Forrest, thank you for this beautiful explanation of the spiritual eye. I saw the spiritual eye soon after I started meditating 10 years ago. Because I am a hypochondriac, I feared this light, thinking it was a sign of problems with my retina. Funny how all my left-brain neuroses played out in my meditation. My dogged determination to stick it out with meditation, sans teacher, led me to you two years ago. The eye is now welcomed, and with your videos and books, I have entered into its cave and a deeper sense of letting go. Thank you, dear Forrest, for sharing your insights with us. Happy Thanksgiving!
Interesting and useful. Thanks Forest. My opinion as an electronics engineer and yogi is that the optic chiasm is also involved in the phenomenon of the spiritual eye.
Awesome, Forrest. Oddly enough, yesterday I was reading about this in your book. I have been working on expansion through the crown along with jhana 1 lately and I have to say the experience is more stable and enjoyable. Blessings and blissings!
With breathwork before meditations, I see the eye every time. At first the eye was distant, not looking at me. I seen it from the POV of laying down and it looked like it was looking across form me. Now I see it very close, my entire field of view. It smiles at me. I see white and light green light in the iris, looks like still lightening in the iris.
Also, I've had a vision of being consumed by the eye as if it was a predator. Once inside, the throat appeared as a descending hallway made of tiny mirrors that reflected different lives. I choose to continue to fall until the lives reflected were not recognizable. I seen a mirror showing a yellow slime material and I thought, Oh, that is interesting!" I touched it and became it.
@@JCImageInc. Did you consume any substance by any means? I saw the mirror thing too one time, and I could focus on a mirror and felt as if I could come to live in that mirror if I wanted to.
Hi Forrest, I noticed on another video you have an infinity symbol tattoo. Recently after adding Om Japa before my Kriya routine (initiated to Hariharanandajis lineage) I started to see the prana flow in an Infinity shape in my third eye. If i focus on it, it will flatten out and I may enter very interesting states. Can you perhaps make a video on the topic of Infinity and what it means to you? I sent an email to you a while back, i have a lot of questions that Id love to ask. Thanks :)
This is really interesting and helpful as I have been experiencing both and wasn't sure what to do with them / thought they were separate things. The spiritual eye comes and goes during meditation (I'll try welcoming it with gratitude :). Sometimes I also feel like I'm going somewhere upwards and losing the body but I haven't managed to go with it yet as it's scary and my heart just starts pounding!
@@nataliebutler this happened to me many times that the experience would frighten me at first until it happened enough times that I got used to it. Then I could accept it add move deeper🤩✨️🙏
I can tell you where the shape of the spiritual eye likely comes from, but do understand that this doesn't take away anything from the spiritual significance of the experience. At the center of our (physical) eyes there is a blind spot, where the nerve connect. As we withdraw our perception and if our blood pressure changes and raises or drops suddenly (e.g. due to deep relaxation), this blind spot (which is normally hidden to our conscious sense of seeing, as our visual cortex fill in the gaps hallucinating it) can be seen. An artificial way to have the same experience and see that blind spot, if you are willing to use a mild intoxicant, is to inhale amyl nitrite (commonly referred as poppers, sold in sexy shops around the world): the stronger versions (e.g. the Amsterdam brand) are prone to cause the appearance of a black blind spot at the center of vision. Inhale alternately from each nostril for 10 seconds at a time and hold for the same amount before exhaling, like doing pranayama, for a few times (carefully, if you never used it, your blood pressure will drop and it can be dangerous): the physiological effect will be a sudden increase of blood pressure and then a drop, [that effect impacts how the optical nerve functions], a temporary and very short high, and a drop of oxygen levels in the blood as the red blood cells will be able to absorb less oxygen (emoglobin turns into methemoglobin) which also impairs the brain [and prevent hallucinating content in the gap of the blind spot]. This is similar to some physiological effects of very deep meditation. (The other effect of this process is that you likely will be edgy and unable to meditate for a couple of days, and probably have an headache the next day...intoxicant are poison). So (I think), the shape of the third eye visions come from the last moment when we withdraw awareness from our sense of vision. If we become determined to chase it, we actually bring attention back outwards and go in the wrong direction. If we don't chase, the shape remains with us and imprints on our visions.
The several times I saw it Iwas not even thinking about meditation. Normaly I was doing something like cleaning the house or walking the dogs. The first time I saw it I was cleaning my floor and listening to a book through Alexa (a Vivekananda one). Didn't know much about yoga etc. I was starting my journey, I was extremely afraid after I saw it. I thought it as a serious problem with my sight. Even went to a doctor. It was a scary experience to me because I knew nothing about it.
Hi Forrest, I have been initiated and have been practicing for 10 months now. This lineage also emphasises on spritual eye. I haven't experienced any light at all. I have felt that my inner monologue has changed. I used to wonder about my purpose in life and what not. With regular kriya practice and regular free intense movement practice, I have reached a point where I don't care about my purpose, my goals. I am not lazy and still want to improve at my work (engineering) and have material comforts. Since the lineage places such importance on fireworks in the brain, I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or is it all alright?
Thank you, Forrest. You have a great way of explaining all this that is simple to understand. I have a question: Lately, in meditation, both laying down and sitting, I get the sensation of my eyes rolling up and back behind. Then I go into complete relaxation. Is this the roll-up of consciousness you speak about? I also wear a mask to sleep now, and become aware when I wake up without moving. It feels like my eye location is at that same spot when I am lucid between wake and sleep states. What exactly is that when we can get to that state in meditation?
Hello Forrest, I have a question. After finishing kriya pranayama when I meditate(in paravastha) where should I concentrate. Should I concentrate on the third eye between the eye brows or should it be on the fontanel, on the crown chakra. Please share your thoughts.
Thank you Forrest. Your videos are so very helpful. My experience was being asleep in bed and awakening to the most intense white light imaginable flooding my eyes?I flung both forearms over my eyes to try to stop the vision. Would this be the spiritual eye being active?
After kind of getting used to it a rotation started around it and eventually forms a purple vortex and I go right in there and it takes me places or sometimes it’s like an actual eye.. But My question is sometimes it’s like the light is there bright but like it’s at angle ? Sometimes with geometric shadows off of it When it’s like that the vortex never comes what does that mean?
Kinda unrelated to the video, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I remember watching one of your videos where you talk about a method where you "OM" into negative emotions to dissolve them, but I can't seem to find that video anymore. Did I completely misremember and make this up, or is this an actual technique you taught?
is it possible to enter the spiritual eye even when it is kinda blurry? this may be a better question to ask for the next satsang but thought i'd post it here
Is the literal giant eye considered the spiritual eye too? or just a vision? i did see the purple little light but compared to the "real eye" there wasn't so much of "woah" feeling
@@sedact yes that's one of the ways it will appear to people. I forgot to mention this. There is a part of the brain that will see faces in just about everything. This is how we can see faces in the clouds and this is how we are able to see an actual eye in the spiritual eye✨️🙏🤩
Hi my name is Matt, and I have a quick question regarding one of your books. I have the first one and I’m trying to learn the hamsah meditation, I need help understanding letting the breath in passively, because whenever I try to do it it feels As tho I am still guiding the breath, or I am the one breathing still, how do you learn this conscious passivity of breath? I let the exhale out but I cannot let the inhale come in on its own accord I end up just breathing in and out again. Is there a secret? Is there some kind of trick?
