    I just purchased the HSK 1 course. It's far and away the best Chinese learning resource I have bought! It's perfect for my level, not boring me with simple sentences that are not useful.

    I remember when I first tried to learn Chinese it seemed like deciding to climb Mount Everest , an unachievable task .
    But what I find remarkable is how helpful Chinese people are and how enthusiastic to help others learn this remarkable language .
    Your channel shows all the enthusiasm , patience , skill and effort that has been put into mastering the languages of English and Chinese Mandarin and an ability to teach the subject , editing skills to make these videos as well as great content . Many thanks .

    I especially like the large font and the highliting of the words in yellow. This is especially useful in seeing where they are placed in a sentence compared to English. A personal THANK YOU, Andy!!

    Thank you Andy. This is the best video on TH-cam so far!!! The voice of the girl (I think Sara) with her pleasant accent is delightful. She speaks clearly, so I understand the pronunciation of the words much better. The big letters on the black background makes it ideal for studying late at night on TV. Also, the words are large enough to see without reading glasses on my cell phone while driving at red lights. Words classified in alphabetical order are easy to find. I have one request or suggestion. In this video, Sara repeats the sentence twice, and then you give the meaning in English. It would be very helpful if she repeated the sentence one more time at the end (three times in total). Don’t forget most of us are beginners. Please make more similar videos with Sara.

    In your phrase "他高兴地(de)走了“ and not "他高兴地(di)走了“? Can we use "他高兴得走了” or “他高兴的走了”? Please explain. Thank you.

    First of all I want to thank you for this teaching. I'm so happy to have found your videos. I've often watched movies with this beautiful language. Every sentence sounds like a song. But I am only being to study this, and I am shy to say. I was a little confused when the video came to the helpful phrase
    " He is older than me. " it took me awhile but I found out why I was confused. It is ( I'm sorry to say) because the wrong words are being highlighted. The caricature for bi, the letters wò. And the English word "than" are highlighted. So sorry again. I really don't mean any disrespect to you. I just don't know, but you probably already know about this.

    • @AskAndy
      @AskAndy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The literal translation for "比bi" can be "compared to" but we didn't do that for flashcards because they were not Chinese lessons. And we had to highlight "than" in the sentence which is the part overlapped in English. You can check out our latest videos to learn more with literal translations for each word in sentences like this one:th-cam.com/video/nvYzVzgaOdg/w-d-xo.html

    Thanks for the (new) HSK1 and HSK2 PDFs. But, even though it says "Characters, PinYin, English translation", it actually doesn't contain the English translation. This makes this list a lot less useful. I got these lists through an email as stated by your instructions. Further, it's a picture instead of text, so I can't even select the characters to translate them!
    Am I doing something wrong? Is there a better list?
