+1. The newfound Leather interior appears original. #265 Creme Beige Leather. .. My MY94 W124 E-320 Coupe has this interior; with Smoke Silver metallic #702.
That color and the interior you picked will go together perfectly. As much as you like it as well I'd say this one is a keeper. Ferrari for the spirited drive, Benz for the cruise. Thanks for sharing 👍
Your working so hard on this one, well done Jack the car is looking incredible. I have a lifelong battle with injuries from a car accident so doubt i will ever get to do this sort of stuff again so really appreciate you taking the time to share your projects with us all.
It's coming on nicely Jack, lovely shade of blue but I must say, I like the cloth interior a lot more than that leather one you just got, looking forward to the next one!!!
I mentioned on your Instagram that I really love the cloth interior. Call me strange but we only get leather in the states. We’re so used to leather and automatic that the cloth and manual ones are so rare and valuable. But love what your doing. Very fun and enjoyable to be here for the trip.
Great project update mate, it will look stunning when complete. But please keep the cloth interior. Save yourself a load of hassle and it will look better than the leather
Nice to see this C124 getting some love. I'm glad that your experience of Jasmine aka "Fraubenz" has been somewhat more satisfactory than my own!! Good luck with the rest of the build.
Terriffic progress. Very interesting. The badly sun faded paint on my 1990 300E 24 Valve is gradually being covered with the most appallingly inept painting, using a roller. We are going in opposite directions. Great to see how it should be done. Bravo, as usual Sir. Bravo! Good to see you enjoying the results too.
Lovely colour. Heck of a lot of work mate. Well done on the detail. I've had a bit of painstaking work to do on the gta. I rolled into someone about 4weeks ago, in that snow, that fateful Friday. Cracked the bumper, broke a xenon. Trying to find a xenon is like finding hen's teeth!! Had to buy a pre face-lift Halogen, split it for the lens and insert. Inset is silver so had to get rid of said silver and paint Matt black. Sourced a Xenon....from Romania of all places! Tbf, I got lucky and, the forum is such a great place for difficulties such a this. The new Xenon though, has been ungraded to face-lift! It arrived yesterday. I need to (very carefully) split it, then re glue the bits in that I took off the halogen light. What a bother.....! It's just the love of the car 🙂. Sorry for going on a bit, just sharing with someone who probably nods away when reading my woes lolol 😅
Great stuff Jack. Talk about ‘mission creep’…😀 so glad you are going for a proper job on the old warhorse though, she deserves it. I can only imagine the satisfaction you must have felt seeing that lovely shade of blue going on, as I did after watching you do all the tedious prep. Literally cannot wait to see the next instalment, as a lover of the 124’s this for me is fast becoming your best project yet!
Seems we all agree your colour is very suitable. Personally, I think the leather will really complement it. You'll want to keep this one, I reckon. Great progress!
Great job - it so going to be worth the effort and a great job at getting all the trim off. Having had the leather on several Mercs - I actually like the retro look of the material seats.
The colour you've chosen doesn't look very far away from the dark blue metallic that a lot of W124's were in. I had a '93 E320 Coupe in that, with a mushroom leather interior and its a combination that works really well. The bumpers and door/wing bottom cladding should be satin, not fully lacquered to a high shine. That'll be as close to original as you can get it. Looking excellent so far 👍
You're really earning this one! Good enough just isn't good enough when it comes to surface prep and you're putting in the elbow grease. I think the Blue & tan will be a nice combo when it's together. Nice work Jack, make sure you get some rest and don't overdo it.
So I finally feel like making my first comment on your channel! It was your 205 that brought me here and I have been following you since then. But I have to give you full kudos for taking on the full paint job yourself! Something I have always wanted to do, but my cahonees were only big enough to take on single parts, like wings etc! I am eager to see how the paint performs in the good old British climate - but very well done so far!
That colour bid stunning. Have a a couple of met blue with cream/beige/tan interior, it's an amazing combo. Hell of a lot of prep work, no wonder good paint jobs cost so much
Holding the spray gun with both hands like it was a luger lol. I get why you handed over to the painter, it's not as easy as people think. Looks good 👍.
Those ramps are awesome. Unfortunately I don't have use of a garage and wouldn't fancy dragging those out onto the driveway every time I needed to use them.
LOL. POR 14? Must have had an older bottle huh? I think you are doing the right thing with this car. You're returning it to it's luxury roots but not overdoing it as far as costs go. I like the color too. Can't wait to see it done.
Good darts Jack, keep up the good work. PS, can you imagine the neighbours?!! "Some bloke has moved in with all these junk cars lowering the tone of the village!!!" 😂😂😂
In any case, there is no doubt that when the W124 coupe is finished, you will have one of the finest and most classic 80s cars available at the time. Few cars have withstood the test of time better than the W124 coupe (or more correctly C124) and the car is absolutely beautiful when it appears respectable and in good condition. The M103 engine is nice even today and it is a classic self-breathing and powerful straight six as they were. Unfortunately, they do not make such engines anymore.
Perfect colour for a Mercedes Jack, at least you tried to paint. I think its definitely a talent you either have or you don't, and you can always tell a bad one from a good one when it's finished.
You have put so much heart into this car, it is hard to imagine that it won't become the keeper that becomes your daily driver. You have done a remarkable job. Watching this car come together, and your enjoyment of it, is a real pleasure.
Watching this, makes me want to have a go at painting myself… but I guess knowing someone with a pro set-up like your pal is essential for a good finish
I can really see what you mean by mission creep. When that car is painted you will be albe to help yourself fixing every little mechanical grumble :} Great progress and a lovely colour
Looks amazing Jack cant wait for the end result, I'm surprised you did all the sanding by hand i know how much effort goes into that fair play to you. To do the whole car an orbital sander would have saved you a lot of time and energy before you got to the wet sanding stage. I would love to paint a car myself one day, I've only ever done rattle can jobs on small parts and it takes a huge amount of effort just to get those perfect.
The interior colour is called mushroom and it transforms the interior! Perfect colour combo just like my friends coupe although his has the rare amg aero 3 bodykit which imo makes the car but this just needs wither standard 16s diamond cut finish back on or so 18s monoblocks with a slight drop in height and will look mega. Think you have added real value too this car and they are holding money when the right spec
Fantastic progress that surely shows what can be done by one man and a sanding block. You need to polish up your spraying technique however but that will come hopefully as you continue further restorations. Cant wait to see the next episode
All those hours sanding.... Mr. Miyagi would be proud!
Wow, what a lot of work, and you manage to keep your good humour! Well done.

Agreed. That color combo is primo.
Am glad you said "paint" job!
Gorgeous colour, literally perfect. Car will look amazing, well done for saving the car!
Man if that blue looks good. With the beige leather interior, it’s going to look great. Well done 👍
Your working so hard on this one, well done Jack the car is looking incredible. I have a lifelong battle with injuries from a car accident so doubt i will ever get to do this sort of stuff again so really appreciate you taking the time to share your projects with us all.

We're all loving the mission creep on this one Jack (at your expense of course) 😂
I feel sorry for your right shoulder, Jack! Excellent prep work.
Wow, what a transformation, looking forward to further progress. 👍
You're such a happy chap, it's rather inspiring.
Navy and tan.
Nice combo.
Great project update mate, it will look stunning when complete. But please keep the cloth interior. Save yourself a load of hassle and it will look better than the leather
Can’t wait to see it in that blue
So glad you’ve got stuck in to this one
Love these projects
great work and already the transformation is impressive. getting an expert is always worthwhile in the end....
Love the colour Jack. Bismerc will be a great daily for you when she's all done.
Nice to see this C124 getting some love. I'm glad that your experience of Jasmine aka "Fraubenz" has been somewhat more satisfactory than my own!! Good luck with the rest of the build.
OMG! That is looking gorgeous! What a colour. Will be set off so nicely with that interior. Great job. 👍🏼
Big transformation, was good to watch you swing the paint gun too. Nice color choice too.
This car is going look sick when done love watching your videos mate love this car these cars are rare mate I would keep this one mate
That blue with cream interior 👌🏼 can’t wait to see it finished
Simply wow! That blue matches so well with the classic lines👌😃
Thank you so much 😀

I have similar seats. While they are cozy in your warm house they will really love you back if you take the chance to condition them a few times.
All too recognizable! Good for you to do this, the car will be ever grateful ...
looks so much better... with that interior upgrade too it's going to be a lovely place to sit

A proper cliffhanger! Great job Jack, looking forward to the end result
It is fun to watch you take this on and I am looking forward to the final result. Put me down as another person who prefers the cloth interior.
Yes love the colour with the tan interior going to complement lovely... Love watching this beauty come back too life well done mate
Brilliant video Jack can’t wait for the next one ! Love the colour and with that cream leather that’s gonna be lux 🤙
Leave the cloth interior in it. It looks gorgeous with the new color. Tan leather interiors are a dime a dozen...
Brilliant! It’s going to look stunning! So impressed Jack and right behind you! Way better than the tomato!
Glad you went with the Blue Metallic. Great choice. Coming on fella. 👍👍
Lovely blue paint on BisMerc Jack a great transformation 👍👍👍👍👍👍

Wowowow🤩🤩🤩 perfect color on the benz👍🏻
Wow! That’s coming along very nicely - superb colour!
Looks a million times better already Jack. She'll look amazing when fully finished. That new jack of yours looks excellent!
The colour and interior will look superb together
I once owned an '87 Merc 560 SEC with that dark blue paint. Just lovely! I can't wait to see it finished!!

Wow !! What a colour absolutely loving this great progress mate
Good to see that nice old Mercedes finally gets the justice it deserves. Can't wait to see what it looks like when the paintjob is done.
You're really earning this one! Good enough just isn't good enough when it comes to surface prep and you're putting in the elbow grease.
I think the Blue & tan will be a nice combo when it's together. Nice work Jack, make sure you get some rest and don't overdo it.
I’m absolutely riveted to your channel to see the final product! What a transformation! We are all rooting for you, Jack!

After you sanded it, it looked like my factory finish! :D
Orbital sander Jack saves you so much time used them on many dodgy paint jobs on cars saves so much time ,your gonna end up with a big right arm
It's interesting to see your affection for this car growing, you won't want to say goodbye to it
Beautiful colour, should suit the car really well 👍
So happy you decided not to do the rattle can thing!
Brilliant, really enjoyed this episode Jack, can’t wait for the big reveal
The dark is good, and with the leather interior it will transform the car!
Gorgeous blue, Jack 😊
Love the colour combo, your doing great 👍
Keep at it Jack it’s coming on 👍👍👍
The BisMerc is going to look amazing when finished - especially with that new interior.
Holding the spray gun with both hands like it was a luger lol. I get why you handed over to the painter, it's not as easy as people think. Looks good 👍.

The car will look great after the blue paint is on and the cream leather seats and door cards are in.What a transformation.Well done.
Looking good Jack, your hard work has paid off, can't wait for final result!
Wow!, that blue is perfect in combination with that new leather interior.
Great blue colour- already liking it.
What a transformation. Well done Jack 👏. Can't wait to see the finished results. 😃
Looking good. I built a model kit 190e 35 years or so ago, and used a very similar colour.
Good darts Jack, keep up the good work. PS, can you imagine the neighbours?!! "Some bloke has moved in with all these junk cars lowering the tone of the village!!!" 😂😂😂
Amazing transformation already, it's going to look very tidy when you have finished it all.

I can't believe that this historic paint job got painted over.
Great work Jack. You won’t want to sell it when it’s finished.
Great decision Jack 👍
Perfect colour for a Mercedes Jack, at least you tried to paint. I think its definitely a talent you either have or you don't, and you can always tell a bad one from a good one when it's finished.
Love it. Obsessive, but great! Can't believe how much I am looking forward to seeing more progress.
You have put so much heart into this car, it is hard to imagine that it won't become the keeper that becomes your daily driver. You have done a remarkable job. Watching this car come together, and your enjoyment of it, is a real pleasure.

Great video! Blue looks good and I'm really glad you are getting rid of the cloth interior. Can't wait to see it finished!
All those hours: just shows that a decent repaint costs more than you would think. That blue looks georgoeus 👍
Gorgeous
Man! That is a Nice shade of blue. I'm sure all your prep work will pay off in the end.👍
Looks a millions times better fantastic Content to watch really enjoying the transformation
