Solomon Burke was one of the greatest Soul singers of all time. He was also one of the most under-appreciated singers of all time. I loved the man and his music 🎶.
When oh when will we have performers of the calibre of Solomon Burke. What an absolute sublime joy to listen to him. All my worries of the day have vanished into the ether. His music, voice, expressions and ability to captivate the audience is beyond words

It's also because he was an artist who became a RocknRoll Hall of Famer, who was also a vertically integrated businessman who was an ordained minister and a licensed undertaker who'd see you from cradle to grave, and who left behind 19 children and 90 grandchildren. When I was younger, I'm 73 now, I don't ever remember hearing his music, and, Oh, God, had I missed out on a brilliant voice, and so damned much soul.
