i have to say I love that you mention the artists and support their work. I always love discovering new illustrators and I appreciate the name dropping :D
Such beautiful things! I have them all in my dreams!😊 I don't consider myself the "granny" type ( although I am a Nana), but I have loved tea towels for many, many yrs. I still have my Nana's Ireland tea towel; she brought with her when she emigrated from Donegal. I also have a lace tablecloth that belonged to her. I collect children's books depending on the illustrator. The ones you showed just gorgeous!! A favorite Christmas story of mine is The Gift Of The Magi. Hope I can get that particular one, Beautiful illustrations!! I used to buy Fortnum and Mason Teas here for many yrs. Unfortunately, they stopped shipping to the U.S. A long time ago; maybe early '90's. Don't know why, was sooooo disappointed. What a great artist Claire Fletcher is! Similar to Brambly Hedge, possibly Beatrix Potter. It is a perfect reading day here. Raining, foggy and cold. We have had a little snow, but it is gone. Very cold, though. I am a "Dog Person" also, Miranda. I was raised w/A German Shepherd. He was very busy with 4 of us, but he really was my dog. I love that breed they are so intelligent and in tune to humans. I had one my whole life up until 8 yrs. ago when I put my last one to sleep. I keep his leash ( belonged to the last 3) on my doorknob. I am in A small apt. now, no big dogs.😑 This was fabulous Miranda, thanks SO MUCH!
A toast to all of us who love a good tea towel! And yes, it’s a bit of a “granny” thing but I like to keep the tradition of having pretty or interesting tea towels like my Mum and my Gran before me. 😊
Whenever I travel, I always look for tea towels as souvenirs. They take up very little room in my suitcase, they’re functional, and they remind me of a wonderful visit.
So pleased to watch this video. So festive. Everything is so beautiful, and I would be so pleased to receive any of your choices for Christmas! Thanks so much for a lovely festive watch. Wishing you, and your lovely mum a very Merry Christmas 🎄
Dear Miranda, I’m so impressed by your talent in finding “ things of beauty” even among the simplest and most domestic items… I can’t say how much I adore the bunnies in sleigh wooden ornament, not to mention the tea towels… and the illustrated books…watching your vlog is like following a course in exquisite taste! Thank you Miranda❤
Aw, thank you so much for your very kind comment, Laura! So sweet of you! I"m so glad you enjoyed this video. Hope you're having a wonderful start to December ♥️
This was lovely to watch and hear about your Christmas traditions. Im wanting to write the questions out (maybe adjust a bit for my area and life), and answer the questions for myself. It would be nice to ask the same questions to relatives and friends as nice memories of what they love too. I was actually thinking of giving your Common Place book as a Christmas gift, which I printed out, and maybe your new Christmas Seasons issue to a friend, and these questions would be nice to add. Then I’d include a writing journal and maybe some cozy things like a mug and tea, and cozy socks. I love those Sophie Elm ornaments you just showed too (maybe for next year). Oh and those Renard Press Christmas story cards! I liked absolutely everything you showed Miranda! Thank you!
Miranda…I always love when you make a video of your favorite things! They are so lovely. I am also a stationery lover too! Thank you. Please take care of yourself and don’t overdo. Get well soon. Make sure you take time for Miranda and REST! Ermetta
I hope you're feeling fully better soon and able to enjoy the rest of the festive season! I love these videos and all the delightful special things you show, so many great ideas for gifts and things I would like for myself of course, and just ideas of things to do! Sending best Christmasy wishes!
I just love the Jane Austen jug - I imagine it will bring a smile to your face whenever you see it in your home. Just finished a rewatch of the 2005 Pride and Prejudice, so am very much in an Austen mood. Good to hear you are feeling better! 💕
Hello Miranda, I think I have tea towel envy! I love your choice of tea towels and those pretty place mats. Some lovely favourite things - thank you for sharing.
"Greetings and thank you for another elegantly presented video!' I so appreciate your unique quality of chosen favorite items!'' "May I ask if you have ever highlighted your choices of watches for casual and for formal wear?"' "A short while ago, I looked back at some of your earlier videos that you created about your knitting yarns with patterns, and I wanted to mention how truly exciting it was to hear you talk about a new knitting project for the holidays in this new video!!" So inspiring to hear from you always, from Anne Fox, USA!" "Very best wishes to your dear mother!"
Miranda, another lovely vlog.I too love Jane Austen. She was my 9th cousin , 4 times removed.:) You cannot imagine how excited I was to find this information while doing genealogy on my family. :) Blessings from Oregon USA . Oh, I have ancestral roots in Yorkshire and Devon. :)
I chuckled when you mentioned knitting cowls for everyone. It reminded me of when I was a beginning knitter and knitted scarves for everyone I could think of - whether they wanted one or not! I always enjoy your videos very much. Thanks for doing them. 🎄♥
Lovely ideas for gifts and cards, I especially love the V&A advent. Madeleine Tosh yarn is gorgeous, can't wait to see your knitted cowl. Lovely episode, Thank you ❤
So glad you have found The Stitcher Journal. I've subscribed for a number of years, and my skills are very much still beginners level. However, it's wonderful to enjoy the exceptional skills of so many other people. Stay warm. ❤
Thank you once again Miranda, I found 2 by Sonja Danowski in our San Francisco Main Library, in English, Requested. As I was in neighborhood gift shop and bookstore today, I am begifted now; though lovely suggestions!!
What a cheery video dear Miranda. Your recommendations are always so charming and uplifting. The troubles of the world dissolve when I listen to you. Merry Christmas to you and your Mum! And a peaceful 2024 ❤
Ah, I'm really feeling festive after watching this! 😊🎄 Pattullo's advent calendar is gorgeous. My partner got me a Whittard's tea advent calendar that I'm enjoying. And that Jane Austen jug is fantastic - what a great early present. Happy holidays!
Lovely items Miranda. I was lucky to get both the Bronte and the Jane Austin Sussex lustreware jugs for our 40th wedding anniversary last year. But I have you to thank, as you introduced me to them. ❤
What lovely things! It has only been in the last year or so that I have taken interest in illustrations so it's lovely to learn more through the items you share - it's fast becoming a hobby of mine! I hope you take time to really ensure you recover, otherwise these things do tend to hang around! x
What a brilliant collection of lovely things! I love Advent calendars and the tea one especially looks amazing. My parents give me a Jacquie Lawson virtual Advent calendar every year, and I am enjoying that. The Stitcher's Journal and the Jane Austen jug both look just gorgeous! Thank you for these wonderful videos. ❤
I was so excited about the embroidery journal!! I am framing some pieces for my granddaughter for Christmas. I am always looking for gorgeous embroidery patterns and ideas. Thank you ♥️♥️
Loved this so much! Lots of wonderful ideas, I straight away ordered the Sonja Daniowski “The Gift of the Magi” - I love beautiful illustration and also adding to my Christmas book collection. I haven’t come across this illustrator before, her pictures look wonderful. Claire Fletcher is such an enchanting artist too. I love the M&S/Emma Bridgewater poinsettia pots, I bought one just yesterday as a gift for my mum. And what stunning lustreware jugs from your mum, so beautiful! Thanks for all the inspiration Miranda! Glad to hear you are feeling better, I hope your energy levels recover soon.
Thank you for the rec on Sonja Danowski, I'd not heard of her either. I was able to find The Forever Flowers, Magi, and The Little Night Cat on ebay yay! Wonderful recs as always, Miranda ❤
Snow! Oh, enjoy the snow! We've had a lot of rain in New Hampshire so far this year. Yesterday, we were totally and completely socked in with fog. We couldn't even see down the road or across corn fields. I told my father it was the sort of fog I'd read about in UK literature and that our ancestors might have experienced. (Jumper envy! Would you believe I almost told one of my colleagues this week that I loved her jumper?! I stopped myself at the last moment.)
Dear Miranda, thank you for this lovely and inspirational video. I loved everything you showed to us! Especially the beautiful jugs your mother gifted to you. I'm glad you are feeling better now. I wish you and your mom a wonderful advent time and I'm sending you greetings from the snowy south of Germany!❤
aw thank you so much for your lovely words and generous support, Inga! I'm truly grateful! I hope you are also feeling much better now and can enjoy all the fun of December! So glad you enjoyed the video ❤️
I love the Bird & Blend calendar, we have purchased a couple for the last several years but this year the shipping to the US was more than the actual product. We reluctantly passed and got an American tea brand advent calendar and everyone is missing our Bird and Blend! I hope you enjoy, we also love the non caffeinated option and all the different flavors! As always, your favorites are filled with beautiful and elegant items!
I bought the Halloween Bird & Blend tea calendar in October as a fun activity for my daughter and me when I visited her over Halloween. But I agree with you that the shipping to the US was pretty steep!
What a wonderful selection of some of your favourite things - I love them all! I've discovered new artists through your vlog and have the Angela Harding advent calendar and a Mark Hearld menagerie on display. My season reading so far, again thanks to you has been The Vanderbeekers, the first in the series and I'm now reading The Willows at Christmas 🌲☃️
Oh Miranda , so delighted that you have discovered The Stitchers Journal! It is an enthralling publication, always interesting, always inspiring. This was such a lovely, festive vlog, you are making me feel christmassy for the first time this year! Good Luck with the knitting too! X
I love your videos and this was so Christmas- after watching you - Im here in the States, just ordered a tea cup for my friend whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower. Very British - hope she will love it . Found a little store in Massachusetts that is all British imports -
Thank you so much for another wonderful video. What charming things you have discovered! I am obsessed with the Jane Austen jug, it’s so very beautiful. Xx
This was such a great video, Miranda. Thank you! I’m always so happily surprised by how many favourite things we share. As a fellow fan of the ballet, I wondered if you have seen the silk scarf from Aspinal of London this year which features ‘The Nutcracker’? It is the epitome of Christmas to me! I so hope you and your lovely mum feel fully recovered very soon. xxx
Thank you so very much for your lovely support, Penny! It's so kind of you, and I truly appreciate it! I hope you're having a lovely start to this festive month ❤️
Thank you Miranda for another lovely video. Please take it calm and easy to recover from Covid and flu. This can linger so long and flare up. Enjoy your teas and other goodies and thank you again.

I just checked out Claire Fletcher's website. Beautiful! I hope you feel better soon...get some rest and take it easy. Have a lovely rest of your day and enjoy the snow.☃
I loved this edition Miranda, I can recommend both the Caroline Zoob magazine which I also subscribe to as well as the Honey Cowl pattern which I have made and agree it would make a good pattern for cosy December knitting. Thank you for some lovely recommendations today, Teresa ♥️
@@MirandaMills I’m quite older than you but I adore a tea towel too. I’m tempted to order the tea towel with the sweet cat on it. They’re both so adorable.

Oh I love Christmas carols... That sounds like a great read!! I'm looking for some light festive reading. I did get myself an advent calendar from Bonne Maman, so far I really like it. Found a winter tea collection too with new flavours. Amazon had some nice discounts 😊
Everything is just amazing, but some of my favorites are the tea towels and the beautiful poinsettia in the EB tin. Just gorgeous ❤️ The Jane Austen jug is stunning 💕 and oh, the little robin baby jug!!! Your videos are always a highlight of my week, thank you, Miranda❤️🎄💚
This was a lovely video (as always) I enjoy your joy of beautifully illustrated books and cards and oh just everything. I don't know if I missed a link in other videos but I ADORE all the beautiful mugs you and your mum drink from in your videos or have displayed in the background. Where do you get those gorgeous mugs? Have a wonderful 2024.
Your Favourite Things videos never disappoint Miranda! Loved everything but particularly the cute wooden ornaments, the colour of the yarn and the Fragonard items. Also must track down the M&S Poinsettias in the Emma B pots! Thank you ! ❤
Hi, Miranda, Thanks so much for making this time of the year seem so special. I really enjoyed this video, as it’s lovely to see all the pretty things you’ve selected and I’m glad you are warm and cozy, and especially liked the Jane Austen jug, and the other little pink illustrated jug too. I’m sorry to hear you weren’t well, but am delighted you’ve made a good recovery. Hope the run up to Christmas is delightful and a very happy time for you. Maria
So many lovely things. Your snowflake brooch is lovely too! I usually treat myself to a tea calendar, it's become a way to slow down for a moment in December and enjoy the season. Best wishes for your continued recovery 🫖🌼
Thank you, Penny! Yes I'm really enjoying getting a tea calendar each year too. It's a fun way to try different teas and pick out a few favourites! xxx
Yey! My favorite kind of video from my very favorite TH-camr! Definitely the best way to start Sunday ❤ I'm currently enjoying opening the boxes of Yves Rocher advent calendar, my first advent calendar as an adult :) I also recommend very much the Cozy issue of the Bella Grace magazine from Stampington Press, it's like a warm hug in a form of a magazine and a perfect read for the winter season. They have digital copies for those outside of the US, as well as international shipping of the printed copies.
i have to say I love that you mention the artists and support their work. I always love discovering new illustrators and I appreciate the name dropping :D

They're from Emma Bridgewater xxx

Maria
Ooh, I'm first, was waiting for this ❤
Yay! xxx
Love hearing about your Christmas favourites. Just what we need 😊🎉
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, and that does look like a lovely magazine! xxx
