    I installed this same setup on my 03 about 2 years ago. I recall having the same issue you had with the tension at the end. I believe there is a link or video explaining a specific order in installing to reduce the tension at the end. *Note: the major difference I did is I upsized the screws at the side ends because, like you, the screws provided made the hole, but did not hold. By upsizing to a bigger, thicker screw it handled the tension. To this day. No issues. I do agree that the company should provide better information and service.

    I feel your pain i did the same exact thing on my car, ripped 2 of the screws out of the spoiler trying to bend the corners. I ended up using a heat blanket, which i left on 20 mins each side until it was melting and discolored. Fixed the 2 ripped out screws with dry wall anchors. Junk product.

    Wow, Buyer Beware comes to mind. I was raised with "If you can't say something nice, say nothing". Not really, but I think that is my response. Thanks for sharing your testimony as it would and did totally turn me off against that brand/purchase.

    NOOOOO you drilled into your corvette!!
    J/k, we all do. Fun fact: my aero kit is extreme online store too. That 3d printed wicker bill is crap though. If you want help fixing/painting that spoiler lmk!

      Lol- I was actually thinking I’d like to re make it but make it WAAAY better quality! So yes… I’m in!

    Sorry to see your frustration with the kit, but with the mod you made to the wicker bill, it actually looks cool the way you did it.

    Wasn't it returnable? You shouldn't have to spend any amount of money on something and then try and figure it out. I would have at the very least contacted them to let them know what kind of issues you were having for sure....if not just completely returned the damn thing. You shouldn't have had to go through all that whatsoever. Sorry you had to deal with that BS. But you have patience of a virtue. Just saw the last couple minutes and saw that you did reach out...so good for you.

    Still looks good man considering what you have had to go through. 👍
    I think the ZR1 extended spoiler looks the best out of any spoiler out there for a C5.
    If I take a chance and purchase this same kit from Automotive Aerodynamics I plan on swapping out all the shiney stainless hardware for black hardware.

      @mrnobodysgarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I appreciate that.
      Honestly- if you are handy, you can make the wickerbill portion yourself with stainless hardware, better acrylic, and all you’d need are simple 3D printed brackets. (That’s all these brackets are) Save yourself the $ and the hassle of having to deal with someone else’s poor design.

    isn't it just plastic? i think if you heated it enough it would have bent

      Heat didn’t work on this one.

    Why are you trying to wrap it around the ends?

    • @mrnobodysgarage
      @mrnobodysgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s supposed to be screwed into the ends but it wasn’t molded correctly. If it were made of thinner material it would probably work.

    What a mess! That’s one ugly looking spoiler, if you can call it that. I would have complete remorse after drilling into my car and ending up with that. Sorry mate.
