Personally, I would advise using the windows for signage and advertising. Instead of just covering the windows in foil, I would place signage stating what the museum is or previews of the museum's exhibits on the backs of the shelves in the store and the wooden panels. As of now, all of those windows are being wasted, especially those that are against the sidewalk! Windows are the most beautiful exterior component on a building, so don't shy away from using them and don't just cover them up, or people outside will notice.

I think advertisement would be a really good idea, it could catch more people's attention if you have bright posters hung up in all the windows advertising the museum inside, as opposed to the windows just being blacked out.

Or make some unique, colorful large scale mocs to fill the space of each window. Even something with basic bricks that can be seen from the road.

@@Nitrotix1 no, speaking from experience lego doesn’t like sunlight and discolour from U.V. light.

Put small Lego dioramas in the windows for advertising?

You should consider painting the side of the panels facing the window with somrthing, and maybe installing some lighting in the windowsill. You don't want to contribute to the building which hosts your museum looking abandoned and boarded up.

I'm so invested in this series! I absolutely love what you're doing and I, along with I imagine many other LEGO fans, have only dreamed of doing this in our respective cities. Keep up the fantastic work! I cannot wait to visit someday.

You should paint the walls of the Wild West moc to look like a sunset

It’d make a great compliment: the sunset shows a different time and the warmer yellows/oranges complement the cooler blues

On the plywood window covers: Adding some sort of latch or pull handle on the blue side or fold down stand to the unpainted inside of the plywood panels might be helpful for propping them open for airflow without having to deal with positioning wooden blocks each time you need them to stay open.

It's looking awesome! Have you thought about a 'sunrise-sky' for the Wild West? Would fit realy good I think and it's less blue

I would put moisture traps in the windows as well (assuming you’ll be able to access them and get them out on a c.monthly basis). This will capture any moisture and stop any potential build up.

  • @deniseowens5923
    @deniseowens5923 ปีที่แล้ว +18

As someone else mentioned, I think sunrise or sunset colors for the Wild West would be amazing and would also break up the blue sky with clouds look. I look forward to seeing the progress. I love your work.

You should consider doing a sunset sky for the background in the wild west area, a long with some towering Mesas in the distance.

  • @Gozokukolat

Are you going to add street lights to your city? If so, you might want to start thinking about placement (over the roads, on the wharf, places where minifigs mingle, train crossings) and light zones. That way you can plan for subsurface wiring before moving everything.

With how much detail you are putting into these builds, it would be cool to implement an interactive "Where's Waldo" or "I Spy book" search with the build where people get some kind of prize (like a discount on a next visit or a custom sticker etc) for searching for different things within the build and checking them off on a checklist or something. Even without a reward, it would be fun as a customer to go into a Lego museum and search for things on a list to try to find them all, and rotating in and out different checklists of new things to find would make customers want to come back again for a different experience since their looking for different things with a new list

To eliminate the light coming through the caps of the window panels, stable a piece of fabric with enough slack to accommodate the hinges' range of movement to the back of the panels :) You might also be able to add nylon tape to the front instead and then cover it with paint - making the seam near invisible.

When working with gypsum plates there's little jerrycans of pre-wash available that you can apply before painting which then saturates it with moisture instead of sucking it out of the paint. This helps tons with fully covering walls with paint (and probably a lot cheaper since you don't need as much paint for the same result).
    Looking great though.

    Great!
Here is what I would do to get some extra money:
Schools have a budget for museums every year.
You can build a small area for 20 kids, where they can build
with lego and Duplo. Just add big bins with random lego, a lot of it,
a large table with lego surface (glued 32x32 plates) this will get
a lof of kids in and schools will pay for a field trip, about 200 euros for a day, thats
2400 euro every year, with just 1 group per month.
