@@KndorX not a nerd, it's called correcting somebody. Discover means learning about something for the first time. For example "I just discovered this ancient artifact." It's different from "I just figured out this ancient artifact."
So if matpat didn't discover the fnaf lore, he wouldn't know any of it. Figuring out can mean bits and pieces not being figured out and put back together.
