    Watching this in 2020. As a millennial sometimes I forget that there was a time when Google search wasn't normal. Today I feel like it was always a big part of my life, always there on my mobile phone.

    I never thought much of the computer on Star Trek before watching the video. Now, I see it in a different light. Amit's energy and enthusiasm is contagious.

    He quoted spiderman...a version anyway "with great power (privilege) comes great responsibility". It a good one.

    This is so energetic. His passion is contagious and even though this was 6years ago, Google and finding useful, unbiased and open content have come a long way. I share his optimism of even greater improvements and transparency.

    My paternal grandmother LOVED Star Trek. Your speech evokes so many emotions because I can relate to the value of search when facing unknown risks and scenarios. But what sticks in my mind the most is "What would grandma search for? What information would she value most?" if she were alive during this information age. Now we have hot words and in-home virtual assistants. I can only theorize the amount of information she would be requesting while imagining herself aboard the USS Enterprise. Thank you Amit for making this possible, information accessible to all! :) May you live long and prosper. 🖖🏼

    I was brought here from the "foundation of SEO" course on Coursera! I loved the parallelism with "Star Trek" series common interaction "Computer...". I remember looking at Star Trek episodes with my dad when I was a little kid. Back then I didn't realise how powerful that command given to the computer was! Nowadays is something much more common and this is a great privilege! I would never stress enough the importance of recognising privileges when we have them.

    It’s amazing and incredibly refreshing to hear this intelligent, personable POC say that “We truly are a privileged generation”... as all I keep hearing normally is how oppressed everyone is! If people stopped trying to find fault in everyone else whilst playing Victim Olympics, and got on and made the best of their lives, they’d be like this guy. Top work!

    Out of all the sadness of his daughter's story, the positive side I see is that his daughter definitely is very smart to be clever enough to do that at her age!

    Muhammad Aasim. I am here from coursera.org SEO after your presence. To reply to your thought. I believe we will make something that people want to search for instead of us trying to find people.

    Here I am commenting on a google owned platform. Only thing i am concerned about is the search algorithm in the brain of our future generation, what will happen if they lose their phone, will they be able to locate themselves, find nearest help, or even interact with any person to get to their destination.
    Hey, their are sign boards and bill boards around you.
    Yes google has sorted out things for us, but to a certain level it has destroyed analytical and personal skills of many.

    • @pittalaabhishek2167
      @pittalaabhishek2167 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It has not destroyed bro. It's up to the user whether to destroy his analysis or limit the mobile usage. Google is just as many other corporations, trying to grow more and more .So it's not their fault.

    Is utility or functionality formulated to evoke explicit concerns and deny pragmatic concern, though?
    The hardware needs to get into the hands of the third world, first of all. Then how content is being shared needs to be addressed, Translate and Facebook don't integrate so well, FYI. THEN, one can formulate experiences relevantly. And, metaphorically, not by AdWords alone, not using only inferences but by the Nocturne, by the daily rhythm of news and song.

    Compare the contributions to Google from whoever that gal who made the accusations.. vs Amit Singhal. Then there was Andy Rubin, the father of Android who was let go because of a similar accusation. At some point tech companies have to ask, is it worth hiring all these women - just to appear woke and whose contributions are nothing to negligible- and lose top talent like Amit and Andy to often bogus accusations.
