      Look higher... all this enabling / social destablisation is deliberate (just put some thought into why - it isn't that difficult). Once the police are elite -steered in a certain direction the police on the ground just want to keep earning their salary. Then tow the line - even if it makes no sense and they aren't doing their jobs properly.

    I grabbed a yob in a supermarket helping himself to large bottles of booze.
    His mates got away with some but tjis fella was forced to give the bottles back, but the security guards stood back and did nothing.
    I'm 5 feet tall and in my 60s.
    No-one did anything until I confronted them and another customer stepped in.
    Only the one I stopped was detailed and handed over to police.

    • @ElizabethWarrenYeahYeah
      @ElizabethWarrenYeahYeah หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      @WendyRodger1 I didn't think, I just acted.
      When I spoke with security guards and left my number for the police, as I grabbed him, held onto him and effectively tore him a new one, he might have screamed assault!
      The security guard says they come into the shop twice a day and they can't touch them.
      They're stealing to order.
      That 6'2" kid was around 15.
      I probably looked like his wee granny and he felt ashamed.
      He apologised to me.
      I wanted to chat with him and point out that those weren't friends he was with, maybe he should join a free football club and get away from the other boys as they are the authors of his life of crime and unemployment if he stayed with them.
      He probably felt trapped.
      I bet his mother was furious when the cops took him home.

    In the 1970s in Dublin there was a protest after the Friday 13 disaster in Northern Ireland - a huge crew of protesters went to the British embassy and some of the protester decided to burn the embassy down - knowing that the staff had already left the building. As the protesters threw petrol into the building thru broken windows, the protesters realized they didn't have a light and appealed to the crowd for a box of matches. A police officer (there to manage / control the protesters) stepped up and gave the protester a box of matches and the building burned. The point I am making is that at some stage the UK police will be on the side of the protesters because they will realize they are part of the community / people.

    IMO Leadership is one factor, but also the quality of the new Police Officers this past 15 years has been ever worse. Sorry, but too many of them seem themselves as Social Workers in Blue Uniforms, rather than LAW ENFORCERS. There once was a time when a minimum height requirement was needed to join - done away with under DEI rules. I gather that the physical fitness test was also done away with. Such decisions only lead one way. I have never felt more embarrassed about the British Police.

    I recall an incident whilst working as a Door Supervisor in Leeds. My pub was 2 doors down from from a Subway. A fight kicked off in my pub, I was on my own and outnumbered 20-1. I recall outside there being 3 Police Cars, 2 Riot Vans and a Video Van, parked outside the Subway. I attempted to flag down one officer in a van, he refused to move, too busy eating his sandwich. When the pub manager called the police for support, we got 2 foot patrol officers, who had come from the other side of the City Center, whilst these vehicles occupants were stuffing their face with Subway.
    Disgusting. I got out of Door Supervision promptly.... There were posters all over the place claiming Security Workers and the Police, were all on the same team.... what a load of B*llocks.
