The meaning of the lyric is a matter of interpretation, but I think it means: the substance of who you are is always changing as you travel through time and through the world. You wake a little different in each place, because you are changed by those places, and by experience. And in America, a land of opportunity, it feels like a new day is dawning. More metaphorically.

Someone else is finding a new morning in A "foreign country" America... at the end she said "behind you I find you in everything I do"... meaning they changed but left made a great impression.
