These devs are great. You can tell that they enjoy their work and want other people to love it too. It's nice to see people making games that are actual gamers and want people to have fun
My cousin's son is around the age I first played Age of Wonders. It was way back when I played AoW1. I introduced him to Planetfall, which is obviously much more complex for a child to understand, but with a little guidance from me I think he liked it. Now AoW4 is coming and I believe we can play this together as he grows up.
This is the way. My son started watching and playing AoW 3 early and he still plays strategy in between the shooting games that all his friends plays. A couple of weeks ago he started on Civilization VI and he will probably play that until AoW 4
Also pretty cool how they released the expansion pass on steam before the expansions are available for play. So we get to pay for it early, while not being able to play!

This is so great. These Tracks sends me back to my childhood games like Myst and Tone Rebellion: Leviathan or dune 2000. When you listen closely, you can hear samples from the various parts of the AoW4 series. At the same time, they manage to convey the feeling that a new chapter is about to be opened. Great work, I absolutely love the transitions and the echo. i put it right in the folder next to "kitaro" and "tangerine dream". Can't wait to play the game 🙂

This is the only AoW game that I entered with sincere interest ever since AoW 1. Unfortunately i missed AoW 3 but I can already tell that this is a game worth playing as it is. I already spent countless hours on story content. Looking forward to more.

Some of these tracks give me major Unreal Tournament and Deus Ex vibes, Alexander Brandon style. More early 2000s style synth music but with more modern instruments. The composer Michiel van den Bos I believed worked on some of those games as well, so glad he's going back to that. AoW3 I felt had a more generic fantasy style soundtrack, but this is much more unique.
I did music for both Deus Ex (Unatco, Duclare Chateau among others) and Unreal Tournament (Foregone Destruction and a whole bunch of others) so you're absolutely right :)

When Sseth linked the patchfix for AoW1 in Nov 22 I started playing with my brothers immediately via email and now we play continously for 6 months now. It's wonderful.
God I can’t wait to record this game lmao, it comes out right before a cruise I’m going on & you bet I’ll be trying my best to play as much as possible 😂
I’ve never been a fan of “dungeon synth”, but this sounds MUCH more passionate and complex than Age of Wonders 3 music imo. The first 4 tracks are kinda meh, but almost everything from Sphere of Influence onwards is amazing
Was listening before I read the dev diary, very good stuff, I could tell from listening to the undeterred tactician this was the same person who did Planetfall soundtrack

I heard bits of Battle Macabre in the trailer for AoW4... kind of sad it doesn't seem to have actually made it in the soundtrack though. That was a very nice track in all the AoW games.
Well, I was disappointed (only slightly) that it wasn't the same masterpiece that Age of Wonders 2 Shadow Magic OST was, but it's grown on me so much now that I'm actually playing the game. I find myself playing some of the more melodic tunes in my head when I'm going about the day now.
@@ratatoskr1069See the AoW 3 soundtrack for that, I'm serious. Most of the tracks there are remixes of prior pieces. If the same earlier themes were rearranged yet again, we'd be facing stagnation.
Music doesn't sound much like the music from the other three games, not bad but rather different. Guess it is just Michiel Bos being creative but stil....
I think a good first playthrough would be the Skaven ( Ratmen) they live underground and overwhelm the surface world. Essentially, to take over the whole world , having buffs like extra population, overwhelm, etc, is realistic. They would align with other evil races but just want to destroy and see themselves as the master race . The empire essentially denied the existence of ratmen to it's populace so they wouldn't panic knowing millions of them dwell Deep under the cities .
I'm wondering what song plays when you open the skill tree? It doesn't seem to be in this list (I'm fairly sure) although it's likely a variation of one of these tracks. Any help appreciated! ☺

Phenomenal stuff - incredibly hard to choose a favourite, but I really love Flourishment.
I've personally been addicted to "A Magnificent Vista", so much so that it has gotten in the way of me listening to the rest of the soundtrack.
This music is pretty cool and it's great of you to share it. But I am saddened there may not be a stream this music.
The music perfectly suits the gentle flow of the game. My favorite mood game right now. Except for the crashes. 😀

It does sound like AoE 3 but put in a blender, without any unique and awesome track, just a soundwall of AoE'ness to be honest.
