Hearing these things makes me wonder: Do I really need to learn more scales than the pentatonic ?
I mean maybe the major scale but beyond that I have no plans at the moment to learn more.
you could add notes to the penta, like the 2/9, that would help alot with improv
If you just want to play and rehash blues licks……no and nothing is wrong with that if that’s your lane, and you want to stay in it.
But if you want to venture out and expand creatively, you should. Why would you limit the tools in your toolbox is what I believe, if you want to be as creative as you can

If you just play blues and classic rock then pentatonic/blues scale covers most of that, with a few extra notes to spice it up. That being said it's never a bad thing to learn more scales

Why do I know you as a pedal guy rather than as being associated with blues records? Just on the waay outside chance you have a blind spot here like I did until very recently: If you did this exact same thing live into a mixing board you could upload it as it stands to distrokid and gain all over the place. We all know gain is where it's at in any case. Speaking of: after hearing it like this, Josh from Snouse nailed this amp on the BlackBox-pro mod, it takes fuzz beautifully too.
