    These are nothing. I knitted a whole new cat from the fur on the sofa.

    I cut my toothpaste tubes open and always get at least 3 more brushes!
    Another thing I do. I never buy plastic wrap or Tupperware. Cottage cheese, yogurt, and other containers are great. I use them for my own food, and when I'm giving food away! Also, anything wrapped in plastic (like paper towels, toilet paper, bread bags) I keep the plastic and use for small garbage bags and to cover plates of food with.

    Broccoli stalks are perfectly edible, indeed some people prefer them to the florets.

    What was the Christmas tree one at 03:58? What are they doing differently?

      These trees have not been cut. These still have their root balls and can be planted after holiday use!
      A cool new custom in some circles; tree gets decorated the day after thanksgiving (family day!).
      No need to cook; leftovers!
      Then, on Jan 7th, tree gets planted somewhere, and "decorated" with wild bird treats. I love this idea!👍👏

    Cafes that will give you coffee in your own cup/mug/etc rather than a disposable cup are great but they all stopped doing that during the pandemic and quite a few never started again.

    If you're going to take or give food - like an office party or a funeral or pot luck - you can get containers/plates, often unbreakable, at thrift stores and not have to worry about getting them back. Holiday themed items are also great to get second hand. Thrift stores are an underused resource.

      Yeah, I didn't get that one either. Maybe they get ready made soups and hot food at the grocery store without using the disposable containers and just bring their own Corningware or whatever it's called. ??

      I saw this in another video, and there's a part missing here. It's about how cheap those old casseroles are in thrift stores and the like, and they always buy them and have some in store to give away food instead of using tin foil or other packages that produce waste. The person taking the food with them can either return the dish or give it away to the next person on a similar occasion.

    8:12 I always save my vegetable peels, stumps, stalks and other leftovers for broth. I mean, why throw them away and then buy fresh veggies only to also throw them away after cooking them out? Using all instead of wasting twice!

    • @honeybeeisme
      @honeybeeisme 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Delores, do you simply boil the veggie “waste” and then strain? It sounds like a great idea!

    • @DoloresLehmann
      @DoloresLehmann 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@honeybeeisme That's exactly what I do. I let it boil for quite some time, 2-3 hours minimum. First bring to a boil, then reduce to minimum heat and let it simmer. I also add some salt and other spices to taste, and then it gets a great flavour.

    8:37 I once had such a thing, but I find it more convenient to push the remaining toothpaste forward with the toothbrush handle.
    At some of our supermarkets, breath from yesterday is always discounted to often only a quarter of the normal price.
    Still very good bread, and saves a lot of money for someone like me, who has to watch his budget.😊
