Buy the album! I hate to say, but it seems like it’s getting forgotten. Example: Apple Music somehow has the music videos but not the album itself… and the audio for “He’s Frank (Slight Return)” is ruined. D: Such a shame.
Awesome. Huw Stephens is responsible for an insane amount of my exposure to EXCELLENT songs (like Close Cropped by Luxembourg and tons of Welsh pop) back in late 00s. I'm glad I got to meet him in 2013 at SXSW.
Well, technically that happens every morning no matter where on Earth you are but I’ll still take comfort in that. ;) I do kind of wonder what they mean by it (Norman Cook is not American).
@@emmettturner9452 The polar regions do not produce a dawn every day. So technically that is not true. Even in parts of the American state of Alaska, it is not strictly true. The meaning of the lyric is a matter of interpretation, but I think it means: the substance of who you are is always changing as you travel through time and through the world. You wake a little different in each place, because you are changed by those places, and by experience. And in America, a land of opportunity, it feels like a new day is dawning. More metaphorically.
A lot of people here think this song is about America... Listen to the song people, she uses "You" not "I"... The song is about accusing someone of leaving. Someone else is finding a new morning in A "foreign country" America... at the end she said "behind you I find you in everything I do"... meaning they changed but left made a great impression.
It's about finding yourself while also discovering other places in the world. 1:14 "Somewhere in a foreign bed, you wake a little different. Somewhere in America. Forget where you have been, remember where you are." "Take a step and move one check forward" "You find a new day dawning every single day in America"
Yeah but of course she's gonna say america, we're the most powerful country in the world! Do any other countries matter even? I mean cmon get with the times
I knew this song years before trump was not even a glint in the christian rights eye but it resonates more now I love America I’m Australian and I love America and most things American so it pains me to see what is happening vote blue Slava 🇺🇦
@MarcianitoRajoy aha ahh the tittle is Seattle so ...i guess that it's america ...north america... nobody dreams about Sucre, Medelin or Tegucigalpa... personnally i'm ok with Belize...
Just discovered this song and it should be really more famous!! listenning over and over, It gives me so good mood.

Heard this on Huw Stephens on Radio 1 for the first time last night, and its amazing! So catchy. Everything that Norman Cook does is fantastic!

This song sounds old school yet fresh. I wish I was American.
Wow, this comment hasn't aged well. I'm now ashamed to be American in 2022.
I hate Spotify for not having this song available.
They do, just search Brighton port authority
@@pablodelsegundo9502 strangely, Apple Music has the video available but not the album or track.
@@emmettturner9452I think because they rip it directly from TH-cam
Great song. To say otherwise is to deny talent, originality and creativity at it's finest!
Listening on Nov 3 - 4!
this song is living in my ear since i heard it the first time...
Thanks for sharing. She is fabulous. I have forwarded the link to my son. Congratulations Emmy. I look forward to more.
Absolutely brilliant track, love its simplicity
have heard it almost everyday for the past couple of month and can agree with you... I still love it!
emmy is one of the top of the line singer/songwriters around
You find a new day dawning every single morning in America.

@@jamesr141 well, Norman Cook and Emmy the Great are both English so I’m curious to know if it’s some kind of love letter to American or Seattle. ;)
Love Emmy, going to see her for the third time in Febuary. This song is mint.

Awesome video! (:
Seattle is one of the most western point of the US...A new day dawns there a bit after England. It also rains there alot much like England.
Nice!
bella emmy!
the version on itunes is different :///
the beginning of this just hooks you in though wow

Can anyone tell me what the song is about? That’s been bugging me since 2008. Thanks!
It's about finding yourself while also discovering other places in the world.

fukin brilliant song.. fukin brilliant album.
Catchy song. The gal's a cutie, too. America!!!
Emmy The Great... fantastic!
Who will cath the Brighton Port Authority? :)
I too am confused why Seattle was chosen as the title. Absolutely love the song though!
seattle woot woot~!
Which charts? The Iranian pop music charts?
add &fmt=18 for stereo =D
Brookes Brothers remix please.
she is great(3u0)
Shit Hot!!!
Beier Row
And Seattle is in America, no?
Gostei da japinha. Pegava fácil...
love the vid... the song is a little.. sleepy? but cute
Glad0s! portal 3 confirmed? :O
when they say "America", they meant the good old USofA
Alice Sweet Alice?
1:00 ftw
Fatboy slim changed his stage name(is that right?) to Brighton Port Authority
i cant wait for the new season the ugly betty :]
Go to the store and buy yourself some family size perspective.
It's just another of his side projects, much like The Mighty Dub Katz.
Oh, i read somewhere that he was basically done with Fatboy Slim.
Yeah but of course she's gonna say america, we're the most powerful country in the world! Do any other countries matter even? I mean cmon get with the times
unsere BPA ist schöner
yeah it's RATHER creative, but it's not that extremely, exceptionaly, unbelievably, mind-boggingly creative like others might suggest.
I love Emmy the Great, but this isn't her style. Too mainstream... Nothing special. Please, Emmy, keep on singing your own songs :-*
I knew this song years before trump was not even a glint in the christian rights eye but it resonates more now I love America I’m Australian and I love America and most things American so it pains me to see what is happening vote blue
Slava 🇺🇦
non c'assomoglia proprio per un cazzo
so.... why is this called seattle? because i dont think alot of these things relate to seattle because she keeps saying AMERICAAA
lol
that doesn't even make any sense?!
nahh. I like her though, her music and other videos. but theres nothing creative bout this video.
except the refrain at the beginning, the rest of the song is the most annoying thing ever heard in my entire life.
Rachael Yamagata , Karen O , Emmy the Great & Kate Earl all share mixed european-asian origins and all four are so talented... oh yes
@MarcianitoRajoy uh!
@MarcianitoRajoy aha ahh the tittle is Seattle so ...i guess that it's america ...north america... nobody dreams about Sucre, Medelin or Tegucigalpa... personnally i'm ok with Belize...
I love this song !!
