40 years ago, programmers didn't worry about clusters, se,urity, storage, performance as the mainframe did it all for.you. Now you have to learn multiple languages and.open source frameworks.which go out of.fashion quickly or create a security risk.as the open source falls.out of.favor and vulnerabilities are introduced. In same ways the state of the art has gotten more comp!ex compared to what mainframe programmers did 40 hears ago

Ok I had an amazing idea, what if we combined kubernetes and js compiler (v8).
Imagine a compiler that does code path analysis, figures out what function is the bottleneck, and spins out it as a microservice.
Every function would have a potential to become a microservice if need be.
This would be revolutionary. Automatic scaling with no architecture problem.
In javascript all promise returning functions could do this.
    So take this call stack:
    fn1: 20
    fn2: 25
    fn3: 60
    fn4: 20
you can see fn3 takes almost 3x time than the average time.
so every time this code runs (http request) our resources are kinda stuck esp if this is api call to third party
why not simply extract fn3 out and run it 3x instances of it.
    Better if compiler does it.

    • @d.sherman8563
      @d.sherman8563 2 ปีที่แล้ว

This would only really work with async functions though, and in that case most already work in this way, 99% of the time spent waiting on an http request the application isn't waiting, it just has a callback on the eventloop which is called when the http call returns and is doing other stuff on the meantime. Look into the javascript event loop, it already does what your saying pretty much but just on a single machine.

Kubernetes is Greek for "steerman", and is the word "cybernetics" derives from - they imagined a "science if sciences", that would guide all the other sciences along it's haft when coining the term.

    Too general explanation)
To make your container able to deploy in k8 you should pick node agent ( kubelet for servers, microk8s or minikube for local) and write deployment config for node and apply that in node agent.
After this your container will be set to pod and replicas (if you set resplicants to 2 or more), but here you container is not accessible from internet.
You need to connect pod to internal network of k8s and expose port to internet. Write service config that will add pods to internal nertwork, and then ingress config for exposing to web.
    1. Node agent
    2. Docker container
    3. Deployment.yml
    4. Service.yml
    5. Ingress.yml
and you have your project in k8s
