Am I the only one who thinks that scream in the start and the way he sings the chorus is just so haunting and epic. It’s kinda different from how he usually sings it, obviously because of the overdose the night before, the stress and the tour itself which destroyed his voice😢 but I feel like it almost made it sound even more badass.
Can someone explain what was up with Laynes voice in this performance? He sounds weak. Not to be negative I just didn't know if it was the drug use or if he was sick.
dickeyunplugged it is because of the night before when he and Mike were getting high with Kurt Cobain. According to Mike Starr Layne overdosed the night before and was believed to have come very close to death. I'm sure he had to have also been high during this performance because you have to keep up with it or you get very Ill. Mike speaks of it on Celebrity Rehab, if you have access to it somewhere.
I thought it was because one of his close friends/ singer had died due to an overdose? And he was crying the day before and his voice weakened. But yes i suppose youre right, i was misinformed.
