    Thank you so much for making this! To get the same amount of information from other tutorials one has to watch like three or four but you combine it all into one video. Whenever I watch other tutorials there remain so many questions in my head but yours answers them all. I love that you show different approaches and make it easy to find the most fitting one. Your tutorials and suits are definitely amongst the best. Thank you for taking the time to make these I can imagine that it takes a lot of time to film and edit these.

    the placement of the eyes (the center) WAS SO SMART AND HELPFUL. I'm a fursuit maker for some years now and was looking to improve a couple things so I came to this video, OH MY GOD. Yes. Ive struggled with my suits looking somewhat cross eyes as well and too could not put my finger on why it looked so off and THIS VIDEO WAS SO HELPFULL. Dude I would pay for that one tip alone (moving them more towards the middle) you saved me. *EDIT; OMG THE "angry" style tip was SO HELPFUL AS WELL. Ive actually been thinking about this one for a while and seeing someone else point out that YES this IS how you should actually be doing it just makes me so happy. The eye painting tip as well ugh I'm crying over here. years of pain and struggle coming to an end

    I finished my first actual head recently and while the eyes had looked fine when I was actually cutting them out and putting in the mesh, the actual suit itself turned out severely cross eyed and the eyes just ruined the magic of this first fursuit head. You're tutorials have been my favorite thing to watch on youtube, so full of valuable information for new makers like myself! I really like that you fill it with all kinds of helpful information and add lots of explanation and reasoning for how you do things. This'll be very helpful for when I make some follow-me eyes from plastic, I've known that method before but I have yet to see a tutorial like this for it. Is there any chance you would make a tutorial for 2D eyes? Or perhaps a video explaining how to install the eyes when it comes to that point in making? I have always had lots of stress for that part of the build because I don't really know a good way to do it and often mess up. Anyways, thank you again for another amazing tutorial, Freckled Cat!

    • @freckledcatcreations

      ooh, to make sure you have room for glasses just make sure the bucket head circumference fits your head circumference WITH glasses on! and then just put a little forehead padding of 1" foam inside to push the head away from your face so your glasses arent pushed into your eyes.

    • @freckledcatcreations
      @freckledcatcreations  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    hey! question--im thinking of allowing myself better vision, so instead of using craft foam for the sclera i'll use white mesh. can you hot glue the craft foam (the sides, the long rectangles) onto the mesh itself for that follow-me eyes look? and is there anything different i should do? thanks so much! the video has been a big help and i appreciated the painting tips!

    • @freckledcatcreations
      @freckledcatcreations  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ooh, I do the same thing with my 3d printed ones when people want all mesh - but I never thought of doing all mesh with the foamies.... they are already really soft and flexible so making the sclera all mesh might totally weaken the structural integrity. hey !! i have another question-- so at 6:00 in the video, i see you using e6000 to glue the felt to the side of the 3d printed eyes---should i also use e6000 glue to glue the mesh to the back of the eye? or perhaps hot glue would work too?^^
    im not too great with knowing what glue works best for what XD

    • @freckledcatcreations
      @freckledcatcreations  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, I put e6000 and hot glue together because I'm not entirely sure how well hot glue sticks to the plastic! but e6000 takes a while to fully cure. so I did both for good measure lol. honestly after the eyes are glued in you shouldnt have to worry about the mesh being pulled away off the eye plastic, that could only happen if someone intended to try and take the suit apart - it wont detach from hot glue just with normal wear.

    I'm playing around with how eyes are made though, like materials. I'm trying to go for see through eyes so you wouldn't need a handler
    so far, I'm using mirror tint covered with sheer chiffan to make the sclera and then screen gel-transparency print paper for the iris of the eyes. like, it has really good visio when I'm not using the sheer chiffan which would mean any suit that has a black sclera or other color sclera would be great with this but I haven't figured a good alternative for the white.

    Hello! I’m not sure if you would still reply to this comment, but I’m curious about the fully mesh eyes! My character has colored scleras and smaller eyes, so I figured a fully mesh eye with plastic around the outside would be perfect for him and getting better visibility. Wouldn’t just the mesh glued to plastic be too flimsy? Would the plastic want to bounce back to being straight? I feel like it would be difficult to get it to maintain the right shape if its just glued to mesh, but im not sure. I have the materials for it but too scared to execute it because I havent found any in depth tutorial online. Thank you so much! Your videos are so helpful to me as someone who is so intimidated by the lack of science when it comes to fursuit making, and your precise way of doing things is helping me make my first suit! ^^

      so sorry for getting to this late! I had that same concern, so basically you do want the thickness of the 'eye walls' to be thick enough to have enough glue to hold the mesh there. I've made 2 more sets of all-mesh following eyes since then and they still work! Once they're set into the head they'll be receiving much less stress and poking for the mesh to get unstuck anyway.

    I just want to say that your videos are so helpful! I'm currently trying to make a pair of these myself, and the glue simply isn't sticking to the plastic. Do you have any tips for making it stick? I was either going to get the foam for the walls of the eye, or have a friend 3d print it, but maybe there's a way to make it stick better?

    • @freckledcatcreations
      @freckledcatcreations  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm, if the glue isn't sticking to the plastic maybe try sanding the plastic first to give the glue something rougher to stick to? Otherwise maybe you'll have to go another route. I'm not sure of other glues that might work here.

I've tryed to find a way to mak the curve of the 3d printed eye with basic materiel but since I havnt find it 🤷🏻‍♂️. I think the easiest way to make it without the 3d printer is the 3d pen.

      it helps visibility out of the mesh! try it yourself, look thru white mesh and then look thru mesh that has the back painted black. the light reflects off the mesh less if its black. same reason sports players paint black things under their eyes. it absorbs glare!
