Wow! That stinks. I'm a HS senior and was looking into Clark last year but was disappointed by their overwhelming lack of helpful scholarships and decided against applying. Debt is NOT encouraging to me when I research an HBCU. (And I'm not a believer in the "it's worth it!" ideology--I've seen too many people, from HBCUs and PWIs, still working to pay off student loans far into retirement age) I'm glad you found somewhere else to go!
Gurl ik im not the only one who believes the scholarship system is rigged lol! Im still looking for scholarships because debt is no friend of mine lol.
Im in the same situation your in. I was accepted into Clark went to the transfer student day met some cool people. But after seeing how the fees were rolling in there is no way i was going to be working every second and not be able to enjoy clark and all of the wonderful things it has to offer. I did defer my application, so i can still go but im going to see witch California community college is better. Good luck to you!!!!!
I am a high school senior and I actually applied to CAU. After watching this video, I am a bit hesitant since I will also be going out of state if I went there.
Checking out videos on CAU. It was my top choice as well. I applied in Dec & just got my acceptance May 7!! Seeing the tuition & housing fees really stressed me out thinking about how my family & i would pay for all that. Im just going to attend Alabama A&M. Was thinking about just doing 1 year at A&M & then transferring if i get offered a full ride.
