    Absolutely picturesque! Glutton for punishment in that rain. Digger looked like he was suffering! Poor Digger!

      Digger wasn't suffering at all, mate. He likes playing in the rain, doesn't bother him one bit.

    Hola Frank,!

    good thing about the weather, if you want solo camping, go during winter or a wet weather weekend. there is no one else around during these times. pure heaven, you and nature alone, great to charge your inner battery

      Yeah, the weather sure keeps many people away...i'm happy in any weather as long as it's not windy. Flapping tent and no fire is no fun!

    From West Chester, OH - Thank you Frank & Digger. Another scenic & relaxing video. My favorite frames were you two walking on the beach in the rain and the waves crashing on the shore. Then, toward the end when you both head back out to the shoreline w/ the fishing poles. I’ll be re-watching those segments many times.

      Hi, Glad you enjoyed it! It wasn't the best weather for the beach or for fishing but it was nice just being out in nature...no matter the weather, I enjoy being in nature.

      Hi, TJ
      Between the waves crashing on the beach and the rain bouncing off the tent, it was a very relaxing soundscape to be in for a few days

    Your vids are so relaxing, but with the lousy weather you had, still such an enjoyable time. But can you get walls for the gazebo? Give Digger a tickle under his chin for me. 😊

    Hay Frank. Have a look at Temu for Drag Chain, their name for cat track to help keep your fridge lead organised. Look's like Vic certainly gave you your rain fix for the next 12 months, bet you will be glad to get home! Talking of, hope you have a great Christmas mate, look forward to seeing more of you and Digger in the New Year and give Digger a scratch behind the ear for me.

      Thanks for that, Steve, i've wondered what those things are called and where you can get them. At the previous camp the power lead got tangled and became unplugged without me noticing...until I next went to the fridge to find it off!
      It was good to get home...and get everything dry but I'm already looking forward to the next road trip. I'll take a couple of weeks off at xmas, then head back out.
      Merry Xmas!

    A little rain (or a lot) can never spoil a good camp. Sometimes it’s nice to hunker down inside and watch the rain fall. Digger looks very comfy and happy in your home on wheels. I think he’s just happy to be with you. Hanging the lights under the gazebo canopy gave a really cosy atmosphere despite the wind and rain. So happy that you are enjoying them. 🙂 Give that sweet boy a squeeze from me.

    Still loving the Gazebo, ❤ brilliant idea... was that homemade banana bread it looked different.. You can't beat a good steak and mash 😋 sorry about the weather you guys have been getting alot of rain down South, it has hit QLD the last couple of days very heavy... anyways catch up with you on the next video, stay dry down there 🐕🕊🇦🇺❤🙏

      Unfortunately that wasn't homemade banana bread...I've tried to make it a few times but its never any good. but I have got the mash figured out! everyone like it 😎
      All the rain is with you guys now. I hope your not flooded?

    another epic camp site mate - but for different reasons than the last couple - I think the stormy weather makes it even if a bit of gear gets wet. re your smash potato i was given a tip from a mate that got it from a chief and which I use all the time - once the mash is to your liking (butter, salt, pepper etc) add in a couple of tbl spoon of olive oil - this will help keep it from drying out while you cook your steak..........it's pretty yum too. Cheers

      Hey, Steve
      Camping in the rain is a different experience for sure and wet kit is never fun to deal with...which is another reason while I like a quick, simple set up. A wet dog is a whole other ball game to deal with while camping in the rain Lol

      The camper has x2 120amp batteries but only has a usb and cig socket outlet...it really needs an inverter. There's always something I 'need' to get for my camping set up! Lol

    G’Day Frank, another name change haha! No wonder you did not show up, even though I’m subscribed. Great to the trailer working out for you, how convenient and cosy it is. Like to see these roof top tent (clamshell types) fanboys live in weather like this …..!

    • @4X4CA
      @4X4CA  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is (probably) the last name change! Lol The camper is very cosy and even though its still a tent, its a massive upgrade from a regular tent on the ground. RRT are great for quick overnight stops which doesn't suit my style of camping...and not forgetting Digger would struggle getting up there!

    While I dont like camping in the rain, it has also led to some of the most relaxing camping experiences. I dont like how rain collects on the canopies, and spilling it out always results in a bath. Now I have a pole with a rubber tip I use to just push on the canopy from underneath and spill it from a safe distance.

    • @4X4CA
      @4X4CA  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, Jill
      A little rain is ok while camping but after several days of heavy rain, it was time to head home.
      Good idea about the pole with a rubber tip...maybe I could put a rubber bung on the end of my walking stick 👍

    Almost time for more camping Frank, temps are dropping. My God over here in WA I have endured week after week 40-46C, cool change is happening now 👏🏾. Love your trailer, looks fairly easy set up. How do you dry it out at home after a wet camp?

    • @4X4CA
      @4X4CA  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! I’m looking forward to getting back out there…I’ve been busy with family visiting from overseas for the last several weeks.
      It’s been hot this side of the island too!…we’ve had a few days of plus 40 degrees. I hope to get to your side at some point but I’ll be sure to do it during the cooler months. I’ve yet to visit the Kimberley…my dream destination.
      The camper is going great but as with all canvas, it doesn’t fair well if packed up for too long. It’s best to open it up and let air circulate every week or so, to stop mould from taking hold…if packed away in the rain it needs airing as soon as you get home, even if it’s still raining. Better to be set up in the rain while waiting for it to stop than have it packed away wet!

      @@4X4CA look forward to the next instalment. You are well set up for touring outback WA. May is the best time/temps. Thanks for the camper tips, I have been researching that camper, I may end up getting one 👌🏾

    • @4X4CA
      @4X4CA  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don’t think I’ll make it this May…maybe next year!
      I think these forward fold campers are great. There as close to a caravan a tent can get. The standing and seating room is a massive upgrade from a regular ground based tent…plus all the built in features, slide out sink/fridge etc I purposely chose the light weight version. My ute has a low tow capacity and a low tow ball capacity but mainly because they are a lot less in cost and there isn’t much room lost…If you’re intending to sleep more than a couple, check the dimensions and preferred sleeping orientation for the lounge/spare bed conversion before making your choice. Other than that, there are all basically the same.
      I got mine for 1/2 the price of a new one and it was only 4 years old. Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any other questions. Happy camping!
