It's crazy to think of the '90s as simpler times. After all, we had CDs, cell phones/pagers, and the Internet back then. Still, the '90s were indeed simpler. In a less-tense pre-9/11 world, airport security was simpler; gas was cheaper; the housing market in major cities wasn't as bleak; there was no social media/smartphones (as you already pointed out) which meant if you wanted to find out some facts about a famous person, a product, or any subject, you had to do actual old school research (which often involved going to the library or breaking out grandpa's dusty old hardback encyclopedia set LOL). If you wanted to interact with family/friends/companion, you did it in person or on the phone. Music was also much more pleasant to the ear back then. Wow, I'm starting to sound like my grandparents did back then. Teee heee.
@@saxopio6280 so true! Even though the 90s didn't have smart phones and social media, it doesn't seem that far away since we definitely did have pagers, CDs and cell phones. Landlines were used a lot too. Also, magazines, newspapers, advertising, and the media entities swayed public opinion much more.

I had the biggest crush on Brandy, well into my adult years. I used to want to meet her SOO BAD. We're the same age, and one thing I really liked about her was that she was so modest and pure. She never seemed like a big headed celebrity, but like a regular person. She's literally the only celebrity that I have ever wanted to meet. Today she is a beautiful woman, and still has this innocence about her, even with her imperfections, where you can tell that she is a genuinely good person, who could get along with anyone. Amazing personality.
It really was...reading comments like yours makes me grateful to have lived through the entire 1990s! It was a beautiful time that I'm ALWAYS nostalgic for.
@@AvecPoesie right. This brings back the memories of going over to a friend’s house just to listen to music to have fun, riding bikes, freeze cups, baggy clothes, staying outside til the street lights came on, watching TGIF on a friday while eating pizza and all the other fun memories to name a few. Oh and the nokia cell phones lol
I loved being a 90’s kid this was literally the best decade ever! I miss the music and this was the era before social media and crazy cell phone use . People actually talked together and we did more creative things. I remember roller skating, being out side bike riding and dance parties !

Here because she announced the VERZUS battle with Monica and I'm getting my catalog in! I'm so excited to celebrate her! Her music stands the test of time! Ya excited about the battle?
What I love about this song is that it brings back 90s vibe something we definitely need now in days giving the way things are now in days especially with the crappy music we have today
Well of course it does because this song came out in the 90s. 😂
She dropped this when I was in HS and I can say with confidence that Brandi was a big deal. From her braids, hats, dark lipstick ect..
Rashad Mitchell I was in pre school and she was a big deal lol
Ain’t nothing like a black woman with braids & big hoops, aww man 😍

We call them around the way girls. Its a 80's thing.

Agreed!
Ah! Life before smart phones and social media. Wonderful times. When people were just people lol
I agree!
Teee heee.
NomadiqGentz true story social media has killed it lol need that time machine bk to 90s
Tell me about take my daughter out for lunch mite as well be sat alone she's never off the dam phone lol believe us older ones we had a life before mobiles 😂😂
Brandy, Monica, and Aaliyah are the princesses of r&b they all have influenced r&b in3 different ways with 3 different styles
This and all 3 can coexist with each other and still be successful in their own right.
Yes! I love all those ladies. They set the path for other females that came after them.
Man I love Black Women with Braids man...the culture man, gotta love it. There is nothing like it
So nice to get acknowledgement that a black man appreciates it. 😊
absolutely ❤ love me some braids

I was hooked on Brandy's music after hearing this back in the mid-'90s. What a career this song ignited!
M e too.I used to practice dancing moves in my barracks room in Ft Hood,Tx ( since renamed Ft Cavazos ) I was in my first year in the army. Those were some COOL days back then, good R & B,rap, and good black singing groups, good black sitcoms too.
Damn I don't know what to say, THIS is what young romantic R&B REALLY IS !! I swear the first four lines just turns my skin to goose bumps.
This song is not only a classic, but a whole vibe!!

Ugh I wish I wasn’t born in this generation. IM OBSESSED with the 90s and wish I grew up in it. It seemed like it was sooo fun and full of vibes 😩🤍.
Love your comment❤️ I was born in March of 1990. I'm still obsessed with it and miss it so much🥺
80s music even better!
I loved being a 90’s kid this was literally the best decade ever! I miss the music and this was the era before social media and crazy cell phone use . People actually talked together and we did more creative things. I remember roller skating, being out side bike riding and dance parties !
Whoever was on the guitar🔥🔥🔥🔥
She looks so adorable here.
2:04 The dab is officially invented 😉
there were dabs in tons of 90's videos. one i could think of right now is shai - comforter, at the end he did kind of a "dab"

That beat was so sick!!!!!
Biggie would've ripped this beat!
I would have to agree with you. It was simple. keys, bass and drums. As we musicians say, "it was tight."
The Real Queen B❤😂❤😂😊
We Gotta Bring This Era Back !! 🤗😍👕🌹🤯
I will never forget being a little girl seeing this video come on TV 📺 for the first time! I looked up to Brandy for the rest of my childhood!...Good memories 💛🙌
*Can someone please bring back music like this to 2018!!!* ❤️❤️❤️
They can't my queen...Because artist today, Don't have that creative edge that artist in the 80's,90's, & early 2000's had...That's why, when you hear today's music, it sounds like the same shit is being played over & over again...You don't need talent to be popping these days...SMH
