    Amazing video!!! Well explained. You should go into teaching at college or university level. You'll be doing service to humanity. I don't think professors can even come close to how well you explain difficult concepts. Each and every step has been explained very well. I, for now, better understand this concept.     Sir, I have a doubt. Why do we need r-square to tell us how well the regression line fits the actual data, when we get the same aspect served by the absolute value of r itself? An absolute value of r closer to 1 indicates that the regression line is a good fit.

      Yes that is correct, an absolute value of r equal to 1 indicates that an r-squared value would also be equal to 1. That is an instance where it would be pointless to use r-squared to see if the regression line is a good fit. However, we can use r-squared in cases where the answer isn't really clear cut, and is a way for us to "check" when we need more information.
