The diamond had very good car control but his set-ups were so bad. Every time he got a good set-up he scored it. I do feel they were being a little harsh and it is a lot of pressure doing it while be watched by a popular youtuber, and a guy who is obviously better than you, AND still know that the video is going up for thousands to see.

I’m just gonna say this. I was diamond for the longest time and I just hit champ because I learned flip resets. I’ve only ever seen one person hit a flip reset and diamond and they were smudging cause no diamond can hit a triple flip reset. He’s definitly an above average diamond. Half the people in diamond I stg can’t even tornado spin my guy. Give him some credit he’s playing against a pro freestyler

However ranking up needs a consistent play of the basics, mechanics and game sense. Like you may be able to hit a double flip reset but if your diamond 1 that just says you don’t focus enough on the basics and game sense. However, yes if you can hit a double flip reset your mechanics in diamond are by FAR better than like 95% of diamond players and so is the guy in the video. That is impressive for a diamond though I will say.
The diamond definitely was a freestyler. Went way above with what was asked and proceeded to fail over and over again. The diamond actually had some good skills. Same as literally every pro freestyles though, needs more consistency. Remember, these are the players that go clip hunting for hours on end, not the ones that can score the same goal on command.
