Rengoku is by far my favorite character even though I knew he was going to die. He’s semi-comedic relief, but in reality he is a noble and righteous optimist in a world of demons, a true sun to other characters just by following his own goals and morals which are also noble and righteous. Such a unique character and one that the world could always use. Especially now. He took his problems and fought them with sheer determination and optimism, he obviously feels hurt by all of his experiences with his dad etc., but he keeps going and pushes on instead of feeling sorry for himself. I find him much more relatable than any of the modern shonen protagonists who express all of their emotions and whenever they do bottle up their emotions, they rarely reflect how I feel when I bottle up emotions. The stark contrast between the pain and how I express myself always makes it almost awkward, but I hope it keeps my friends and family less worrisome for me and keeps others in a better emotional state even if it’s just a little bit.
