Clipse "Lord Willin" album classic
Door panels full of shit and I ain't full of shit!
One give you the sniffles, the other leave you wit the itches
Rappers is talkin' to me as if we in the same boat I tell them quick NO I MOVE COKE
I actually want Ahmad to react to the Exclusive Audio Footage album.
That’s the hardest song on that album
Also this was about Wayne wearing BAPE and dressing like them after meeting them. Well…the public thought so any way. But Clipse said it was about anybody but if the shoe fits then wear it. Wayne DEFINITELY felt it was about him and then dissed them in a magazine interview. And it was up from there.
Technically I would say Birdman’s “what happened to that boy” was the start of the beef since Birdman supposedly didn’t pay Pharrell for the beat
Good point!
Beat was so futuristic when it dropped, and still sounds fresh til this day 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The HOOK is the diss.
The Clipse were accusing Lil Wayne for biting everything rapping about and how he was dressing like them with the Bape gear and so forth. It wasn't the lyrics itself but the HOOK.
Hell hath no fury is such a banger of an album. Some of the best production the neptunes have done imo
And we aint gon talk about how Malice/NO Malice slid on this
I put that album and the Cold Vein as the best produced hiphop albums of all time. Nothing sounded like them before it.
The hook is for Wayne because in a magazine they ask him about the Clipse and Pharrell and them wearing Bape which they was wearing first and Pharrell brought the whole skateboard thing into Hiphop that’s why he called his self skateboard P and Wayne basically said when they wear Bape nobody cares when I wear it’s the shit and he also said in that same interview what the fuck is a Clipse and if you notice Wayne started doing the skateboard thing shortly after so that’s why the record is called Mr Me Too
Gillie was definitely a staff writer on Cash Money...how much he wrote and for who is anyones giess especially if it was uncredited....but you can hear the swtich up in Wayne flow after the fact....and he was even roccin Gillie chain in a video before too🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Exactly, I'm from Philly. It was a article in the papers about all the different artist signing to different labels and that's littleraly what he was signed to do. And like boy said Wayne whole style switched up on the first Carter album.
Ab-Liva(dope ass rapper) was in Gillie's group Major Figaz and Clipse's group The Re-Up Gang. They been connected.
Ab is too ill and SO UNDERRATED. Man, I wish the Re-up Gang coulda got bac together.
Roscoe P. Coldchain was the shit too!!
Most beef starts as miscommunications but instead of getting on the phone and talking they jump out the window and put a song out. Now they got everybody and they mama in their ear gassing stuff up when it really could’ve been easily squashed.
If this ain't the truth 💯
Though going back far enough, getting ahold of someone might be kinda weird. Do you use a phone book? Ask a PR rep? Would have been mad awkward 😅
It’s crazy cuz Wayne and Pharrell love each other.
Speaking of Gillie Da Kid, you should check out his diss tracks to Wayne "Frontin Like Ya Daddy" & "Cannon"...them joints were some heat
Gillie and Clips been cool since the 90’s. It’s due time for you to due some album reviews for Clipse.
You should do the song "wamp wamp" too, it came out around the same time
Lord Willin’ album reaction please.
He already did that
Malice killed this song. So excited for the new Clipse album
that puff line didn’t age well🤣🤣🤣
At all 😭😭😭
still a legend his music will still bang though is what is
@@ryanr20091facts, that Puffy Forever album is stupid 🔥
Hell hath no fury reaction. We need it now fam!!
Keys open doors keys open doors
Whole song itself is the diss; Pharrell and Clipse were the first wearing Bape and BBC in the rap world, since they're Pharell's brands, and the Cash Money crew started wearing them afterwards. Pharrell sponsored skaters back in the day and had them all in videos, then Wayne started doing that, too.
The beat for "What Happened to that Boy" is a Pharrell beat and word is Baby didn't pay for the beat, too 👀
Respect, King! ✊🏿
Major Figgaz and Clipse were tight back then.
The Burrrrr line was a reference to a Dancehall song from a guy named Nardo by that name
Gillie definitely did ghost wrote for some Wayne’s tracks! If you were around back then you know! 👌🏾
Bro on the part where he talked about him and puff hopping off the plan laughing and when you died i died too , I was screaming bro 😂
Let me correct myself, the Wayne vibe magazine article actually came out first. April of 2006, where he was talking crazy about the Clipse and Pharrell. It’s still up on google, btw. Clipse dropped Mr Me Too the very next month in May of 2006. So it’s likely that this was a response to that and not the other way around.
1:58 lmao when I heard that 50 Cent's voice popped in my head "was Puffy playing with your booty?" XD
I heard this song a bunch of times and never caught any lines either, but understanding the theme of the song it could be a subliminal only a few get of them saying he stealing their style and aesthetics.
To be fair some ghost writers weren't really successful in their music career but can write a hit song if its delivered by someone with a voice or style that fits it and has a bigger audience
Straight classic
A CLASSIC
Mr. Me Too is Lil Wayne. The song is about him
This is my tune 🔥🔥🔥 the bassline
Album was a banger. Clispe was connected to Philly way before a Wayne beef. An Liva who’s in Re Up was in Major Figgas with Gillie
You gotta do a live reaction to the entirety of We got it 4 Cheap vol 2 if you haven’t already 💯 that shit better than most rappers’ albums and it’s neck and neck with the best rap albums of the 2000s
They are calling Wayne Mr. Me Too bc he became a Coke rapper and started rocking Bape like them.
King Ahmad 💪🔥
The beat on this is crazy! Thanks, also please react to Geto Boys - Scarface from their album Grip It! On That Other Level
This is a not a diss, its just a 🔥🔥 classic
He NEVER said he wrote hits for Wayne. He said he helped his flow and gave him advice on flows and advice on business. As far as Gillie’s own hits? It’s plenty writers that don’t make albums like other ppl but write hits. Gillie was hanging with Clipse because Roscoe P Chain is from Philly so that’s where the Clipse/Philly Connection comes from and Ab-Liva who was apart of Major Figgas with Gilly was also signed to Star Trak with the Clipse, which is Pharrell’s label. Come on man!!!!! The whole chorus is the DISS!!!!!!
I thought the beef started bc of What Happened To That Boy. Cash Money didn't want to pay for that beat. Somehow it turned into some kinda of argument about who made BAPE famous (Wayne claimed it was him, Pharrell claimed it was him). "Mr. Me Too" is basically calling Wayne a biter, that's why Gillie is in the video, too.
Gillie said he wrote for Wayne, but from what I heard, Gillie helped Wayne update his flow and pen game from his earlier days to what we got on Tha Carter. But he didn't actually write for Wayne. And Wayne evolved his style after Tha Carter 2 into something that was totally different. And, like you said, Gillie couldn't make his own hit to save his life.
It's honestly kinda ironic that Wayne was basically being called a swagger jacker/biter for updating his flow to a more East Coast flow and taking styles from Pharrell. Bc Wayne signed the chameleon/swagger jacker in Drake. It's also funny that Drake bought all of Pharrell's jewelry when Pharrell auctioned it off on some Mr. Me Too shit. Then said he melted it all down, which is disrespectful to hip-hop history but I'm sure he thought he was showing loyalty to Wayne (who probably doesn't care either way since he doesn't care about anything. Then he turned around and showed he lied about doing that bc he put all that jewelry in the Family Matters video lol. Ultimate colonizer move.
Actually it’s 6 degrees of separation. Gillie more than likely was in the video because his mans from his old group wit rapper Ab-Liva, was signed to the clipse re up gang records. Just a fun fact.
Awesome reaction🔥
another suggestion: No Gimmicks - Lord Finesse (feat. KRS One)
Gille the Kid? The same one who made a song called the "Chicken Man" ain't neva wrote for Wayne ain't no way 🤣🤣🤣
"Brrr like this Nardo" refers to the VW Nardo supercar. Never heard anything that would start beef either. Unless someone thought he was Mr. Me Too...
Then this is definitely a double then. Because it's also a reference from an artist by the name of nardo ranks, song name is burrup in which nardo says "woman if you love me,please let me know" which is pusha's next line. I haven't watched the video, so if this is mentioned already, my bad lol
@@Vinnyhiphop732 Yeah, definitely a double.
Street Smartz - «Metal Thangz (feat. O.C. & Pharoahe Monch)
You got to do Tru Masta P Tru 2 tha game album
VA shit! 💪🏾🔥
It's a combo of Wayne Vibe interview downplaying the clipse and Baby not paying Pharrell for the what happened to that boy that started the beef. But this was the 1st recorded shot I believe.
Check out Automatic by Sirreal
you should listen to fronting like your daddy by Gillie the kid
It’s funny that wearing Bape is part of the beef. Yet Wayne got that swag from Curren$y who was signed to Young Money in like 2004
I really think the song that started it all was the "Control" verse Kendrick spit on Big Sean's song in 2013! He called out Drake and a BUNCH of other rappers. But Drake took it real personal! Then, listen to the TDE freestyle on the BET Cypher. Kendrick went last and talked shit about Drake indirectly, but we all knew who he was talking about 😂😂😂.I truly believe this beef been cooking for over a decade!
Check out The Clipse -The funeral .... there first video released .... Fireeeeeee
U tellin me damian Gillard was in the vid the whole time
Can you react to Ufo Fev "Fast Life" produced by Fredro Starr of ONYX
Pharrell used to be BAPE down, and by relation, so were the Clipse at times. Pharrell was "Skateboard P". Wayne started wearing BAPE and bringing skateboarding into his persona. "Mr. Me Too" was a shot at him because of an interview where he tried to downplay these Virginia cats and their influence. Wayne noticed and took it personally, and that sparked shit between the camps.
Crazy how Drake & Pharrell have barely ever worked together.
They have worked together on several songs...
@@darrenharris3434 i guess you are right. Nothing notable, but I guess they have once or twice. I'll correct that.
Have you don Exodus by Pusha
U should Do the Wu Tang All Stars Soul In The Hole . Real Hip Hop N Hoops
It's not Pharrell it's the Neptunes ...
Pharrell and Chad Hugo
This beef started because Birdman didn’t pay Pharrell for a beat.
Gotta do Hunger for more by Lloyd Banks
Wayne went from crip to blood over night
It’s the Mr Me too and how they talking about they got money and women like them too.
fireman is gillie's whole flow
This is a Neptune's beat not a Pharrelll beat. Huge difference. That neck snap for the beat is all Chad Hugo. Pharrell just did the melodies back then.
Can you react to Eminem Quitter Ft D12 diss to Everlast prob one of the greatest t diss tracks
Now that Drake bought Pharrell chains I would say he's Mr Me Too. I loved this song when it was popular
I remember having this on my playlist for years, beat crazy. What does this song have to do with Drake? Was Drake out when this dropped?
yes, he was on young money and So Far Gone was out. basically Clipse started the Bathing Ape's trend in hip hip fashion, and they accused Young Money of biting thier fashion w this song.
@@DatOneGuy901 this song came out in 06 and was a diss to lil wayne based off a magazine cover he did where he claimed he made a bathing ape trendy, so far gone came out in 09 drake wasn't signed to YM at this time
@@dbboykid10 that was a long time ago. So my memory isn't exact. I do remember Drake was active back then even if he wasn't signed to them yet. I had come back season in rotation alot back then
@@DatOneGuy901nah this sign is entirely about birdman and Wayne, Drake didn’t even catch Wayne’s attention until like 07/08
@@DatOneGuy901 thank u
Cross movement… “House of Reps.” There was even a battle online of comparing them to Wutang Clan and beat Wutang!
No matter what you think of the message, it’s on point
Hi, I'm from Hungary, I really like your videos, especially because of your wu tang reactions. I'd like to watch a Method Man - Judgment Day reaction :D
Gillie did write / help Wayne early on
The hook is the diss
This video is dope though man they were making fun of how Wayne started wearing BAPE because of them and acted like he didn’t lol
Please review G-Unit. I'm so Hood
Man Wayne did steal gillie whole style we can’t even front lol his flow and voice and ALL !! For a while at least
Hey KingAhmad, i think you should make a react video about the song called "All About U" from 2Pac, this shit is dope 🔥🔥
Pherell was 🔥🔥🔥for a minute too wonder what went wrong in that situation????

Roscoe P Colchain…… what happened to him man
Let me explain. Writing for someone doesn't mean you have the same producers and machine that they have. Nor does being a good writer make you a good rapper. It's not that simple. Its like people who write songs. Don't mean they can sing
You wasn't into the music back when Gillie wrote for wayne. It's not A myth it is well known.
Puff so powerful
Not gonna lie Malice was nicer than pusha T when it comes to rapping. Respect to pusha tho
Really it was clipse ft. Birdman WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT BOY that started it all….
wasn't a big fan of Hell Hath No Fury I think Lord Willin was definitely the better album but Mr Mee Too and Keys Open Doors are absolute bangers
song is about Wayne swagger Jackin Pharrell and being a copycat not saying that’s true about Wayne but that’s what they saying here
The whole song is about Lil Wayne copying how they dress because they were the first rappers to wear bape also how Lil Wayne started rapping about how he’s a coke dealer all of a sudden after also Lil Wayne started using the yuck adlib
Mr. Me Too is about Wayne stealing their style with the BAPE and coke muzik
The hook is the diss, me me too is Wayne and baby
For Gillie,Wayne stole his style simply listen to 500 degrees then listen to Carter 1, he did his Drake thing first how you think drizzy learned. Gillie was rapping with that flow in 97’ and he was at cash money while Wayne flow transitioned ….. so at worst he is like Jaz-O to Jay-z
Bout time you did A good song. Yoh been slipping
The guy just did Doe or Die. Every song is great.
Nah he’s just the best🔥
“Where your hits” is the most lame, stale, illogical statement one could make when you talk about ghostwriters… stop regurgitating things you heard other ppl say. It’s disingenuous and not original. There are plenty of ghostwriters/writers who don’t have classic albums and number one hits. Come on, man.. smh you know better than that.
EXACTLY
The reason Gillie wasn’t a star or have hits is because he wasn’t a good artist. He couldn’t deliver the songs like Wayne. He definitely can rap but it’s more than just knowing how to put words together.
