Everything you talked about the 20 things that change when u stop drinking are true for me. Everyone one of them. I drank for 30 yrs . Ended up I was drinking 12 beers a day and a case Thurs through Sunday ,,, my B P was 175 over 115 my doc said I had to and I did with help from you ... 15 days now .. someday I would like to donate and help this channel
Staying sober has given me everything that alcohol promised!
Wow.....great statement!!! Exactly how I feel!! 30 days sober....stopped because I was training for my first marathon and I just kept going!!! I feel great!!

Well done I'm 51 and 1 month
Approaching 30 days 100% sober this Sunday. Feel better than I have in years. Less, depression, anxiety, paranoia. More clear-headed, more joy, courage, passion for life. Been enjoying your vids. Keep up the good work and thank you.

Im on day 5. I was planning on buying alcohol today but will not because of this video.
👏👏👏
Hange in there I'm on day 13 and the first week was really hard

Way to go, Dalton!! 🙌
Great one indeed
I’m one day away from three weeks sober and everything is better.
It’s a lonely journey so far but worth it
Thanks for the video it is helping me stay on track
YESSSSSSS!!!!! Are you familiar with the 21/90 rule?
it says that it takes about 21 days to start a new habit and it takes about 90 days for it's becoming more permanent lifestyle change.
You're really putting in the work and should be really proud of yourself

25 days no alcohol. I really have to work on my diet though. BUT. I feel significantly better mentally. One day at a time 💪🏻
Whatcha eating?
The dry skin clearing up is something that was unexpected for me. I did not ever associate that with the alcohol. My skin has completely cleared up. One more positive benefit of quitting. :)
Hallelujah!
Starting Day 1. I’m looking forward to all these things. Fingers crossed this 1000th time. 🙃
You are in a great place 2 start 1000 times you are not alone kasey most people on this channel have walked the same dark and scary road there are people here with sobriety dates that are the same give it a try its more than worth it
Hi Kasey, happy new year! How is it going? You are not alone and this is a great community here at getting sober We care about you , please dont stop trying! take care hope to see you at our live stream sometime :)
Lol feel that
Today was day 9. The current goal is the entire month of January 2024, but i might keep going after that. I'm running the CIM Marathon in December, and I'm committed to doing my best.
YESSSSS!!!!! Running into the new year with GOALS!!!!
1 month today not a drop, compared to every friday to Sunday of slammin my face off the ground from bein so drunk. I will say though todays weather was so hot and sunny that i got the worst craving of all. Made sumtin to eat which stopped it. Feel so good, more progress and stuff done around the house. No more sick head, sluggish feeling, red blushed face is gone, proper sleep, the list goes on. Done with drink forever, next is the cigarettes, dere getting a beating also, best of luck every1 , try it and never look back
I am 47 days sober today and I am feeling great! Never thought I'd be able to do this but here I am, killing it!! Stopping drinking is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Your videos and livestreams have helped me to keep pushing forward. You have an amazing and very supportive community!
We certainly do have one of the best communities because of devoted models of sobriety just like you :)
How did you make it past one week?
@@marcsmith8074 Just take it one day at a time. Sometimes it's one minute at a time, one hour at a time. It gets easier everyday.
2 weeks today guys 🥰🥰🥰🎁🎊🥳🎆
YESSSSS!!!!!! Keep in mind it's about this time when people start having those old monkey brain thoughts of "well I'm feeling so much better, I could probably have a drink now that I've proved to myself that I can go without it". This kind of thinking leads people directly back to daily drinking.
The alcohol industry isn't going anywhere and will be fine without you!
Let's keep up the good work!
@@GettingSoberAgain oh I know that slippery slope very well. Its caught me out so many times.... but not this time. Thanks for your support 🙏
I'm almost at 30 days. Still feeling shaky legged, but definietly notice that I am feeling way better. Gonna keep moving forward.
Keep going!!!!!!
I’m at Day 31 I’m loving this journey
YOOOO!!! Let's go 31! Feel free to share with the community your struggle and successes. Real goes a long way!
I saw this on my 1st day sober in over 40yrs and I wasn't sure if I could even make it through the evening. This is the morning of day 5, the first day I woke without a massive headache. My body is sore, but I don't feel like someone beat the shit out of me. My wife said that I had a smile on my face and greeted me with a kiss. That was worth everything.
Thanks Jae...
Thats what it's all about my friend! Decades of systematic poisoning takes time to heal from, just like a broken bone, or any sickness.
Give it time to get YOU back. Your wife said "I do" to the best version of you in hopes of growth and improvement. This is your "Rocky" moment to put on a hell of a montage and make this a beautiful chapter of the movie of your life!

11 days sober for me after binge drinking every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for 5 years. It was very difficult making it through the weekend, especially with friends peer pressuring me HARD. On day 21. Loving it, and will not be going back. Looking forward to the more profound effects
Day 21 is amazing! They say it takes about 21 days to start a new habit and about 90 days for it to become a more permanent lifestyle change 💪🏼
Good video. I've stopped smoking cigarettes for 21 days and now it's been about 5 days since my last drink. I've been doing these bad habits for about little over a decade. Even within a few days, I started to feel better and different. Being lit is lame.
Great video! Very inspiring and helfull! I'm ending my 1rst day of my sober month! This time I really feel it, I'm convinced, feel like that day I quitted smoking for good and never touched a cigarret again (it's been 20 years now clean)
Updates please 😎😎😎
I'm struggling but these videos are helping me wiegh the "pros and cons" of drinking making it more logical to quit the more I learn.

G'day mate. Just brilliant! A must see. I just came out of detoax, 70 years old, 1 bottle of whiskey a day for 15 years... yep.. doctors said I was a miracle... should have thrown my legs in the air long ago. I already notice a lot of the benefits you mentioned - looking forward to many more! Thank you mate. Appreciated.
Working my way up to day one for September 1st…. Anxious about it but this video made me feel better about it. Thanks
Taper off slow. Stand your ground. Take no prisoners!
You can always go back to drinking, as you always have. It's time to realize that life no longer serves you.
The goal of sobriety is to BE YOURSELF...FOR FREE! Make life so good that you don't WANT to escape it!
Day 30 today 🎉 re-watching your vid for ongoing inspiration and affirmation. Thanks so much Jae!
You ROCK!!!
Really love your channel man! I’m 30 days sober and everything you say is 100% true. It is extremely tough and everyone is different but if you’re really serious about it, push through and do it. I look and feel completely different in a good way and although I have a lot of things to repair in my life, they finally seem possible. You will have bad days, but find new things to keep yourself busy. Exercise is a great escape for me but find something that’s best for you. Finally, the amount of money I save from alcohol and alcohol related expenses like food and things done from impaired judgement is extraordinary. Hope this helps anyone trying to get over the hump and know you’re not alone. Stay the path and eventually you’ll see the beauty of sobriety ❤️
This is a great comment! I am digging your positivity, keep radiating good into the world my friend!
I'll be looking for more of your comments since your name is easy to remember (I've counted 2 so far right?)
@@GettingSoberAgain thanks Jae! Pretty amazing you still try to respond to people after your channel has grown so much. JRE are my initials but Joe is my name, so still pretty similar haha. Still going strong here and hoping to continue. I just want you to know I appreciate all that you do and I’ve never looked for help or thought I could ever listen to advice, but you have a real gift in how you talk about it. Stay strong and I’ll be right behind you clicking them off with you. Thanks again!
160/90 was what I got on my last office visit (a couple weeks before I quit). Considering all of my tests had been around 130/70 for the previous 3 years, I wasn't impressed. I'll definitely be re-testing in a week.

You’re 💯% accurate.. I’ve had ringing in my ears for some time now. and since I’ve stopped drinking it’s not as loud as it has been I’m hoping that the longer I go with out drinking it will stop completely fingers crossed 🤞🏼.. but not only that. I’ve been getting a lot more cardio in and eating better I am starting to feel better all around .. I’ve had all that you mentioned.. thought I was gonna go insane. It’s worth quitting for sure!
Sobriety is simply removing the thorn from your side that's kept you limping through life in normalized pain.
Stay diligent in your quest to be the best version of you, it's certainly worth it if you believe you're worth anything more than a paycheck 🙏

I’m 30 days sober again today!
LETS GOOOOOOO!!!!! You should be proud of yourself. this is the best time of year to get sober IMO, being ahead of the holidays when people tend to use the excuse to live in excess.
Find out what you're made of, and make your future self proud!!!
And 2 months and one day today ☺️
You and all the people in this community, along with a couple of others on TH-cam with this same sober mindset, have definitely been inspiring!! ✨️ 🙌
Unfortunately I haven't yet had the strength to push forward into my journey for much more than a few days at a time tops... but I know it's absolutely for the best!!
I've just been going through alot in my life this past year and battling my own demons... 😞 and I 💯 know that drinking, as you mentioned, is just a crutch, and has done nothing but made things worse and cloud my mind immensely, and consequently made things so much harder to deal with... 😪
But I know I've gotta just take the step up and make it happen!!! I've got a ton of items on my to-do lists that need to get checked off! Not to mention keeping my health in check, getting back into the gym consistently, and getting my entire life back on track 💪💪
Thanks for all the great wisdom and advice though brother, and thanks to all the good people in the community for the support and encouragement, albeit from remote sources, still good to hear and it's all helpful insight 😎🤙
Your higher self will not stop reminding you to raise your own bar and realize your true potential.
It's just up to you whether you want to remain a low level employee in the business of you, or take ownership and step into your new roles as you move up in your OWN company
So cleverly true!

#FEELINGAGAIN #14... crazy. I woke up with lyrics running through my head, a few weeks ago. I was a skosh wowed by how racy the lyrics seemed to be... until I kept writing. After the last couple years, being kept away from the people and places that keep us sane, I now see how much those word were about missing CONNECTION. "I WANNA FEEL AGAIN". Such a great "re-finding"!! 🤘💗🤘
feeeeeeeelings lol. I have certainly been more and more in my feels lately. It's a beautiful thing!
:)
Thanks for your posts! I am a musician and am in the middle of trying dry January...was drinking lots of whiskey and beer every night including weeknights after I put my son to bed to simply numb myself from life. This week from Monday to Friday I stayed dry except for 1 shot yes only 1 at my Wednesday gig...last night I again sang for 3 hours no booze (solo acoustic entertainer) I've been amazed at how much better I sing the entire night without alcohol! After the show I let myself wander...stayed up too late...buzzed slept most of the day and got nothing accomplished. Not happy with myself and that's the positive. I'm going to use that to do better. Already looking forward to watching my Detroit Lions tomorrow afternoon with a coffee or pop or NA beer at one of my favorite places to watch it. Then I'm gonna be proud of myself and be glad I'm not hammered at 4pm on a Sunday...yuck lol ps that heart rate drop was nuts! I'm looking forward to being a healthier adult!
You are projecting yourself into a POSITIVE FUTURE! Great work my friend!

Great vids! I’m turning 50 this year. I’ve been a huge social drinker for over half my life. Alcohol is my crutch when hanging out in large crowds. I’m on day 7 of, who knows how long I can go? How am I going to get out of all my buddies 50th bday parties?
True,
No more anxiety issues in the first half of the day.
Actually a physician suggested the moment you have craving for alcohol, have a little sweet. It will help you to divert and provide a window for changing preferences.
So right on!
I DID A THING!!!

In February 2024 started 40 day plan, at 72nd bday. Started drinking again late March. Now on day 11 for final no alcohol. Clearer thinking, more energy , more passion for golden years. BP was dangerously high in January, has come down considerably, but still needs improvement. Have lost 10 pounds in 1 year. Handling stress much better. 5 more lbs. and I will be same as I was when on active duty 44 years ago.
I am doing Dry January. For years I have suffered with indigestion and constipation always taking remedies. In just 6 days I am cured!
Brandy in my morning coffee, wine with lunch, pre dinner cocktail. wine with dinner and a small Sherry as a night cap!

There is something to be said about tapping into your creative and spiritual side with alcohol. But alcohol use are just the training wheels to what WE ARE TRULY CAPABLE OF!

At a month of no alcohol again. Feels great. I'm still dealing with brutal long covid but at least hangovers and the resulting anxiety and gut problems are out of the picture. Try incorporating cbd if you are using thc.. my rem sleep is normal and I still dream
Thank you for sharing. Your video inspired me to challenge myself to go sober for 30 days which I probably haven’t done for a good 15 years. By the end of the 30 days I felt great in so many ways and it’s made me realize I never want to go back to my old drinking habits again. For anyone looking to cut back or quit I’d definitely recommend the book ‘Quit Drinking’ by Allen Carr. It was a huge help for me.
Congrats on your self improvement! What an inspiration :)
