  • Van life for the more intrepid - and at only 5.8 metres, you can park it in a normal car space. is it the best 4WD motorhome in Australia? How does it fare on the world stage?

Thanks Simon, sitting in our Pathfinder as I watched this. Don’t forgot to join the owner forum, full of great tips. Hope you enjoy as much as we have.

So happy to have found your channel. That was a great video, and I love to see you continue to make many more, I really enjoyed it.
I’m a prospective explorer, motorhomes purchaser as well, and it’s great to have had a look through the pathfinder, that’s a really cool machine.

G'day there, would love to do some overlanding in Arizona, absolutely amazing part of the world. I reckon there might be a market in the US for some more compact but capable 4wd rigs - one thing I love about the Pathfinder is that it is compact enough to park in a normal (Aussie at least) car park. Cheers Simon

At last! Been hoping for someone to do experiences with the explorer, very limited. Looking forward to seeing more from you guys. We are hoping to get the pathfinder, the seating and windows are the best. Good luck with your Chanel, it will be great I can tell. 😊

Thank you for your kind words - I would loved to havel been able to watch a walkthrough youtube video when I was considering the Explorer but there weren't any around. Happy to provide information out there for prospective purchasers and those keenly waiting for theirs to arrive! Cheers Simon

Great video thanks Simon. My Pathfinder is on order, due mid 2024 and I can't wait! The Pathfinder panoramic windows sold me too. There's lots of decisions to be made very soon... Look forward to your future videos.
    Cheers Rita

    Hi Simon
What a beautiful spot to camp!Really enjoyed watching your detailed walkthrough of your beautiful Pathfinder though I must admit I got distracted by your cute dog, Scooby ❤❤ .. looks like he’s having the best life there!
I wish there were videos like these a few years ago when we had to make a decision to purchase our Vision model or whilst patiently waiting for it to be built.
Love the interior choice and the panoramic view at the back. Looking forward to your vid about the composting toilet. We currently carry a second tank if we go off grid for a long time.
Happy travels and Many Thanks for mentioning my channel as well 🙏❤

Thanks Angie, your excellent videos inspired me to do a walkthrough, hopefully others will find our vids useful on their possible Explorer journeys. Scooby will always be the star attraction! He loved meeting the roaming cows, camels, goats and even a horse (the place is called Mamas country escape). I have just uploaded my take on the Boxio toilet - I am very happy with it. Might see you out there someday on the road! Cheers

The long overhang at the back will be a big problem it needs to be much sorter and ideally angled

Suncamper in May 2024 released the new Conqueror 2.0, with a much larger sleeping area up top compared to the Explorer, with extra solar and lithium battery capacities, etc. Worth a look.

Hi ya! That was great! Hubby and I are looking to purchase an Explorer motor home. Tossing up between the Vision and the Pathfinder. Really loved the layout of the pathfinder but not keen on the bed orientation. Hubby is 6’4”… worried it might be too squeezy. Have to congratulate your Minister for Interior decoration. Excellent choices! Love the black and white. Makes the whole interior look so much more spacious. We are deciding as to whether we add the gas bbq. What are your thoughts on that? Awesome first video! Scoops is the star of course but well done you!

    • @HaveGadgetsWillTravel-zv3xc
      @HaveGadgetsWillTravel-zv3xc  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thanks for your kind words. I am 6 foot 3, and the bed is very comfortable. The east-west makes it awkward for two when it comes to night time tinkle time - but the dinette bed is very quick and easy to set up, so there is always the option to have separate quarters....Re gas bbq - I am indifferent to it as I have lots of cooking gadgets (including a collapsible bbq called the "stov" I am going to review)...but as we didn't go with a gas oven inside, it will be handy to be able to roast in the marine bbq. Explorer are great with after sales service, you can't go wrong! Cheers Simon

Great video and have been waiting for a thorough look at the Pathfinder.
For your build, how long did it take from putting your order in? Am currently budgeting to buy and want to factor in build time. Thanks

When I ordered they estimated a 12 month wait time - actuall time was about 10 months. Not sure of current wait times - I may be biased, but I reckon worth the wait!

Hey thanks so much for a great video - so helpful. As a solo traveller I think this would suit me perfectly - we did a lot of outback travel with a camper trailer but I'm not confident in towing or hooking up on my own, and I like the security of this set up. I also love that it lets me go 4WD instead of sticking to the caravan parks and bitumen. How have you found it 2 months down the track and and tips for when I order? And I take it the company was good to deal with. I'm in BNE so looks like the company is close by. Thanks so much for the great vid!

Hi there, thanks for your comments. Company very good to deal with, they have a good reputation, and that has been my experience. You can buy with confidence, any issues will be promptly rectified. Although I am yet to tackle any serious 4wd territory, I know the vehicle will be very capable when I need it to be, I am particularly keen on doing some beach driving in the not too distant future. I, too, was not interested in towing, never done it and never plan to...
I went for the "Xtreme" pack with all bells and whistles, if it is within budget I would opt for that,.no regrets later on. I'd also add a third lithium battery (which I plan on adding myself soon). You can't go wrong with whichever floor plan you pick. Cheers Simon

@@HaveGadgetsWillTravel-zv3xc Thanks so much, I went and had a look at their models today thanks to your video and I think it's the one for me - I like the panoramic windows in the Pathfinder. I notice you chose the leather seat vs fabric - how have you found these? I was also wondering about the shower, if everything gets wet or is it okay with the shower curtain pulled. I really appreciated the Boxio video - do you think swapping the casette toilet for a composting one would be the way to go in a new build? And one more question, I know you mentioned it but where does Scoobie sit in the car? is there room for a pooch companion?

you're right about there being no videos online showing the Explorers. I am hoping to buy the exact same camper ASAP If you get to Tasmania let me know. I would love to actually get a good look inside one. They don't have squat in this State. PS I have a small acreage overlooking the Derwent River near Hobart (outer suburb) if you need a place to stop.

Aussie bush insects can be very loud! I am investing in some noise cancelling mics which will hopefully alleviate that in issue in future 👍
