So, I was a hairstylist for 7 years and had a client who was a flight attendant. He said, by far, the worst celebrity he ever served was Lea Michele. She apparently wouldn’t look anybody in the eye, wouldn’t speak to anyone, and had Cory Monteith speak for her. He even apologized and was nothing but gracious saying, “Sorry she’s just like this.” I don’t understand how he was with her if he was a lovely person!

I did background work for Glee and we were instructed to remain quiet during filming. Lea was so loud, disrespectful, and disruptive while others filmed. We all got annoyed because it was delaying an already long production day… No one seemed to like or be in awe of her.
WHAT?! So she was loud while others filmed but demanded respect from Samantha Ware while she filmed? Unbelievable
I did background too, and I never saw anything but EVERYONE else who was a regular extra on the show had seen her be crazy awful. Just too many people with the same stories about her!
Were the directors allowing her to act that way? And if so, why?

I had a bad interaction with Lea as well! I was at the stage door of funny girl as she was entering to get ready for her performance. She stopped to take a photo with a young girl with Down syndrome and had her assistant take a photo for her own Instagram to show how sweet she was to her fans.
As soon as she was done with her I asked for a photo (it was me, two other people and the family of the girl with Down syndrome.) She looked at us, rolled her eyes gave us the nastiest stare like we were gum under her shoe and slammed the door in our face.
It was like she wanted the publicity with the girl with disabilities to be on her page to prove she was sweet to her fans. The other two girls and I were just like “wtf was that about.”
I sold my ticket directly after that interaction. I wasn’t going to see the show after that bs and saw Michael Jackson across the street instead.

The fact that people like Heather confirmed Lea was indeed bullying people on set but was afraid to go to the proper people in fear of being out of a job says alot, especially being ADULTS at a workplace. If you can't go to the "proper" people over workplace issues, that's a huge red flag.

If they ever even change. I’ve dealt with those who will “change” to save their reputation; though really they are the same mean girl inside. I used to have this friend I called, “A reformed mean girl.” Really she didn’t change. I suspect she is still a mean girl to this day. 😏 The “Plastics” actresses were and are all such lovely ladies - though because of that, Mean Girls sort of created this backlash. Some ppl wanting to emulate instead of internalizing the real message of the movie…… which is a shame.
She was barely in school always pulled out for acting lessons, classes and camps. She thought she was always better than everyone in highschool and in all of NJ! She was MEAN !! Too see her on TV and a "STAR" I was appalled. When people started to speak out about her, i was proud of them and well honestly, felt vindicated as Ive told people she was not nice in real life EVER.

I was a background actor on glee from time to time. I never had the experience of Lea Michele being mean to me personally, but I always heard horror stories from my peers. I’m glad most people know about this now.

I always wondered what Cory Monteith saw in her. He seemed so nice and she seems so so mean.
Well, she liked him back so that could be why he liked her so much, because it was a mutual feeling. If she didn’t like him back then he probably would’ve gotten that disrespect that everyone else was getting.
Perhaps he wanted someone to take care of him (she seems like the type to take charge), to love and protect him from his issues. Not saying she’s a narcissist, but often times narcissists are amazing at making you feel alive and unique, and you start to excuse their rudeness to others because they’re loving to those ‘who matter to them’, wich doesn’t mean you are bad iykwim.
For example a friend of mine grew up in a very abusive household and was constantly drugged to handle life and this girl came and made his life amazing… except she kept on getting worst and worst with anyone else around him. And when asked why, she would say she had issues trusting people, and that she was constantly stressed out so she would sometimes take out on strangers instead of her loved ones (because he told her his parents would always be civil and all smiles to strangers but at home would yell and fight and be always stressed out and how sad it was that most people would take out on those they trusted the most so she knew where to hit).
So I mean, it’s complicated, and he can’t be here to explain but duo to how sweet he seemed to always be (the image of him apologizing to a paparazzi because Dianna was trying to protect him from his rude questions always sticks with me) I think is somewhat safe to assume he was just always trying to see the best in people and trying to mediate..

I met her at a charity event as a kid and was involved in a convo with her and a few other actors. Even then I found her unbearably annoying, inauthentic, self centered, and rude. She was also weirdly shocked over my lack of interest and turn down of a picture.

I went to a performing arts college in New York and one of Lea’s dance/body doubles was my instructor- she told us Lea was an absolute nightmare to work with and refused to do anything slightly physically straining such as leaning on a table. Lol

Not saying this excuses her behavior but it is very easy to see how a child Broadway performer who basically got a show written about her may have had a superiority complex. from what I have heard after glee and now in funny girl she has become much more humble and overall much nicer to work with.
I love how Riveria said she was unprofessional because it shows how smart she was. Before the pandemic, I worked in live theatre and I seriously think there’s too many people who think saying something makes it true. Lea Michelle is difficult to work with but she thinks she’s the most hardworking and professional person in the world and producers believed her but being condescending and nasty to everyone around you makes everything more difficult and ISN’T professional. Some of the people I worked with would probably explode if they had the revelation. Like when I studied abroad in college and lived with five other people. One of them was from the Midwest and was the self-proclaimed nicest person in my program. I was excited to get to know her because everyone said that and then she bullied me mercilessly the entire time I was there. Three of our other roommates had to have individual conversations with her because she would literally yell at me for everything. I didn’t even think she was bullying me because in my head all I could think of was how everyone considers her to be nice

I don’t know if I would say hers was “better” only because Lea’s version was very Broadway standard caliber (as it’s a stage song) while Naya’s was more pop…but I definitely enjoy it more. That performance alone eclipses all of Lea’s attempts at pop music.

It was the first big role for most of the castmates and Lea was Ryan Murphys muse it seems like, so they knew or at least thought she could make them lose their job. That power dynamic can be too intimidating especially if you're trying to achieve and live your dream and maybe even financially depend on it. That was a one time opportunity for most of them and too much of a power dynamic

So I have a friend who’s in the ensemble of funny girl right now, and they told me that Lea Michele has been a saint throughout the whole run so far. Like, she goes out her of her way to be nice and helpful to people backstage. Don’t know if she’s actually trying to change or if she’s trying to make herself look better, but you know, let’s hope for the best.
She said in a interview early this year that she was trying to change and that she reached out to multiple old cast mates over quarantine

I think the fact that Ryan Murphy made Lea the star of the show and did everything to make her shine above the others. Made her into what she is, a person who thinks she's the best actress in the world. I felt bad for Cory for putting up with her. And you know, I watched the Glee documentary on Discovery+ and they said a scene where someone, who Cory loved, told him to use the d word, which led Cory to his fate. I don't know for some reason, I feel like that was Lea because she didn't want to share the limelight with Cory. I don't know if anyone else saw the documentary and had the same opinion but I don't know. I don't think their relationship was real now after watching the documentary. But this woman needs to be blacklisted and get a regular job and see what it's like on the other side. She needs that slice of Humble Pie.

I loved her in scream queens because they literally made her a terrible person in the show and it was so perfect and amazing and exactly how she is in real life everytime something bad happened to her I laughed so hard 😂😂😂😂 I can't remember how it ended it was years ago that I watched it, but it was priceless! I really can't stand Lea gah!!! Thank you scream queens for making her look like an idiot I just hope they didn't pay her much 😂😂😂 give some of that money to people who deserve it and who actually know how to be respectful to their co stars!

There is something else that Naya Rivera brought up in her book. When Tim Conway (Carol Burrnett Show) came on as a gust star she was rude to him and his granddaughter. The whole reason he agreed to guest star was because his granddaughter loved Glee so he did it and brought her with him as a treat. Leah Michelle ignored the little girl and when Tim Conway wanted to do his thing and improvise she got mad and didn't want to do it. Naya Rivera argued that Tim Conway is a legend and if he wanted to do they should. For anyone who doesn't know Tim Conway was on The Carol Burrnett Show and had a tendency to go off script and improvise and when he did it was hilarious he made his co-stars break character all the time. This can be seen in several different skits like The Elephant Story, The Dentist, and Oldest Man as the Wardrope Manager. In The Dentist and Wardrope manager ones you can see his co-star Harvey Korman completely break character and lose it which makes it even funnier. If anyone wants to see how funny Tim Conway was just look up those 3 skits I mentioned or really any of them with Harvey Korman. Even by 2023 standards they're funny. Anyway knowing she was mean to a little girl and then rude to a comedy legend is horrible. All the man was trying to do was be a good grandpa give her a special treat and instead he had to deal with a rude bitch who was not only nasty to him but to his granddaughter
