Oscar you are the best organ player i've ever admired. Not just for los Unicos, but for all the other albums you've recorded, especially you're albums with Laura Canales. Oscar Solís i believe he was known as el pulpo, he inspired me to learn keyboards very similar to his songs.also los shekkanos de Juan Guerrero,Los Colegas de Laredo Texas and my next doors neighbors Sangre Mexicana also from Laredo also inspired me. I believed Oscar also played with Snow Ball and with Felicidad with Laura Canales.

Still Awesome! While today's artists are good and a few stand out, the former groups and vocalists were terrific and continue to outshine today's artists by a mile or 2. They just had it !, I think they were really, really, into their music, thereby overwhelmingly pleasing their listening and dancing fans. Friendly and pleasing, yes they were, no arrogance, no hey " look at me ", just their songs for their fans!, to listen to, to dance to while trying to sing the tune or humming it in your squeeze's ear. And their very lively and exceedingly funny cumbias with lyrics funning about la pretita, or el borracho, or la chismosa, or el Sancho, or la suergua, or el lecherous, or whatever. Sure miss that today.
Thank you for this video! It took me back 45 years. Those faces and being able to watch and play with Oscars keyboard at Calderon ballroom in Phoenix Az. This also reminds me of the time they performed in channel21 studio for a local broadcast. I rode the tour bus with them to Texas to visit family. A big influence to why my boys are musicians now. Tacho was my mother's cousin. I may have been their youngest roadie.
Grew up in McAllen and used to listen to many of the old groups and I really enjoyed Snowball and Los Unico's - Los Fabulosos Cuatro - Carlos Guzman and have taken this music to many parts of the world and today I am sharing this music in Bali, Indonesia.....10/20/20019
Love this video, always wondered if Los Unicos would reunite at least once and from this video, they did. Who is the vocalist in the red vest, that is not the great Tacho Rivera? Wish I could have seen them perform one last time before Snowball's death. One of my very favorite groups from the 70's.
