Daniel Mazzola it's not about talent , chester was very talented it's about impact and legacy. Freddy was a Icon someone that died 30 years ago and is still just as popular. Freddy transcended music , chester didn't. When Freddy died everyone mourned and was crush with chester it was mostly the rock community.

I always thought Yellowcard was just "okay", and I knew nothing about any of the band members. But seeing this... while everyone is doing tribute covers of their most famous songs, like Crawling and Numb, Ryan does a cover of a more obscure song. Which also happens to be one of my favorite Linkin Park songs ever. And (like many LP songs I suppose) is relevant to what happened. AND he did it while only having one day to get ready, meaning he probably already knew most of the lyrics. Yes, I'm in tears watching this, but Ryan now has a ton of respect from me. Thank you for your tribute, sir; I'm sure Chester would have loved it

I just want to add that Yellowcard has done a lot of stuff very similar to Shadow of the Day. They were a very talented band and very worth checking out. It's still my favorite band, I can only recommend. If you are more into slower music Lift a Sail, Lights and Sounds or the self-titled album (Yellowcard) are probably more your taste, but if you love pop-punk in it's nature, Ocean Avenue, When you're through thinking say yes or Southern Air will be for you. I personally love all of it.
I wouldn't say Shadow of hte Day is obscure, but I love that they did one of their more low-key, somber songs. It's definitely one of LP's most emotional songs imo.

It's so beautiful to see all these bands linkin parks career grew with from pop punk band alike yellow card to blink 182 and nu metal bands even thirty seconds to mars even some celebrities it's like all these late 90's bands were a family and when one of them goes they all acknowledge it it's so awesome

i remember the first time i listened to linkin park and hearing chester's voice. it was the first time i felt so moved by someones voice. i know many people criticized their latest album but what most people don't truly understand is that he always sang what he always felt. thats what made him so powerful.....he put himself in his lyrics he laid out exactly what he felt at the time everytime he sang...we have lost someone who truly could change our society with just his voice R.I.P Chester we will always think of you and what you meant to all of us

This is amazing. Thank you for sharing this. I was fortunate to be able to see LP live 5 times so far, and my favourite moment was in Toronto, just after Minutes to Midnight was released. Chester and Mike did an acoustic version of Shadow of the Day and the power that was coming off the stage from Chester's voice was incredible. There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

I WILL DEFINITELY MISS CHESTER!!! My daughter who's 14 watch the tribute last night. She told me daddy I grew up listening to linkin Park. I would blast the stereo while listening to my Linkin Park cds. I burned those songs every day! It was a special moment that I shared last night with my oldest. We definitely made a donation to the 1 light foundation and brought Official Linkin Park Merchandise from the Linkin Park store. I encourage everyone to donate something. It was definitely an uplifting and touching tribute. One last note Ryan I never heard of you but you might have a spot if they are looking for someone to fill those big shoe's Chester left behind.
