Very well said. I would add this regarding "fulfilling the Law." Yeshua was selected on the 10th day of the first month. Exodus 12:3 He was crucified on Passover. Leviticus 23:5 (It was a Wednesday) He was raised on the Sabbath. John 20:1 (When Mary arrived it was still dark and Yeshua was already gone.) He presented the first fruits on Sunday. Leviticus 23:10-11, John 20:17-21 He sent the Holy Spirit on Shavu'ot. Leviticus 23:15-16 The Feasts of YHVH are the Certificate of Authenticity for the Office of Messiah. He fulfilled the requirements to be the Passover Lamb and the High Priest. The Bible says He is the Passover Lamb, not the Easter ham.
