Wow! 10mS is a big amount compared to the other units in its price range. Thanks for the review Leo! You should definitely revisit this bracket of products in a new shoot out, especially since we've had a few updates in recent months. The Hotone Ampero, Valeton GP, this one, the Flamma, etc., maybe do a "budget pedal board" shoot out, which is the best overall. ;)
Excellent video 😎🎸, I'm thinking about buying it, I haven't decided yet. Does it have good dynamic sound, simulation effects compared to the nux mg 30? thank you very much 😎👌
Great review Leo. Very interesting product. Very enjoyable demo songs as well. Looking forward to another, updated shootout with the budget modelers in this same price range. The price and feature set is pretty compelling. God bless and rock on 🎸😎👍
Thank you for adding the dimensions! I wanted to know how big it is, and how it would fit on my board. And I couldn't find measurements anywhere, not even on their website.
Thank you, I'm really happy that you like the review! Yes, I do agree...it's hard to choose...I'm working on a pretty big comparison video to provide you with some help...but it's taking really a long time...
I think the the loop doubling the latency is what should be expected. You're doing a D/A conversation to the send and an A/D conversion from the return. I guess the units that don't have this increment are preemptively inducing latency to compensate free FX loop.
Leo your compositions and playing never let us down. Amazing. With regard to this unit how would you rate it’s effects? I’m looking at it for effects only as I really like using the ToneX pedal for amps but need something for effects and don’t want a Helix stomp.
Thank you so much....when you like my music...I'm super happy!!! Well, it's hard to give a black or white answer, as effects are very personal and I'm not an effect geek. for me it is just fine...I would not have problems using the effects of this unit. Thank you!
I just got one of these things and it is pretty decent. The only thing I’m a bit confusing is when it comes to the CTRL switch. I’ve made a couple of my own presets and when I try to set the control button to turn an effects off (indicated by the red light)….sometimes it turns the wrong ones off…or turns them all off….or turns the reverse off. I’ve spent hours playing a game of whack a mole….or something. I know I’m doing something wrong, but I just don’t what I’m not seeing here. Everyone’s doing reviews and saying how great this thing is but not explaining these concepts. I get it eventually but I’m not clear on how I’m doing it. They could have made that aspect of it a lot easier in my opinion. You should be able to go to the control button setting (CTRL 3)…and it should show all the modules (none of them greyed out) and there should be two check boxes… “on” or “off” in the red light state..not just one check box.
Anyone know how the looper and drummer features in the Sonicake MatriBox2 compare to the Donner Arena 2000? The Donner offers no count-off feature when using the drummer -- in fact, the drummer and looper seem totally isolated -- as in, the drummer does not even stay in sync with the looper.
Teacher, would yo compare this one with the donner arena 2000? I recently realized that both are the same except that the arena has an iphone/android app
Hi Léo ! I bought your IR's pack to improve this particular unit and the software shut down every time I try to download one. I found out that it s a matter of sampling rate as it works fine with 44.1 khz IR's. Would you mind please sending me your IR's with this sample rate (generally, packs come in several sample rate) so that I can enjoy your ir pack I paid for. Sorry to ask here but the mail I get the irs from is a no reply thing. Best regards
10 ms with the loop is a lot, all pedalboards, excluding boss gt1000, suffer from latency when they have all the effects turned on, as well as the fx loops.
Hi, I would say that you have to take into consideration the latency of your whole system...if you add and effect with A D A conversion in the loop....latency sum app, if you add a wireless system, latency sum app, if you are few meters away from the speaker, latency sum up. At the end, the whole latency of your entire system, could provide you with an uncomfortable experience.
I correct any noticeable latency in my recordings by sliding the guitar (latent) tracks forward to drop it back in on time. As long as it doesn't interfere with the creativity of the initial "take". I also use a different unprocessed head phone mix without latency to mentally stay in time

Thanks for the demo. Very sceptical about digital gear, but it may be time to step in :)

Nice review as always. Its though to know which unit to choose in that price range. But then, probably all of them sounds better then me :)

I really like your Demo song "Might be". I would like to listen that song from Apple Music.
Thank you, I'm really happy that you like the song....and you are right...I should upload the songs on the stream platforms....
Thanks for the hard work and review, Leo! For me, the latency system level is important.
You are welcome. I will try to check this info in all my reviews.
I know this is a year old already but I'm trying to decide on if I should get this or the nux mg400. Can you help me make my decision?

Hello. How to add a wah effect to a pedal?is this possible?
Leo, did you used this pedalboard in 4 cable method? More hum noise or quiet? Thanks from Brasil!
Hi, good point...I have not tested with the 4CM....maybe in the coming weeks...
i saw a new flamma multifx . looks promising as it runs on battery.

They're both great tbh. I feel the matribox 2 is slightly better tonal wise tho. The arena has bluetooth which is great also

Hi, unfortunately I don't have the Arena....therefore I can't compare...I'm sorry!
Thank you!!!
Hello sir. I am willing to buy this in Nepal. Is it worth buying. If there are any others good gadgets like this under same budget kindly suggest me
Hi, it's a good unit....other option could be the NUX MG 30, the Valeton GP 200, or the BOSS GX 100 spending more money.
Thanks!
@@LeoGibsonGtr thank you for the suggestion. I bought matibox ii

SONICAKE MatriBox II vs Hotone Ampero II Stomp comparison? I really like the Stomp II, but this Matrix II is tempting
Thank you for your suggestion.
Is it better than the zoom g1x4
Hi, generally I would say yes....but of course it depends from your needs and your taste.
Thank you for your message!

Hi, it does not...as far as I know...

Lo considerás mejor que Nux mg30?
I would rather compare it to the MG 400 instead of the MG 30...
I hope to be able to make some comparison videos in the coming weeks...

A 10ms latency for the effects loop basically makes it unuseable
Hi, thank you for sharing.
I believe humans cant even detect latency under 15-20ms so dont think it will be an issue
