Great video! I've been on a folding knife kick recently but I've also been eying the gen III Microtechs as well as, randomly, a Medford Butterfly knife lol
I have the Medford Viceroy butterfly knife, I did a video on it. It is a very well made Balisong, if you are using it. If you are in to all the tricks and stuff, I have to say it is not the best option, especially for the price.
Very true about the money you have when you quit drinking and doing drugs.....been sober 17 yrs now and I buy what ever I want when I want....it pisses people off but hey u do u.....
Years ago you gave me good advise on Houge OTF. Then you did a review on your old channel on the Piranha Knives Excalibur. I reached out to Piranha Knives I had an old email. The owner on a Sunday got back to me because I thought they were out of business no website. He said no way gave me his personal number. Before I call him this week want your opinion on this Piranha Knives Excalibur as of today. Thank you
I personally had some issues in the past with Piranha Excaliburs. The last 1 I reviewed was the newer batch from last year with the s-30V blade instead of the 154cm. I’m not sure of any changes made to the knife, but it seemed to fire better. That one I fired quite a bit and not 1 misfire. I would buy one again. I really like bigger knives, I think that is why I keep letting the Piranha go. It has a 3.2 inch blade and I tend to purchase near 4. It is a very good knife, blade HQ has some right now.
It is very light weight, I am not sure of my thoughts on that one yet. I am pretty sure if made by Benchmade, and being a dagger, they have done their testing to make sure it holds up to its intended stabbing purpose, but beyond that we will have to wait and see. I am curious to see the internal mechanism.
Yes, you are right, just watched, I am very interested in seeing the longevity of this knife. Should hold up fine, not a big fan of grivory, should have been at least G-10 for the price. The 420 liner is something Benchmade has used on lots of their lineup to strengthen handles and has been proven over the years, the liner is used in the infidel and that knife is great. I have a guy at my job that is waiting for one in coyote tan, hopefully he will get it soon. I honestly am not interested in this one enough to spend that kind of money on cheaper materials, I would go with a hogue or guardian tactical before this. Nice knife as far as looks go.
@@Momo-hy7qj yeah I already have a hogue and GT along with microtechs and heretic , axial. I just purchased the claymore otf 🤦♂️. It’s time to add a benchmade otf to the collection. I’m also really interested in the piranha Excalibur. I have two of piranha’s out the sides. They are nice.
The Excalibur is bad ass, I’m actually looking at a green with stonewashed right now. I have owned a few of them over the years, not sure why I keep selling them, I am always looking for something new. Make sure you get one with the s-30V blade, those are the newer models. Blade Hq has them all listed as 154cm, I know that the stonewashed blades are all s-30V
You are correct, there was lots of different years that I had problems. Select fire, with double stamped serial number (2 different numbers), at least 3 combat troodons and an ultratech misfires around the same 2013 to 2017 times. A halo 5 and 6 with lock out problems. I did get pissed at one point and sold all my Microtechs, but got myself back into them eventually, happy with what I have now.
Really just depends on what company makes it in China and how their QA is. I know there is plenty of good coming out of China, hell I’ve seen knives that blow ours away, but I have owned several from low quality manufactures that are complete junk. But to say they are made in America is the big problem.
@@Momo-hy7qjI personally owns 5 hawks model C include the John wick 4 set. No doubt hawks knife is way better than Microtech, with zero blade play, am I ever going to use it, definitely NOT. I have over 20 Microtech knife in my collection, and also I have serval Chinese copy of the MT knife. I find the Chinese copy has better frame than the original MT, comparing the Ultratech between the Chinese copy and authentic UT, I still prefer the Chinese copy, the reason behind it is, the housing of the knife is larger and slightly bigger blades, and I need to mention both OTF miss fired serval times

The TI deadlock is my daily for the last year. 0 issues … now I have several and nothing else seems to compare.
I have an unused and uncarried pristine Model B, batch 9 marbled carbon fiber with heat treated Ti hardware I WTS if interested
Congrats on the G&G that’s a grail for sure.
Fun hearing about some of the other otfs, only handled microtechs so far!

What are your thoughts on the new Benchmade Claymore otf that they just released? I really like the looks of it and it’s light weight.

@@Momo-hy7qj there already is a disassembly video on TH-cam. You’ll see it, easy to find.

Maxace Medusa 2 in el max steel with 7075 aluminum and titanium inlays takes the win 😅
I love my microtechs but now I will only buy in person not on line QC isn't what it was my 2018-2020 better then my 21-23 . Just my opinion

You’re absolutely correct. Microtech’s QC is horrible. Those cheap Chinese knock offs are better quality from my experience - I have videos on it.
Piranha Excalibur ❤
Chinese don’t make shit, really depends on your budget, Chinese can copy Microtech knife 1:1 for half of the price.

Str8 up Cosa Nostra G
Marfione custom over a Deadlock all day. Deadlock blade to handle ratio is terrible. Value for money also terrible💸👀
