  • From the lost archives of Genesis P. Orridge: Just as relevant now as then, if not more so. BETTER SOUND VERSION: • Genesis P-Orridge on F...
    Avantgarde artist, industrial music pioneer, mind explorer and TOPY-founder G.P.Orridge expresses concerns @ 20 years ago about state oppression on freedoms of individual thought and action, particularly through art.
    The english entrepreneur and network-builder interviewed on his 1976 court case in which, as an artist, he was theatened to become a "non-representative person" and set under arrest by the UK-government.
    This rarely edited 1986 version is from the lost archives of Genesis P. Orridge who's message from then is even more actual in times of the msm propaganda and the internet.

    Thank you for sharing this. He was the same age there as I am now. I've been a fan of Throbbing Gristle for many years since my uncle use to play it for an under 10 year old me back in the 80's. I've never heard Genesis speak much up until recently. Amazing forward thinking person. Really enjoying going back now and exploring all of everything they were attached to. Just opening up the vault of Psychic TV.
    I was a confused kid like most growing up and now i've gone through the many skins of who I am and am proud of where I am now and how I view things. My views seem to line up with similar views they have. I'm not heavy into art or the art world but I appreciate the bottom line of what they appear to be trying to convey which is everything is love and don't be scared to try anything....give everything for what you believe. Universal thoughts
    I enjoy how they talk from the heart. Natural. Elegant.
    I have no idea why I posted that but if you are still reading then thank you and thanks again for the uploads.

      I've been listening to Throbbing Gristle since 1980 and so glad they got together and decided be unlike any other and be open to all idea's, how to live, how to think, unfortunately so many people have closed minds , we live for a short time and few people want to explore

    wonder if you've got it. Channel 4 in UK did a selection of shows called Disinformation
    each week someone new was Interviewed, one being Gen. It was about 2002

    • @PyromaniaArts
      @PyromaniaArts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well I know that BBC channel 4 IS a disinformation channel. It was responsible for a weird TOPY-resentation with fake "witnesses" and crying babies (filmed in their studio). Although the film-cew was discredited (afterwards), the film screened on national TV lead to the P.Orridges exile in the USA (1991). MAYBE the interview was re-transmitted in 2002 but this recording I dubbed from a video at the TOPY house in Brighton, UK before 1989. For sure!

    • @skawashers
      @skawashers 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pyromania Arts Foundation
      disinfo TV was something different than the TOPY scandal thought up by channel 4
      Disinfo TV was a show on channel 4 Presented by Richard Metzger who interviewed counter culture people.
      Gen. Grant Morrison, Joe Coleman, etc

    pyromania do you happen to have TG's tv interview with bill grundy - if I'm not wrong ait should be around 76, soon after ICA

    • @PyromaniaArts
      @PyromaniaArts  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      SOrry I dont, as many old recordings never got digitized. A user named Neil Megson wrote: Two weeks before the infamous Sex Pistols / Bill Grundy Today programme swear-fest, the industrial music group Throbbing Gristle were invited onto Grundy's Today show to discuss their controversial exhibition and performance at the I.C.A. in London - which had led to its own media furore amid headlines such as "The Wreckers Of Civilisation". Apparently Grundy attempted to provoke TG into some "outrageous" behaviour, but the group refused to play along and instead sipped cups of tea and gave thoughtful and polite answers to the questions put to them. Do any clips from this interview survive, video or audio, perhaps taped off-air ? This would be fascinating for any number of reasons - and would also shed light into whether Grundy and the Today programme were really trying to provoke a "Filth And The Fury" incident, and that when TG failed to provide what was required, the Sex Pistols had to be called on. I haven't been able to find an exact date for this, but would estimate about 18th November 1976.missingepisodes.proboards.com/thread/6293/bill-grundy-show-throbbing-gristle
