Hearing all these positive reactions makes me so happy! I hope people support this in theaters. We need to show Hollywood we care about 2d animation!!!
Although there are a lot of CGI movies I've enjoyed (Shrek, Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3, etc.), I would love to see more 2D features that aren't anime (not that I have anything against anime) or tied to a successful animated series (The Simpsons Movie, My Little Pony the Movie, etc.). Hopefully, The Day the Earth Blew Up will spark a new trend of well done 2D features! Now, if we can only resurrect Bye Bye Bunny!

This is not audience in the common sense, this are people who are way more into movies than average people. So sure it helps it gets posetive words but so did Robot Dreams and it has´t done well so far.
I’m just happy that a traditional 2d animated movie is being shown in theaters after literally decade+ of CG films.
I mean I like how CGI is gradually getting better in realism, but they all start to blend together in style. There’s a certain magic that traditional animated movies have and it’s a gap that needed to be filled.
If anything, CG movies are trying to replicate the appeal of 2D at the moment
The perfectioning of realism was already reached by the early 2010s
When studios like Disney are forgetting why 2D animation is so cool, this trailer dropped and the animation is absolutely peak, like something you’d see out of the best of the golden ages, except without film grain.
Let’s hope Disney takes this lesson seriously and do something great with that inspiration

I'm glad this movie is getting such praise. If this keeps spreading, then maybe this'll be one 2D animated film that'll actually be a box-office hit.
Bugs and Marvin are my favorite characters, but I'm not going to complain about this!

Fingers crossed this would would bring the spark to release the other Looney Tunes movies.
The animated movies and series made by the crew of Warner Bros are amazing pieces of art, wonderful gems and masterpieces. Unfortunately many of them are going to be lost for ever and this is tragic. David Zaslav must be the most evil man in the history of Warner Bros company.
I think if this movie is this good, and gets a lot of money, WB discovery might see how good Looney Tunes is financially, and release Coyote Vs Acme.
I hope it does good in the box office. I don't want another flop like last time...

Kinda... it may look like a traditional animated movie, but I'd doubt they've drawn every-frame by hand.
I'd imagine it's still mostly "key-frames" and software does the ones in-between?
Could be wrong... be interesting to see a "making of" and see if it was fully hand-animated. But that's fairly-rare in Western animations now...
2-d animation has been back for years. We just had a 2-d animated movie weeks ago on the big screen and two older ones were rereleased just last week. Another is out next month. Last year saw about 20 2-d animated movies on the big-screen.

I'm assuming you don't mean Western ones then as I can't think of any. Wish had some 2D animation, but was otherwise CGI. Same with Spider-Verse. Migration characters had a 2D inspired look, but were still CGI. Mario was all CGI. TMNT:MM was also 3D models.
Um... The Boy and the Heron is literally the only hand-drawn movie I can think of. 🤷🏻♂️
@@dftfire Many are of course anime or overseas and stuff like the 80s transformers event a few weeks ago. Everyone forgets most anime are 2-d and some incredible animation on the big screen like boy and the heron and yes, they are big screen releases. For america the 90s lion king is getting a re-release soon by disney and isn't there that overseas 2-d robot movie coming out? If this does well at the box office maybe more studios will try 2-d again, but they need to start marketing this movie.

The clip that's been shared so far looks great! It really does look like theatrical-quality 2D that's very flowing and alive, much like their classic shorts! I can't wait to see it on the big screen!
All Looney Tunes characters know how to have fun.
I was there at that midnight screening. I never thought I'd get to sit in a cinema and see a brand-new, feature length Looney Tunes film like that, and weeks later, I'm still a little shaken by the experience (in a good way).
I was in the queue of people without reservations, just hoping to be able to grab a seat after everyone else had sat down, and to my surprise, we were allowed in fairly quickly. There were still vacant seats by the time the film started (which, for an established IP showing in Annecy, is pretty unusual). My guess is that its late night slot in the schedule either turned people off attending, or straight up eluded them entirely.
Regardless, the reaction was pretty unanimous. The crowd was roaring with laughter throughout, and everyone was abuzz as they left the theatre - so yeah, I can say the reviews are accurate. I've attended Annecy six times now, and that was an all-time highlight.

But what is hugest to me, is that I bet this film will mark the RETURN for 2D Animation!
I was already hopeful from seeing the work in progress clips, but after seeing the trailer I have no doubt that this is gonna be awesome. The animation kinda reminds me of the Clampett looney tunes cartoons and I love how expressive and fluid it is. Absolutely beyond stoked to see this.
I actually wasn't expecting for the film to already have this much praise by critics! Now I'm even more hyped for this film just from that alone. Hand drawn animation is definitely my favorite kind of animation for sure!

According to a Deadline article from yesterday, that this movie is going to be distributed by none other than Ketchup Entertainment instead of WB. This is the first “Looney Tunes” film to be distributed in the US by a different company which is not WB. The US release date is not confirmed at the moment.

Well I don’t think they had credits for the laser disc games. I animated on all 3.
Dragons 1&2 and Space Ace. Dragons 2 was never really finished. We were probably 3/4 done when we were all called into Dons office and were told they pulled the plug and everyone is laid off. The Union had to sue to get everybody’s severance pay which took years. Another animator that worked on Dragons Lair was also animating on this movie. Actually John Pomeroy did too. A lot was freelanced out all over. They listed the credits online. Do a search.

When have Daffy and his buddies never brightened up the day? I am beyond excited about this film. I was hoping they made something similar to what they used to. Instead of the psychotic looking Looney Toons, and Disney they make for the whacked generation of today!!! The Looney Toons are more entertaining than any Hollywood actor, or British actors especially, of today!!!
