I’m terms of gaming, especially first person shooters? Take any guy, 99% of the time I guarantee he’ll say “heck yeah I’d love to play” while girls? You might, *maybe* you’ll get one or two. Having people who aren’t invested in the story and/or play style itself in the management of the game? War games should be made and handled exclusively by men. Having a girl manage a war game is like giving the Mona Lisa to an arsonist. The two don’t mix and should not be mixed under any circumstances.
I'd say the staffing issue is more microsoft's heavy reliance on contractors. They'd have to spend a large amount of time learning the engine before being able to do any work. Then their contract is up and they have to leave. Most of the people at 343 probably weren't around while the game was being developed. Even the leadership has changed recently. Infinite is a huge disappointment though. No argument on that from me.
i like how halo 2 added female marines to the fight. It showed how badly the war was going. its all adults serve time. can you hold a pistol? to the front lines with you. than in halo 3 we got civilians fighting on the front lines.

Fantastic video. Great editing and pretty much sums up how I feel about Halo. Infinite is pathetic. The fact they peddle community content as their own is disgusting. I think women working in things is fine but the problem is so many are the 'girl boss' types. They don't want to sit down, shut up and listen like most male employees have to do. The fact is if you have too many cooks in the kitchen you never get anything done. All these women are told they can and should be god. That's not how society works.
The LGBT stuff is just getting way out of hand. I’m all for the support of females working but their hiring preferences are questionable. If they’re gonna over bloat their team with more women and gay men and sacrifice merit for diversity. Then that’s a problem. A lot of devoted veteran hardcore halo fans like me feel more and more alienated and ostracized from playing any new 343i mainline halo game going forward. Most of the people in charge at 343i (excluding the passionate developers that dealt with this insanity for years), the business suits at Microsoft, as well as the people who buy into 343i's forced positivity quota's and into bad modern gaming trend habits are responsible for the mess that we got at launch in halo infinite. There's no denying that 343i have continually and consecutively had failed the halo community for over a decade since Bungie left the Halo franchise. We as halo fans feel like we have been forgotten and lied by 343i for years, I had enough of 343i as a company and the people who support 343i's incredibly bad reputation towards the veteran halo fans and the original creators who made Halo. Absolutely pathetic.
I hate the argument people make in defense of Infinite of "well at least they're listening to the community now!" Gee, I didn't realize that relying on the community to do your job was listening.
Yeah the fanbase is totally doing 343s job by bitching about problems, lemme know when the fanbase is pushing bug fixes and new content to the game, yknow, actually doing 343s job. Complaining on Reddit isn’t actually game development little guy.
When the entire framework of your business rests on hiring people based on cultural optics and diversity point, rather than actual vision and talent, it affects everything.
The series was so good that I refused to see what it became, I really gave 343 a chance time and time again after the direction Halo wars 2 took, I felt like they got it down and then they monetized the game before it came out with monster energy drinks, I saw it then.
WHy do you lie? Yes, it's true that "Halo Infinite" did not have a cooperative (co-op) campaign mode for nearly two years after its initial release. When "Halo Infinite" launched on December 8, 2021, it did so without the much-anticipated co-op campaign and Forge mode, which allows players to create custom maps and game modes. These features have traditionally been a staple of the Halo series, so their absence was notable and disappointing for many fans. The co-op campaign feature was eventually released on November 8, 2022, almost a year after the game's launch. However, this was limited to online co-op, with the split-screen local co-op option being canceled by 343 Industries in September 2022. The delay in these features was attributed to the developers' focus on addressing other issues and improving the overall state of the game post-launch.
@@ebblesr No, you don't understand. Split-screen in MULTIPLAYER - not campaign - has been in the game since launch. You can play splkit-screen slayer and you could since DAY 1.

@@Skyfecta Split screen multiplayer, which is ARGUABLY what most of the fanbase is crying about not having, has always been there. You're right. It's hilarious just how ignorant the Halo fanbase is, using every excuse to complain about 343, who produced one of the best Halo sandboxes (weak story, I will admit) in a pandemic!! Kudos to them! When people think back to their "glory days", which is really just hyped up nostalgia from when they actually had friends, they think about the Halo Multiplayer experiences and sandbox more than they think about playing the actual campaigns. At a party, the way split screen is designed to be used, who is gonna be like "okay guys, who wants to start a Halo campaign?" NO! You're gonna fire up the multiplayer and play a few rounds in customs. And that is entirely possible with Halo Infinite couch co-op in multiplayer, which has been in there since Day 1. If I want to play campaign with my friends, I'll fire it up after work, and hop on discord and chat to them that way. Not the end of the world.

343 have been ruining infection mode ever since they took over multiplayer development for Reach in 2011 or 2012. They immediately started making changes to maps & the game mode that completely missed the point.
Developing a whole new graphics engine, just for the sake of not paying royalties, and using various outsourced teams and temporary contractors to stitch together this dysfunctional Frankenstein. Releasing the game with maybe 15% of its content, without the campaign, never touching the Flood while introducing a lame new generic species no one cares about. No coop at launch, free to play 'service' with battle passes and horrid cosmetic landfill that doesn't resemble war or conflict whatsoever, FREAKING ARMOR CORES and PAID COLORS. Complete lack of sandbox, no social aspects, no progress, NO FUN. Also, going woke. Everything this company could've done wrong, they did. Fire 343.
You're parroting most points made by The Act Man and HiddenXperia - who are very well known to criticise decisions made that THEY already called for. Whining about the multiplayer story dragging the game down and limiting content only to whine about the fact that they removed the story because now there's no narrative. Complaining that there's not enough weapons when they praised the tighter-focused sandbox and uniqueness of each weapon. That Last Spartan Standing was a watered down Battle Royale with no substance yet they want it back because it was "popular" (it wasn't). You say you've been left out of a job because you're male, but I can confirm for you as that most game dev studios are still majority male. Not that the stats aren't publicly available, mind you - anyone can find this out. Seems to me like your attitude and your expectations are the issue. You claim to be left out of the industry for being a man, but as far as I can tell, you're not even qualified for the *gaming* industry. You made animations in UE4, but that's it. The producers of Mandalorian used Unreal Engine, too. Are they failed game developers? You ended the video whining about non-existent DEI issues within Halo also doesn't connect at all to the rest of the video. Some of your point had some real weight and value such as how they fell onto Forge as a crutch and how Halo 2 had better water effects. You had actual decent points. And then you come out of nowhere saying that Halo is woke now, because... Because it's woke and that you feel threatened as a man... By... What? You didn't even explain why. You failed to explain how Halo has actually been impacted by what you consider to be "wokeness" (and like always, fail to actually define what that means other than being a special buzzword) other than saying you as a player have been emasculated... By...? What...? How have "identity politics" (a fake issue whipped up by incapable politicians that refuse to tackle real issues such as homelessness, inflation, veteran's care, etc. and focus on it because it gives people something to latch onto instead od seeing through their thinly veiled facade) impacted Halo? Last I checked, Master Chief had some of his best writing in Infinite. Showed what it means to be a soldier. Is it because they released some free, optional skins to the multiplayer mode like they do with every other event? Did you cry when Fallout 2 had gay marriage in 1998? Did you cry when the Sims had gay relationships since the original game? What abvout Terraria having a gender change potion? what about when Johnson was black? What about when Miranda Keyes had some of the worst dialogue in gaming history in a failed attempt make her seem like a strong, female leader? What about Skirmishers being all female? Trevor being bisexual in GTA V? How about Halo being anti-religion and anti-government from the very first game and book? How about Star Trek having transgender characters and the characters living in a communist utopia for decades? "Wokeness" isn't a new phenomenon. It's just a topicto distract us from actual issues in this world. You've cemented yourself (well, with 478 subscribers you can't exactly say that but still) as a channel who just parrots rage bait creators and actually falls for it, with the odd animation here and there that fails to capture the essence of Halo and instead goes for scenes that are literally just "wow lots of troops charging" and "stoic still shot of character X" with a migraine-inducing . If you link your animations on your channel, your potential employers will look at the rest of the channel, too. No one wants to hire someone who goes off like that. If you put more time into your work than you did complaining about Halo, maybe you'd get hired. Or even betetr yet, you should put time into your own game franchise to prove that the majority of people actually agree with you. Although, you calling the majority of people who actually support "an echo chamber" just goes to show how deluded you've become by this whole "wokeness" issue prevalent in modern politics. Just look at the polls and statistics, man. Facts are free. Most people just don't care.
Act Man and Hidden Xperia have nothing to do with this video, and Ive never seen them criticize Halo for hiring too many women and I doubt even if they thought that theyd say it publicly. I dont agree with the woman stuff but it isnt parroting yputubers to point out the design differences (and lack of creativity and understanding of the original material). There's a reason when the 360 servers shut down no one gave a damn to play Halo 4 again, there's a reason Halo 5 never got enhanced for Series X and is still without as much as an fov slider or 120fps, and there's a reason they're scrapping Infinite's 10 year plan. Most people who grew up on Halo agree that 343's games were awful. You just dont hear them talk about it because 99% of them left years ago. (Most left shortly after H4 launched.) 343's games are not inclusive. They utilize manipulate engagement systems and are designed to be antisocial. For them to act like they care about anyone's mental health meanwhile their games' matchmaking systems are designed to manipulate you just like Instagram and TikTok do is laughable. They don't care about women or LGBTQIA+ people.
I am actually surprised. I thought after all these years it was obvious why Halo was "woke". Welcome to the Internet, buddy. Like, there's a ton of examples yet you choose to ignore them. Wokeness is about placing diversity first and foremost instead of an actual work on story and gameplay. Just to broaden and appeal to "the modern audience" that is too soft to eat anything rougher than a tube paste. TV Show is like peak 343! Everything they wanted realized in a separate show. A show that is garbage about whiny children, who scream at each other causing drama like, guess who? Women. Specifically the annoying boss type. The one that thinks she's a god walking the earth, while their brain is almost 90 percent empty. The one who believes she's Jesus Christ, enduring the most cruel suffering on earth and everyone should be grateful that she's patient enough to let it slide.
About the examples of diversity you mentioned: they worked because nobody forced that diversity onto an already established universe with its own laws. Or because developers were never even trying to Appeal to anybody, and were trying to make a good game, a masterpiece of art. Their Magnum opus. The fact that Trevor is a bisexual is just a fact, it's not his whole thing. Take it out and nothing will change. They didn't start their projects thinking: oh yeah, the main character has to be gay, preferably some ethnicity. And he shouldn't look like a man or woman at all, wouldn't want trans to feel violated about that. And they should have pronouns. Definitely pronouns. And a trans partner.
i fail to see how this is relevant to the current situation at 343. the CEO you're clearly mad at doesn't even work at 343 anymore. you also keep complaining about lack of new content coming to halo infinite, when the fact that this franchise from the early 2000s is still getting attention. what's with the trailer lookin' thing at the end? are you making your own halo game? if so, good luck trying to dodge takedowns left and right for breaching copyright, because I know you're going to try and make money off of this
Mate the whole lot is fucked at this point. Stay away from anything halo except for the originals done by bungie. The rest is just pure shite and we shouldnt gibe any time of the day to any of it
What a weird “anti-woke” angle to take this franchise in. What a shame. I hope the project is successful, but why make it a culture war issue? As if it were women and not Microsoft that made Halo how it is now. Celebrate masculinity? Both male and female characters and creators make Halo what it is. With respect, stop feeding this reactionary political zeitgeist for clicks.
Bungie Halo bigged up Africa and make it the centre of the universe where the Ark was located. Furthermore, MC's face was never shown. (I know the comics were around but fuck them). Chief could have been Black or Asian. 343's diversity is just surface level.
Oh? Then what about the Halo TV show that they were supervising? Or the entire staff consisting almost entirely of women and a small minority of emasculate men? Like, the author showed pictures, you didn't see that?
@@mitchie2267 , sigh. Google "343i team". About the TV show... Didn't you see how they backwashed Captain Keyes and his daughter and made him a little bitch that can't do anything against the actions of his abusive spouse? Or how they destroyed Halsey's character turning her into the most unlikeable characters ever made. Or, the fact that they didn't add the BAMF himself, Sergeant Johnson!
Ok now I've actually gotten to writing a review of this video. Halo has certainly gone downhill mostly due to 343i but also in part due to Reach. I don't agree with the reason you attribute it to. I think it's culture war brainrot to try and say "it's women's fault" or whatever. Like some of your fundamental criticisms like 343i's bad map design or the games' feature lack are valid. But, then you mix it in with this odd, anti-women, obnoxious right-wing schizo parroting and it made the video insufferable. It's just a simple issue of plain money-hungry, egotistical, bad leadership. Nothing to do with this diversity boogeyman of yours.
@@bxbbxrrrx is that your review ? My videos are not about “Anti-woman” bashing. If that’s your overall take - then you’ve just shown me your age. My vids are about showing you the fundamental difference in workplace culture. And how it’s made the games worse. Treating male and females as equal beings without understanding women as a whole and the gender differences between us is absolutely stupid. Yet here we are molding entire studios around women for some reason ? This is The problem with you progressive idiots. You can’t blame the ‘poor leadership’ - without looking at the people behind all of these poor decisions. And these people are all progressive idiots and women who don’t know what they’re doing.
@itsdw2323 “My videos are not about anti woman bashing” Really? Lol could’ve fooled me. Anyways, maybe not entirely. But there’s a ton of it in your video. And my point is that it’s not the leadership being progressive or women that matters at all. It’s just 343i’s trend chasing and fundamental disconnect from what Halo fans want and what they want to create that makes them make bad Halo games. Any studio, even the ones you’d consider “non-woke” is capable of that. ex: Bungie with Halo Reach. If you remember that games story and mp were both ruthlessly disliked at launch.
@ I remember reach story and multiplayer were both mostly positively received. The game was feature complete day one. And You can’t say “ it’s not leadership being progressive or women that matters at all” without explaining HOW it’s not ! Explain your point !
@ Sure, I’ll explain. Sorry for the late reply I was busy with work About Halo Reach, it may have received a lot of praise but it was by far Bungie’s worst received Halo game and for justified reasons. Reach had major plot holes and lore contradictions and basically every comp player hated what Reach did gameplay wise. That was a game by Bungie, a studio you like to idealize as being “non-woke.” What’s to blame for Halo shortcomings? Blaming progressives for Halo’s downfall because they are progressive is misguided. Progressives have been integral to Halo’s development since its inception and lead the franchise to its peak. To start, if we’re talking STEM and academia, that heavily leans progressive left. As a relevant example, the average programmer is a left-leaning liberal or just a leftist let’s be honest. And if we’re talking artists, it’s the same thing. Halo has always been developed and led by people who hold progressive sentiments (like Joe Staten for example) and it shows. What’d you think the whole point of the Covenant was? Allegory for how blind allegiance to tradition isn’t a good thing. The Arbiter was made to show what happens when you break from that blind faith. It’s that anti-conservative subtext that was a constant throughout the main trilogy. So yeah Halo has always had a progressive streak. It’s not progressive people that led to Halo’s downfall. So is it the influx of women? No, not really. I’d like to mention that the Halo games with the worst stories in terms of lore consistency/writing (Reach, 4, 5, 6) have all had male head writers (and mostly male writers in general iirc). As for the MP, the buggiest game by far (6) had mostly male programmers. Not to mention that there’s basically no evidence of a male vs female brain. It’s unproductive to try and pin all of Halo’s failures on some unfounded gender essentialism yap. The actual reason is much more straightforward. Halo’s downfall is a mixture of greed and ego, leading to trend chasing and cutting corners. And that started all the way back with Reach, which was I said before a game made by a studio you like to idealize as “non-woke men” (when in reality it was pretty progressive men).

9:02: What are you talking about? Split-screen in multiplayer was always in the game.
No it wasn't. The lack of split screen after 343 PROMISED they would have it in Infinite caused a massive backlash.

(Most left shortly after H4 launched.)
343's games are not inclusive.

Sorry for the late reply I was busy with work
About Halo Reach, it may have received a lot of praise but it was by far Bungie’s worst received Halo game and for justified reasons. Reach had major plot holes and lore contradictions and basically every comp player hated what Reach did gameplay wise. That was a game by Bungie, a studio you like to idealize as being “non-woke.”
What’s to blame for Halo shortcomings?
Based.
