    The element lawrencium was named after Ernest Lawrence.
    I believe that Ronald Coleman is most remembered for his role in "The Prisoner of Zenda."
    It's amazing how many deaths that year were from auto accidents or from suicide.

    11:22. Actually Parkyakarkus died on the night of November 25, 1958. He had just sat down on the dais next to Milton Berle after roasting Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz when he suddenly slumped over onto Berle's lap. Uncle Miltie's shout of is there a doctor in the house was met with laughter from the audience, who didn't realize Berle was being serious.

    Unless I am mistaken, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and/or sclera) is a symptom of some underlying disease process (like hepatitis or liver cancer) - not a cause of death.

    Mel Ott was a voice of the Detroit Tigers at the time of his passing......the change in status brought one of the great voices of Tigers' Baseball to the microphone, especially in the TV booth - former Tigers' great third baseman George Kell......

    • @trolleycoach
      @trolleycoach 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wasn't he the manager of the Senator's. Referring to Ott as a nice guy Leo Derocher said " Nice guys finish last."

      @trolleycoach can't remember......I just know he was a New York Giants' great as a player,, then as I mentioned, when he was killed in an accident, he was in the Tigers' broadcast booth, and after that happened, the team talked George Kell into taking over the broadcast spot......

      Mel Ott is also a popular subject of crossword puzzle clues and answers -- apparently, both halves of his name (especially the latter) are convenient in the construction of puzzles. I can't tell you how many dozens of times I have scribbled his name into a grid.

    • @cmarkbrown6549
      @cmarkbrown6549 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @trolleycoach He did manage after his playing days ended, but apparently the only team I saw him tied in with was the Giants before Leo Durocher took over the Giants' spot in 1948......

    You know, I get pretty tired of the link boxes showing up with a couple of minutes left in the video and blocking out what is on the screen. I see it all the time now, so I'm assuming it's the TH-cam corporate morons who are doing it. It's annoying, it interrupts, you should put them back at the end of the video where they should go. Anyone else?

    • @inmemoriam2000
      @inmemoriam2000  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      As far as I know, the link boxes only show up in the last 20 seconds of the video. I leave the last 20 seconds of my videos room for the boxes to not interfere with any text.

    To all. REST IN PEACE. John Hamilton passed away 12 days before I was born. I collected The Adventures of Superman on DVDS. Used to loved the way he barked at Jimmy Olson with his famous line "Don't call me Chief" even though he allowed Clark Kent and Lois Lane to call him that.

    9:18. Jack Norton played the minister in the first Three Stooges short, Woman Haters, who joined 'Jim' (Larry) and 'Mary' (Marjorie White) in marriage, even though Larry was secretly part of the 'Woman Haters Club.' He also was the escaped lunatic playing the piano atop a skyscraper in the 1946 short Rhythm And Weep.

    I watched this when I saw that it was about passings in the year that I was born. Watching through I saw a good many names I recognized and some I didn’t and then came one Augustus Owsley Stanley. I thought to myself “Bear couldn’t have died in 1958“. That’s what I realized it was his grandfather. Every Deadhead knows that name.

    This is a good video but it could have included the respected and well-liked race car driver Pat O'Connor. Pat won the pole position for the 1957 Indianapolis 500 and finished eighth. Unfortunately, he died during the first lap of the 1958 Indy 500 when a horrific first-lap accident resulted in several collisions. The shame of it all is that the multi-car accident at the start of the 1958 race was caused by the reckless driving of Ed Elisian.
