Keeps getting bewildered when people try to explain the different string stitches in regard to which one to pull. This video, ‘the front of the bag looks like this and the back looks like this, now open from the right’. So simple!! Thank you.

@@1533ramsay What the...? No. People still use rice, onions and potatoes, and rural people use all kinds of other stuff in sewn sacks (e.g. feed). They've also gained traction for industrial uses; I've seen them used to hold plastic parts used for interlock, and some plumbing stuff.
Jesus has nothing to do with it. Sowwy.

Ha ha I learnt or rather thought I did at 74 but it kept being a puzzle. I did not take on board the single line R side instead of trying both side.
And now at 77 i'm back at it with basmati rice bags ('should call them rat bags!)! Yes NEVER on the 'looped' side, but SINGLE line side! Although sometimes it still is a struggle with fine threads. But I saw another video with a chook pellets bag. And all he does is cut the right spot as described against the R end of the bag, then just pulls the end of each thread on both sides of the bag at the same time! Hmmm...
Thank you for your very clear video anyway :)
Wow now I found my 5 years old post below mine now and I had forgotten about. It seems I unlearn faster than I learn:(

No, there's more to it,. I've tried this over and over with Tidy Cat cat litter, and 1 time out of 10 I catch it. Yes, I'm gentle on the pull. Yes, I've gotten "one string ahead of the other" and used my fingernails to get the "straight or smooth" side to be at the same point that the looped side ends. Yes, I've cut off 3 whole loops at the end, which according to this should certainly put me past the tied point. I think there's something else not mentioned.
