Putting longer bolts where the drive head bolts to the wobble box with lock nuts on the back side was the best fix I ever did on our 930f. The 630f we have now works totally different and is an improvement. We also have a farm In a similar boat as yours. We have decided lime would help.

Looks good... Yall might want to think about getting one of those feederhouse dust diverters sometime... they make a WORLD of difference in how much dust comes back out of the feederhouse into the head, and blocks your vision... My BIL has one on his 9600 Deere combine and it's just unbelievable how much that thing helps you to be able to see and avoid rocks, ESPECIALLY at night, and how much it helps keep the cab glass cleaner and just easier to see in general. Highly recommended!

Hi Ryan and Travis. I enjoy your you
tube videos quite a lot. I am a retired community college teacher who
taught physics, Astronomy and engineering classes . Every summer I
would take Chataqua classes on astronomy and physics. One summer I
took a short class on the earth from space where Jet Propulsion
Laboratory scientists would image the earth from space and could
learn about trace elements in crops. Knowing how this information is
encouraged to be shared with everyone I thought if data was available
for your location it would be of interest to you. Also since you
mention of mining activity on your farm have you thought about a soil
and water analysis looking for heavy metals. An Atomic Absorption
Spectrometer and mass spectrometer would be able to find trace
amounts of elements in the soil, runoff rainwater and well water for
example. A local water analysis labortory should have this
capability. Also maybe dirt samples from the air cleaner elements on
your tractors, combine and skid steer might be possible ways to
sample your working enviroment as well. I have grown fond of both of
you, your family and even rocket from your sharing on you tube and
want you to continue your doing work that you love. Just a thought.

can you do a video on how to put the header on the combine

    • @lukestrawwalker
      @lukestrawwalker 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Not much to it... you saw them doing it at the beginning of the video... pull up straight toward the combine, center the feederhouse with the opening in the middle of the head, lower the feederhouse just enough that the oblong lugs on top of the feederhouse end will go under the upper bar of the header, pull in til it just bumps the head, then pick up the feederhouse until the lugs engage into the slots in the underside of the top bar of the header. Continue to raise the head until the bottom bar of the head rests against the bottom face of the feederhouse. Lift the head clear of the trailer, back up so the head is off the trailer, then get down and lock the two spring-loaded locking pins into the head on either side of the feederhouse at the bottom, to lock the head onto the feederhouse. Connect up the header driveshafts on either side, and the height-sensing and control electronic cable on the LH side. Hook up the hydraulic lines that control the reel height and drive the reel hydraulic drive motor on the RH side. Make sure the feederhouse header drive speed control is set to "minimum" for the bean platform, and you're ready to go to the field. For corn you speed the head up to where you want it, but you SHOULD slow it down all the way to prevent overspeeding the wobble box and sickle with the bean head... (too much vibration if it's running too fast). The corn head hooks up exactly the same, but the reel drive motor hookups are unused and the reel height adjustment controls the hydraulic deck-plate adjustments (if equipped, which most modern heads are). The electronic cable is for automatic header height control on both, sometimes sensors for row sensing autosteer, and the lights on the head... (road and work lights).

G Koplitz you couldn't be more wrong. If you do a good job at no till you can get just as good of yields. Check out my videos to see our crops no tilled. With no till it's less labor, less soil erosion, better in drought condition, way less fuel costs and equipment over head.
